Wow, this Dr. just validated something I have wondered about. After heart attack, three way by pass I quit being outside. One year later I'm diagnosed out of the blue with Advanced RA. Now I have it in my lungs. All the sudden I have allergies, post nasal drip & diagnosed with a lung infection that's not curable. I cough non stop & cough up heavy amounts of phlegm . I could go on.
The good part...approx a month ago I remembered I had tested very low in Vit D & magnesium. I started taking 10,000 IU daily. I didn't know the connection between low Vit D levels & respiratory infections. I have noticed a substantial amount less coughing etc. I even feel like a cloud has lifted. I never made the lack of sun & air connection , now I know because I sat in the house for 9 years ! Such good news. No wonder the powers that be are trying to block out the sun !

Thank you so much for this presentation. My doc recommended that I take 4000 IUs of D3, and it has helped me. Must admit didn’t take it daily. I paused this video half way through and took a D3 capsule. I have to let my doc know she was spot on. Also when I heard the lecturer talk about cod liver oil...my mind flashed back to those days when it was mandatory for us kids to swallow a tablespoon of that nasty stuff, chased with a quarter orange...daily, up to age 14. I thought my parents were inflicting “cruel and unusual punishment.” However, being African American, that “cruel and unusual punishment” (so I thought) was one of the best things my parents could’ve done for me.

Jen Pollard, how very true. I had an experience when I was building a radio station for a guy a few years ago and we were out in the sun all day. I have been taking Dr Wallach's 90 Essential Nutrients for about 20 years, and I did not burn at all. My friend, who I was building the radio station for, is African American and he was out in the sun working all day just like I was. The bottom line is, he experienced a sunburn, but I did not even though I am white, and so it's more than just getting enough Sun, you have to have your body tuned with all the nutrients needed to keep everything in top-notch condition to convert the serum cholesterol in your skin into Vitamin D3. If you listen to your doctor and he says get off of all cholesterol containing foods, you are headed for disaster or, if you are taking cholesterol reducing drugs, you will be causing Alzheimer's disease and many other problems.

@@marcofogli4317 Actually, there is ZERO evidence that any dose below 30,000 IUs a day causes harm. There have been cases where people have accidentally taken 2,000,000 IUs a day for weeks, and the symptoms produced were easily fixed just by discontinuing the excessive dose. Just half an hour of sun in summer in Oslo Norway (!) will produce 10,000 to 20,000 IUs of vitamin D in the skin

I was low, even when taking 5,000 IU per day, then even higher up to 10,000 IU (only slightly low)... but it wasn't until I learned to take Vitamin K2 with it, and a Multivitamin more regularly to supplement my poor diet and lack of sun, that my Vitamin D settled down and seemed to work like it should, and my sleeping improved and then everything improved.
I have heard plant based is ok, but not as efficient as animal based, so you have to take a little more for same result, so be aware. it is mentioned breifly in this video, but more detailed in some of the other vit D videos that follow ruclips.net/video/fmDng_uMCnY/видео.html

About 7 years ago, I started vitamin D dosing. I came about doing it through researching and living through ADHD. At the time I was transferred to a different department in my Company and due to the job's inherent dangers I quickly discovered how my HDHD could get me severely injured or killed if I don't do something about my lack of mindfulness and brain fog. Up to that point I've learned life skills to help me manage it. Albeit I also take other supplements but I do truly believe that once I started the vitamin D the brain fog disappeared. My ability to concentrate dramatically improved. Most of if not all of the associated issues of ADHD have disappeared so much so that one would be hard pressed to define what is a norm and what is not. I just wanted to share this is my personal experience and testimony to Vitamin D supplementation. That being said, I've been with the same organization for 8 years. I am now a team leader. I am truly blessed and I also know that medicine and vitamins are not a cure all, we need spirituality and guidance from caring people to make our lives work.

