The moment I saw the chapter and the story of Shigaraki I had my suspicion that something was off. First how can a small child kill his entire family. Second afo just. "happens" to be there in the aftermath. Third he had a room already for him as soon as they arrived. Not to mention that if those hand were members of his family then where is the little girl's hand. Plus this is Nana's grandchild how can afo not know where he was. No this man followed Nana's descendants till he found an opportunity to attack.

Shigaraki and Eri’s backstories have a lot of similarities if you think about it. They both (if you go by the current official story) manifested unique, mutated quirks that are destructive and accidentally killed their families with them, before being taken in by villains who want to use them. The difference is, Afo wants Shigaraki to become his successor because of his lineage, while Chisaki wanted Eri to be a tool because of her quirk.
I feel like that highlights the problem with the hero society. Eri was seen as someone to save while no one came to save the young tenko. A cute little girl vs an odd colored boy

I think he did because think about it for Shigaraki's quirk he has to touch people with all fingers, so that would mean he chased after his family in order for him to kill them by "accident". So I think All for one set it up and Shigaraki's is being manipulated since he's related to Nana.

Idea. AFO or The Doc usess a mutation quirk on children and it has like a 10% chance of working and if it fails the child does not develop a quirk at all. Deku was one of them making him quirkless. (Maiby) Decay boy: was captured bc he is a related to AM successor then AFO used Mutation quirk on him to eather make him quirkless but he developed the decay ability brainwashed the boy then made him kill his family with his own hands. Then little girl with a horn was the very last person AFO used mutate on but she accidently killed her father before she went to the Doc to get captured and turned into a advanced nomu. Either there is something we don't know about Shigaraki's quirk or All For One killed shigaraki's family leaving the hands for him. I find it weird how only the hands remain because looking at the decay quirk it destroyed a lot of stuff and killed people.
The best lies have some grain of truth to them. I think Shigaraki having a mutated quirk and he accidentally killed at least someone in his family is true. However I do see All for One killing the rest of the family to keep Shigaraki locked into the narrative he created for him. All for One could have been watching the Shimura family for a while and thus witnessed the awakening of the quirk. When he saw what Shigaraki could do is when he thought up his plan to turn Nana’s grandchild against All Might. He either took Shigaraki’s quirk from him for a bit and killed the family with it one night then returned to Shigaraki who woke up to see his dead family and let the poor kid think he did it or he had a quirk that controlled Shigaraki and made him kill the rest of the family without Shigaraki being any wiser. The trauma from it causing Shigaraki to repress the memories would make sense and be something All for One hoped for so he could fill in the blanks.
I always saw the two villains like the Joker and Two-Face from the dark night movie. All for one seems like the type of person to bring the worst out of people. His fight with all might in s3 made me think on this idea when I first saw the anime.

That's one great video. Something more to this theory : knowing how Shig's quirk works, HOW IN THE WORLD can the only remaining pieces of all these victims be THEIR HANDS? There's like six persons on Shig's body RN. SIX PERSONS decayed to their hands during the awakening berserk of a child. This doesn't match. All For One was clearly tracking Nana’s family, but its just too coincidental that he scoops up Tenko right after he accidentally killed his whole family.

I could see this as a possibility. Isn't Horikoshi's goal right now to blurr the line between hero and villian, as well as the innocent and the guilty? This could be a very effective way of doing that.
All for One has a touch based memory alteration quirk. The Doctor informs All for One about a boy with a disintegration perk. Deku’s father dies fighting All for One via disintegration during a doctors visit. All for One takes Deku home and alters his mother’s memories and altering his memories. He hears word that Nana Shimura’s grandson is quirkless. After slaying Shigaraki’s family he takes a shell shocked Shigaraki and alters his memories. Shigaraki has Deku’s perk, and All for One can’t resist trying to manipulate the quirkless. I feel like the author is saving a few doctors visits for a rainy day. All for One is the oldest villain that we know of in MHA and I think he knows that in order to manipulate people they have to be doing “what they want to do”. I think All for One has been purposefully allowing for things to happen for decades and once he fought All Might he knew he had to focus on an endgame plot. It’s possible that All for One can body hop at the point of death to someone he’s given a perk to, and that the vestiges in One for All are an echo of this effect. I think he has been cultivating power in One for All for a long time and at some point he’s going to try to collect.
As far as Shigaraki having a mutated quirk different from his parents, we do have precedence for that with Eri, who also accidentally killed a family member when she suddenly developed a power that nobody could have expected. It's a rare situation, but not one that's unheard of. That said, what is REALLY fishy is the idea that Shigaraki disintegrated his family with his quirk and all that was left were their hands. As far as we know, unless something happens to stop it before it finishes, Shigaraki's quirk disintegrates whoever or whatever he touches until there's nothing left.
I think his decay quirk requires some kind of energy that he emits from his finger tips when I first awakened it killed the dog in his panicked state he runs reaching for his family but the stress makes the quirk unstable and lessens the effect causing it to stop within certain proximities like the hands

