I just bought one, and I have to say, it is sooooo much fun taking off from a stop light. It'll chirp all four wheels at launch. The 392 definitely turns heads over a standard Rubicon. My neighbor has a Rubicon 4xE and his sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
I have an early 70's muscle car with around 500 hp, and had a little road battle with one of these the other day. He pulled up next to me and I could tell he wanted to play. We went at it a bit, and while I pulled on him, I was really surprised at how quick it was. I've never heard of 392 Rubicon and had to do a search, which is what lead me here. The fellow had the top open, doors off, and it just didn't look like it would be as quick as it was. It's a very cool vehicle all around !
Anything with this 6.4L HEMI is fast, not just the 470HP, but it’s a pushrod engine, so as a result you also get 470lbft of torque. It’s no ordinary NA cross plane V8. It was originally designed to be a workhorse in the heavy duty Ram trucks like the 2500 and 3500, A lot like the V10 in the Dodge Viper. But of course Dodge being Dodge they began using the 6.4 in their sports cars. And it found its way into pretty much every vehicle across the Chrysler brand.
@@zoomzoom3839 I have a 2018 2500 Ram with the 6.4 and 4:10 gears, it's a big heavy brute of a truck. I believe it's rated at 415 hp, which is plenty, but the 470 hp 6.4 would make it that much better. I also had a 2005 1500 Ram with the 5.7 and I believe 345 hp and 3:92 gears, and it was a bit quicker than the the big 2500. I like my 2500, but it's the roughest riding truck I've ever owned.
Sorry about being so late Joe. I really like both si picking one over the other is not an easy choice but if I really had to sit down and think about it, I’d go with the TRX.
Apples 2 Apples comparison here buddy. You should have said Bronco Raptor 392 wins hands down on engine & sound alone in Bronco Raptor comparison. Bronco needs a 5.0 dark horse coyote V8 engine in it and EV1 would buy it! As far as TRX, I would take that anyday over the Jeep
your best video to date that 392 is just totally ridiculously sick the thing that you didn't touch on with that 392 is the front end more beefed up then with the regular four or six cylinder? I would think that that 392 is pushing the front end around a lot more than usual hence the dreaded jeep wobble Thanks for the video
Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸Excellent review and content for the 4th of July. Comparing 2 All American Hemi vehicles Jeeps are great and a Rubicon with a 392 does get much better than that. Personally I would take a Jeep over the TRX
This is another excellent review! I really look forward to your reviews. BTW I ordered a BMW M2 from Morgan auto group in Tampa after the review you did. I told them it was your review that sold me. 6 speed manual and its here in less than 2 weeks!! Keep up the quality work!
Idling it sounds more like a Shelby GT. It doesn't have the rumble of the other 392 Stellantis vehicles. But during the On-throttle it sounded more like a Mopar Hemi.
One thing I bet you didn’t know about this Uconnect system is that there are 18 different display themes for you to choose from. To do this, go to settings, then hit display and then set theme. Then you can choose whichever theme suits your interest. This will only work on the Uconnect 4C NAV.
while on paper the Wrangler 392 seems like a terrible value its something you really just have to experience...I got to drive a Wrangler 392 for a day and WOW it is such a fun vehicle...
The profit margin for Stellantis on every 392 sale must be through the roof. The base model $90k MSRP is ridiculous. Don’t forget the 12-14 miles per gallon.
The price point of a 392 Jeep is just not worth it to me. I have a TRX on order and I think that for the standard and options, including ventilated front and rear seats, I will stay with the truck. Though the Wrangler 392 is sweet looking and would not mind owning one. But if pressed between the two, I will keep the TRX.
I like how he added like it or not as far as electrification of the vehicles, if you don't like it. Simply don't buy the new stuff. Just keep rebuilding what you have and the manufacturers will come around regardless of government regulations. 😅 Besides, if you do the simple math 130 lb of lithium per vehicle tesla amount, 20 metric tons of lithium on the planet and over 1.4 billion vehicles. The Earth simply does not have the material, unless you want lithium to be more valuable than gold😅
Joe this crazy price!!! You literally would have to smoking something bad at dealership to buy this. I can definitely find something better spend $95k on than this. Great video as usual but this HARD NO!!!!
Will the jeep gladiator be redesigned and perhaps get better mpgs? On all jeep u should be able to get 35 and 37 inch tires right from the factory since that's what most people will move up to.
Hey Joe! Happy 4th! 🇺🇸🇺🇲. Here's a little food for thought, lol. In those door panels since it's the 4th I think you could fit 3 patriotic twinkies. Now the difference with a patriotic twinkie and a regular one is that the sponge cake is colored like the American flag, AND it has chocolate stars mixed in the creme filling. In that center console you could fit I would say maybe 4 donuts from DD 🍩 with red, white, and blue sprinkles. And for the big finish in the cup holder you could put a medium coffee with extra creamer to wash it all down. Of course the cup must say USA on it too. Now thats is how food enthusiasts celebrate 🍾.
Don't compare them, I want them both. The 392 complements what the trx "can't do." Dodge and jeep did the best. It is simple. The trx can be a tool, the jeep 392 is a toy for fun.