Massively helpful. Being a composium of actual studies it gives viewers additional confidence to the many anecdotal ones.
ALSO IT CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH THAT NORMAL FAMILY DOCTORS HAVE VERY LITTLE INSTRUCTION IN THE FIELD OF FOOD AND MEDICINE. You are unlikely to get much help there.
So it's up to you to get yourself informed.
Also bear in mind that as you age your needs for such valuable nutrients vastly increase. At sixty years old your needs for this one item may be a half dozen times more than a twenty year old.
So perhaps it can be understood why we become ever more vulnerable to illness as we age.
Remember too, the number of people who die of vitamin overdose is probably zero. But death from prescribed pharmaceutals is the third or fourth leading cause of mortality year on year.

C DV Yes It can be for some, my husbands chronic asthma went away once on a high but safe dose of D3, +K2 though in winter his asthma came back again so he upped his D3 +K2 and his asthma went away again. Hasn’t needed his two inhalers for months now. Though dog dander in a confined space can set him off on another type of asthma attack, so he still carries an inhaler. We have recently bought a portable hand held nebuliser so he can use with natural salt, or colidal silver. Only around £40 to buy, works great, but hasn’t needed it for asthma attack yet. Be aware that some steroid inhalers can actually cause asthma, look at the listed side effects, not many patients do, he found out the hard way.

    • @Thedamped
      @Thedamped 4 года назад +1

@@margaretfitzgerald9670 Please note that colloidal silver has side effects as well, but because there is no evidence that it does any good, it's not regulated as a drug so they don't have to list them. If you want natural remedies/placebos to treat his condition maybe you should consider sticking to ones that are safe? Salt in a nebulizer is probably a much better option, though apparently it can irritate some people's airways. (This might save you some money: as you said "natural salt", all salt sold in stores is actually natural. Most salt (like Morton salt) is mined out of the ground from ancient lake/ocean beds that slowly evaporated and then eventually were covered by sediment. Some people try to claim that that salt isn't natural so they can charge exorbitant prices to sell you same thing, NaCl.) I hope his condition continues to improve.

Years ago I remember a friend telling me that her niece had lupus so I thought well I should look that up and find out if it's related to a mineral or vitamin deficiency I did some research and I found out that lack of vitamin D can contribute to lupus..
Well make this long story short I told her to contact her mother and get the doctor to check to see if she's in I need a vitamin D and because I was not a nurse and I don't know what I'm talkin about they didn't bother checking it. Number one they said because she was the flag girl she got enough vitamin D but I remember she used to put suntan lotion and sunscreen on her body all the time so I'm sure that must have blocked the vitamin D. Nobody listens to me a year later she had a massive heart attack about about three weeks before she died the doctor finally checked your vitamin D and it was so lowest that they had ever seen. She had a whole year to tell her niece mother to check the vitamin D I mean why didn't the doctor think of that? I'm no nurse I have no degree but it's good to do some research yourself I didn't think that would have made too much of a big difference but I said at least try to see what she's lacking. Oh well you can take a horse to water but you can't make them drink and besides there's a lot of people that are Dr worshippers and this a lot of doctors that can have a tendency to be narcissistic and there's doctors I will not test you for your vitamins and the minerals in your body so just keep giving you drugs to cover it up any ailment but then there's the good doctors that do test your blood and my hat goes off to them

The melanoma panic induced in parents which peaked about twenty years ago and saw them dressing their kids from top to toe every time they went to the beach probably has a lot to answer for. Gentle exposure to the sun (for all except those with abnormally fair complexions) is not only healthy in terms of Vit D, but it fortifies the skin against further exposure, making sunburns less likely. It is sun BURN, not casual exposure, which seems to tip the balance towards melanoma.