What if so much of what Shigaraki tells us is true? It is possible that his fragmented memory before All For One found him is due to a psychological defense mechanism, this is a very common symptom in people who have suffered severe traumas during childhood. I believe that AFO already knew of the existence of Nana Shimura's son and for a long time he was simply watching him, he formed a family with a younger son named Tenko, this child was born with a rare deformity on his face (the wrinkles on top of his face) said deformity to Tenko's father reminded him of the dark look of his mother Nana when she left him that is why he was always much harder and cynical with him than with the rest of his family to the point of becoming An abusive father, the mother and other family members, although they were not abusive, were negligent with him because of the fear that the Father caused them, this situation caused little Tenko Shimura to develop a kind of complex that made him look for all cost the approval of his father (in this supposed scenario the only ones of his family who were good with him were his sister and his dog). One day Tenko's Quirk of disintegration simply manifested for the first time (Naturally as Eri and not by intervention of AFO) and that first manifestation was so strong that his Quirk almost immediately de-inked everything he touched, the little Tenko was desperately looking for help from his family but it ended up disintegrating them all by accident, All For One learned about these events and quickly took the opportunity, made no hero to approach or save Tenko and when he was alone and disconsolate the same All For One appeared to console him, the rest is history. This is basically my personal interpretation of Shigaraki's past, or rather what I would like it to be.
Ok. Well, this is my idea as to what has happened. I'm going to be going back in time. So Nana, as we all know, was the One For All User before All Might. At some point, she had kids and then her kids had a family. Now the question I first have is what power would Nana's family hold. Now One For All is a quirk that is passed down but when the user means for it to be. What would happen if Nana had a kid would they hold her quirk or not? I have the idea that the child of Nana wouldn't have One For All as a quirk but would have a quirk that amplifies their strength. If this is the case then that child of Nana would then have a family of their own. Now what quirk that partner will have is, of course, added into this but normally the quirk the children will get is normally a combination of both quirks. So my point is the partner of Nana's child could have a quirk that disintegrates things and Shigaraki could've got that but what about Shigaraki's sister. She was obviously a bit older than Shigaraki in the flashback and her quirk would've probably already been developed. If she had a quirk similar to Shigaraki maybe she would've done that same thing Shigaraki did so how did the family deal with that? If they could've dealt with his sister they could deal with him. This is why I think that Shigaraki had no quirk, to begin with. Of course, his sister could've developed a different quirk to Shigaraki or could develop it later but I'm going to be ignoring that route. So Shigaraki is born into a powerful family. His sister is strong. His Mother/ Father is strong. And he may actually be living a good life. The reason being that his family obviously had enough money to buy a dog so I don't believe they are living in poverty. Also, would Nana truly let her own family live in poverty? I believe Shigaraki loved his family dearly and he didn't develop a quirk. I think his family maybe were upset that he didn't develop one and he may have tried to run away from them (I know this is long but keep with me.) Then Shigaraki may run into someone who grabs hold of him and tells him to be more careful. That person being All For One. Now in this time where he touches Shigaraki, he gives him the manifestation quirk and manipulates his memories. All For One will manipulate Shigaraki's memory of his family being upset with him and making it massive so that Shigaraki thinks his family is going to kill him. I think Shigaraki will be found by his family and they will try to take him back home but he will hit them away from him. With that touch, it will kill them. He'll end up doing that in the open. This will make everyone stay away from him and view him as a villain. After that, I think he will just be in absolute shock and will go into the alleyway we see him in most of his flashbacks. Then All For One, having seen the entire event, will approach him and hug him. As soon as that happens he will release his mind-altering quirk and will take Shigaraki with him to the room that he had already prepared for him. After he takes back the mind-altering quirk all Shigaraki will remember is small flashes of his family dying and he won't remember what happens. I believe this is what happened with Shigaraki. Sorry for anyone who is reading this and well done if you reached the end. What do you think? Do you agree with this theory or not?
Coming back to this video after chapter 419 was crazy. I remember originally watching this video and thinking “wow, it’d be crazy if any of this is true” 💀
I think the idea that Tenko had a shitty past is still really likely. When it comes to Tenko's quirk I think that his 'mutation' was less literal and maybe more of a singularity like Eri's or the fact that he just didn't inherit his parent's quirk(s), my money is on the former because every time I see Nana and that she's wearing gloves I constantly think that she has a quirk similar to his. My idea was less on Memory Manipulation and more along the lines of Possession IF all for one is the one that actually killed his parents, this way rather than doing it and then telling Tomura that he's the one that did it. Honestly, I'm not even entirely for this version of the idea because it just puts the blame on AFO rather than someone else AND it gives Tomura a very clear out because it either wasn't something he could control or wasn't something he actually did in the first place. Lack of control is more appealing to me and I don't know why, but I do know that I'm still kinda holding my hopes for it being a truth hidden in a lie (1) his Quirk wasn't a mutation and was either a singularity or simply a more aggressive version of someone else's Quirk in his family line, (2) he doesn't remember anything because of some form of trauma caused by either the abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents [this is where I would accept mind control with a little less push than saying AFO controlled Tomura to do it], (3) there was no chance in their meeting because AFO knew exactly who they were and where they were, planning this since he killed Nana and All Might fled Japan.