95K for this?? no way. 65-70K sound about right. Love the 392 engine, super punchy engine but that Hellcat engine is really something else lol.
I was at the dealer yesterday, they had 2. Msrp was 85K and some change. Pretty cool though.
Just got mine used with 4500 miles for 70. Got “Sarge Green”
thats a great deal @@cobraman502
Having both The Trx is So much better!!! Also 2024 392’s are available for order!!
I will always go for a TRX!
95k... Yeah... I will get a muscle car then a used Jeep at that point. Or a TRX lmao... what a joke.
I would too but i dont wanna pay for all that gas! I wish they made pickup trucks in hybrid. For now im rocking nx 350h
Agreed. The 392 doesn’t belong in this Jeep.
Don't know which one is better but both seem to be fun to drive.
A Jeep never seems fun to drive. TRX any day
That is one special Jeep Wrangler for sure and it sounds great.

Almost spit out my coffee when I heard that price. I didn't guess it was nearly that much.

Yes they're beefed
i have a 392 jeep. Beats scat packs from the dig and fun to drive on road and off road
LOVE the 392!!!! But I think more bang for your buck it’ll have to be the TRX
This thing looks awesome but you'd have to be insane to fork over 6 figures (don't forget your taxes people) for a freakin Wrangler.
Very cool vehicle.......I'm still laughing at "Grandpa's Balls". Cheers Joe.
On the 4Xe line Jeeps the tow hooks are sky blue. Plus blue outline on the hood graphics.
Happy 4th joe and family, thx for bringing all your nice reviews
Wrangler 392 has better resale value for what it is compare for TRX. Both are great vehicles tho. Jeep for me, more fun and full all season vehicle.
The fact that the price range on a new Wrangler is $35-95k just highlights the absurdity of the auto industry
Crazy, cars used to be 3k brand new.
@@victorpapillon1487 Yeah 55-60 years ago😂
I really wish they make a 392 with a manual transmission
I don't think a manual would be able to handle the engine, especially considering the Wrangler is one of the most unreliable vehicles on the road.
@@snakeeyes9246 the manual transmission would help make it more reliable. usually the automatics are terrible & unreliable.
I had a 392 Challenger Manual. The transmission worked great. Sold it for a manual Jeep though.
They made a manual hellcat I’m sure it can handle a 392

Congrats on your 1M subscribers Joe. 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I think the comparison should be against the G Wagon AMG. That way the Jeep could win on price alone.
The exhaust itself is setting off the fireworks. Love the sound

Jeep needs to make this in a 2 door - I would buy in a heartbeat 👍👍
That would be a horrible idea. A top heavy vehicle with a short wheelbase with almost 500HP. Yeah no way they can sell that to people.

@@zoomzoom3839 land rover does that with the defender 90 which has a v8 from the 110, but it doesn't mean that its a good idea in the long run
Two doors suck! Grow up!

I'll take a 392 V8 with 4xe PHEV powertrain as well -- best of both worlds, even more powerful.
That would be a perfect setup/
Zoink : The dash should be the same color as the Rubicon.
UDA LOVES ON! And so does Jeep!
The money is sickening but to sum it up, your getting a lot more fun with this vehicle
I’m getting that Mad Max Vibe.
Joe my setup would be a high velocity or black and they are giving the wrangler 392 another year of production for 2024.
Happy 4th of July Joe and Lori!

$100,000??? Glad i got a Supercharged V8 Defender instead. LOADED compared to this 392. Sounds better too with the F-Type R engine
Don't even come at me with reliability silliness. Take it to the mountains, drive it hard, launch control, etc. 25,900miles & never been to the shop
No winch = lower shipping $ to the dealer who could put a Warn winch & Factor 55 plate, end hook etc. prior to customer pick-up
Thumbs up for the seat logo