It's important to take into account the daily supplement IU value should be increased for darker skinned individuals due to melanin blocking conversion of Vitamin D3. AND, the studies do not mention whether or not the people in the trials were deficient to begin with. Therefore, if you have symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency start on a higher dose. Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency/Insufficiency before reaching extremes of rickets or osteomalacia are observed as: muscle/joint pain, extreme fatigue, brain fog (poor memorization), depression, to only mention a few. I suggest looking up keywords like "my vitamin d deficiency story" in order to hear from real patients and their journeys.

This presentation just pop in my feed and I decided to watch it. I’m glad that I did. I live in the Uk and vitamin D is only recommended for those that have no sun expose. I originally from a sunny country but I don’t like heat so in the summer, I’ll do anything to avoid the sun. For the last few years ( 10 plus), I have have several muscular and skeletal pain. There are times that these are so bad that I can’t walk. My doctors were prescribing pain killers but they never work. Been to physio which gives relief for the pain but it never goes away. And in 2018 when my pain got so bad that my muscles were so weak and I had muscle tremors and yet again they wanted to give more pain killers, I refused and insisted on Pilates and Yoga as I heard that it was good. The doctors sent me off to the gym for a 3 month free classes. This was such a huge relief that I kept up the gym and also started exercising include Pilates and yoga every morning up to an hour. This changed my life, I still have flare ups but I can manage them with exercise.
But when this pandemic started I was socially distancing even before it came to the UK (when I watched the daily WHO briefings on China) but i got symptoms in the middle of March with dry cough, high temperatures, headache etc. Because I considered myself pretty healthy when I had relief after the first two weeks I thought that it has past. Only for the cough to continue with the chest pain. I have phlegm with my cough but not the one I get from a cold (tiny white specks). My doctor said that I likely had COVID which was gone but It may have left me with bacterial infections. Gave me a week of antibiotics but the cough didn’t clear actually it was worse the last 3 days on taking it. As I’ve been reading about Vitamin D, I have now started to take it ( for the 1st time ever) and now that I’ve watched this video I will continue forever. I’ll also start taking zinc and vitamin c. I’m seriously concerned that Vitamin D it is not strongly advised in the UK. In fact you are encouraged to get my vitamin levels from your food which as shown helps but impossible. I’ll share this video with my friends and family. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and work in this area.

Did you check the studies that reported no difference in infections to see if they used D2 or D3? The reason I ask is because D2 is often prescribed by physicians and used in research studies, but has proven to be ineffective and even toxic compared to D3. I've been taking at least 20,000IU of D3 daily for 12 years now and it has prevented the chronic bronchitis, otitis media, sinusitis, and even bursitis in my shoulders that I suffered from for years - all gone since 2008 when I started on D3 after getting diagnosed severely D-deficient. I haven't even suffered from a cold or flu since then, and I used to get infected with upper respiratory infections every time they came around. I am hoping that my high D-level will also prevent the symptoms of COVID19 if I come into contact with it.

I will relay your experience to some family members.
-- I do not know the answer to your question re D2 or D3. Stick to D3 I'd say, and you've done some research it appears on D2.

Interesting. I've just had a blood test and my GP has put me on 3200IU per day for 3 months. The normal parameters for vitamin D levels should be between 75-200 nmol/L, mine was 27. With covid-19 getting closer to home, This is one med that I will not forget, as well as self-isolating from last week.

Thanks for this presentation. Wife and I live in central Florida. She has MS and, although ambulatory, can't walk for exercise and does only limited yard work. I've always wondered how much sun exposure is adequate for Vit. D production. We're in the right place and do kayak/boat/fish about once a week. I'm going to set up a place for her to sit and read for an appropriate time to ensure exposure, sans sun screen, while we're "social-distancing". It's certainly doable. Thanks again for the presentation. Michael Dameron, Major, USAF (Retired)

the studies that interested me were the ones that found no difference in risk for RTI when the d-supplemented subjects and the controls already had levels of Vit. D that are in the healthy range. Interesting finding, and it seems to underline rather than undermine the notion that “healthy” levels of Vitamin D are crucial to respiratory health.