I don't think deku should rely in one for all inorder to break out of the dispair after all mights death. It would make his death feel pointless and errase all the emotional weight in it. Horikoshi could make that deku became Kind of obsessed with all might's remanent and then his friends or bakugo snap him out of it. It would make it feel more real since all might is practically deku's father figure and also develop him as a character, having faced despair and actually broken free of it and not just running away by relying on a empty memory. That definitely sounds like a symbol of peace.
Chapter 95: It's revealed that Nana Shimura placed her grandchild in foster care and forbade her confidants to contact him. He didn't kill his bio-dad. The dad had to of died for Nana to have a say on Shigaraki ending up in foster care.

I'm not certain how many babies you've met but they typically don't remember a lot... It seems like the former like he wasn't use to the quirk as if it wasn't his. Furthermore to have that kind of range and will to want to change the way the world works to do what was ever required even killing requires a lot of pain it was the only way to make another All for one.

Well we seen all for one has " force quirk activation " so easy for him to implant shigaraki with decay wait a few years. Frustrated it hadn't activated yet and seeing the decendents of his rival still living well he just force activated it . Having absolutely no idea what's going on he touches people for help . It stops after a second and he thinks hes in the clear and then all for one just keeps activating it .
I think Shigaraki will break into the Tartarus to have All for One transfer his quirk to Shiggy (mirroring All Might/Deku) and then to kill him. Thus, Shigaraki will cement his spot as the king of the underworld and the inheritor All for One.

Not sure I agree with this, in c222 one of the flashbacks has something crumbling, which looks like a floor with a person running towards him on it. To me this could suggest that he didn't directly kill his family but rather that he cause the building to collapse.
Maybe shigerakis hands are from heroes he killed that used their hands for their quirks and the doctor told him to save them so he could try to find a way to use them
Shigaraki actually killed his family. He killed his dog on accident. Than he needed help from his sister, but he killed her too. He tried to hug his mother, but she was destroyed too quickly. He than killed his father who abused him. But he didnt mind he KILLED his father since his father would beat him

I always saw the two villains like the Joker and Two-Face from the dark night movie. All for one seems like the type of person to bring the worst out of people. His fight with all might in s3 made me think on this idea when I first saw the anime.

Which leads me to one other theory of mine : In the end Shigaraki might learn the truth and actually be the one to kill AFO, then becoming the true king of evil. Yeah, like Siths.

All For One was clearly tracking Nana’s family, but its just too coincidental that he scoops up Tenko right after he accidentally killed his whole family.
I really think All For One gave Shigaraki the "Decay" Quirk when he was a kid after finding out who he was so that he would kill his family and go down a dark path
I could see this as a possibility. Isn't Horikoshi's goal right now to blurr the line between hero and villian, as well as the innocent and the guilty? This could be a very effective way of doing that.
All for One has a touch based memory alteration quirk. The Doctor informs All for One about a boy with a disintegration perk. Deku’s father dies fighting All for One via disintegration during a doctors visit. All for One takes Deku home and alters his mother’s memories and altering his memories. He hears word that Nana Shimura’s grandson is quirkless. After slaying Shigaraki’s family he takes a shell shocked Shigaraki and alters his memories. Shigaraki has Deku’s perk, and All for One can’t resist trying to manipulate the quirkless. I feel like the author is saving a few doctors visits for a rainy day. All for One is the oldest villain that we know of in MHA and I think he knows that in order to manipulate people they have to be doing “what they want to do”. I think All for One has been purposefully allowing for things to happen for decades and once he fought All Might he knew he had to focus on an endgame plot. It’s possible that All for One can body hop at the point of death to someone he’s given a perk to, and that the vestiges in One for All are an echo of this effect. I think he has been cultivating power in One for All for a long time and at some point he’s going to try to collect.
As far as Shigaraki having a mutated quirk different from his parents, we do have precedence for that with Eri, who also accidentally killed a family member when she suddenly developed a power that nobody could have expected. It's a rare situation, but not one that's unheard of.
That said, what is REALLY fishy is the idea that Shigaraki disintegrated his family with his quirk and all that was left were their hands. As far as we know, unless something happens to stop it before it finishes, Shigaraki's quirk disintegrates whoever or whatever he touches until there's nothing left.
I think his decay quirk requires some kind of energy that he emits from his finger tips when I first awakened it killed the dog in his panicked state he runs reaching for his family but the stress makes the quirk unstable and lessens the effect causing it to stop within certain proximities like the hands

The answer for this was in the manga 2 weeks ago. He killed his own family and the hands are all that's left.
What if so much of what Shigaraki tells us is true? It is possible that his fragmented memory before All For One found him is due to a psychological defense mechanism, this is a very common symptom in people who have suffered severe traumas during childhood.
I believe that AFO already knew of the existence of Nana Shimura's son and for a long time he was simply watching him, he formed a family with a younger son named Tenko, this child was born with a rare deformity on his face (the wrinkles on top of his face) said deformity to Tenko's father reminded him of the dark look of his mother Nana when she left him that is why he was always much harder and cynical with him than with the rest of his family to the point of becoming An abusive father, the mother and other family members, although they were not abusive, were negligent with him because of the fear that the Father caused them, this situation caused little Tenko Shimura to develop a kind of complex that made him look for all cost the approval of his father (in this supposed scenario the only ones of his family who were good with him were his sister and his dog).
One day Tenko's Quirk of disintegration simply manifested for the first time (Naturally as Eri and not by intervention of AFO) and that first manifestation was so strong that his Quirk almost immediately de-inked everything he touched, the little Tenko was desperately looking for help from his family but it ended up disintegrating them all by accident, All For One learned about these events and quickly took the opportunity, made no hero to approach or save Tenko and when he was alone and disconsolate the same All For One appeared to console him, the rest is history.
This is basically my personal interpretation of Shigaraki's past, or rather what I would like it to be.
Ok. Well, this is my idea as to what has happened. I'm going to be going back in time. So Nana, as we all know, was the One For All User before All Might. At some point, she had kids and then her kids had a family. Now the question I first have is what power would Nana's family hold. Now One For All is a quirk that is passed down but when the user means for it to be. What would happen if Nana had a kid would they hold her quirk or not? I have the idea that the child of Nana wouldn't have One For All as a quirk but would have a quirk that amplifies their strength. If this is the case then that child of Nana would then have a family of their own. Now what quirk that partner will have is, of course, added into this but normally the quirk the children will get is normally a combination of both quirks. So my point is the partner of Nana's child could have a quirk that disintegrates things and Shigaraki could've got that but what about Shigaraki's sister. She was obviously a bit older than Shigaraki in the flashback and her quirk would've probably already been developed. If she had a quirk similar to Shigaraki maybe she would've done that same thing Shigaraki did so how did the family deal with that? If they could've dealt with his sister they could deal with him. This is why I think that Shigaraki had no quirk, to begin with. Of course, his sister could've developed a different quirk to Shigaraki or could develop it later but I'm going to be ignoring that route. So Shigaraki is born into a powerful family. His sister is strong. His Mother/ Father is strong. And he may actually be living a good life. The reason being that his family obviously had enough money to buy a dog so I don't believe they are living in poverty. Also, would Nana truly let her own family live in poverty? I believe Shigaraki loved his family dearly and he didn't develop a quirk. I think his family maybe were upset that he didn't develop one and he may have tried to run away from them (I know this is long but keep with me.) Then Shigaraki may run into someone who grabs hold of him and tells him to be more careful. That person being All For One. Now in this time where he touches Shigaraki, he gives him the manifestation quirk and manipulates his memories. All For One will manipulate Shigaraki's memory of his family being upset with him and making it massive so that Shigaraki thinks his family is going to kill him. I think Shigaraki will be found by his family and they will try to take him back home but he will hit them away from him. With that touch, it will kill them. He'll end up doing that in the open. This will make everyone stay away from him and view him as a villain. After that, I think he will just be in absolute shock and will go into the alleyway we see him in most of his flashbacks. Then All For One, having seen the entire event, will approach him and hug him. As soon as that happens he will release his mind-altering quirk and will take Shigaraki with him to the room that he had already prepared for him. After he takes back the mind-altering quirk all Shigaraki will remember is small flashes of his family dying and he won't remember what happens. I believe this is what happened with Shigaraki. Sorry for anyone who is reading this and well done if you reached the end. What do you think? Do you agree with this theory or not?

I think the idea that Tenko had a shitty past is still really likely.
When it comes to Tenko's quirk I think that his 'mutation' was less literal and maybe more of a singularity like Eri's or the fact that he just didn't inherit his parent's quirk(s), my money is on the former because every time I see Nana and that she's wearing gloves I constantly think that she has a quirk similar to his.
My idea was less on Memory Manipulation and more along the lines of Possession IF all for one is the one that actually killed his parents, this way rather than doing it and then telling Tomura that he's the one that did it. Honestly, I'm not even entirely for this version of the idea because it just puts the blame on AFO rather than someone else AND it gives Tomura a very clear out because it either wasn't something he could control or wasn't something he actually did in the first place.
Lack of control is more appealing to me and I don't know why, but I do know that I'm still kinda holding my hopes for it being a truth hidden in a lie (1) his Quirk wasn't a mutation and was either a singularity or simply a more aggressive version of someone else's Quirk in his family line, (2) he doesn't remember anything because of some form of trauma caused by either the abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents [this is where I would accept mind control with a little less push than saying AFO controlled Tomura to do it], (3) there was no chance in their meeting because AFO knew exactly who they were and where they were, planning this since he killed Nana and All Might fled Japan.
What if all for one used one of his forced activation quirks? Wouldn't put it past him.

I don't think deku should rely in one for all inorder to break out of the dispair after all mights death. It would make his death feel pointless and errase all the emotional weight in it. Horikoshi could make that deku became Kind of obsessed with all might's remanent and then his friends or bakugo snap him out of it. It would make it feel more real since all might is practically deku's father figure and also develop him as a character, having faced despair and actually broken free of it and not just running away by relying on a empty memory. That definitely sounds like a symbol of peace.
Chapter 95: It's revealed that Nana Shimura placed her grandchild in foster care and forbade her confidants to contact him. He didn't kill his bio-dad. The dad had to of died for Nana to have a say on Shigaraki ending up in foster care.

I'm not certain how many babies you've met but they typically don't remember a lot... It seems like the former like he wasn't use to the quirk as if it wasn't his. Furthermore to have that kind of range and will to want to change the way the world works to do what was ever required even killing requires a lot of pain it was the only way to make another All for one.

All for one probably used a memory manipulator quirk to screw with shigaraki to basically manipulate him into being a villian.

Well we seen all for one has " force quirk activation " so easy for him to implant shigaraki with decay wait a few years. Frustrated it hadn't activated yet and seeing the decendents of his rival still living well he just force activated it . Having absolutely no idea what's going on he touches people for help . It stops after a second and he thinks hes in the clear and then all for one just keeps activating it .
I think Shigaraki will break into the Tartarus to have All for One transfer his quirk to Shiggy (mirroring All Might/Deku) and then to kill him. Thus, Shigaraki will cement his spot as the king of the underworld and the inheritor All for One.

Not sure I agree with this, in c222 one of the flashbacks has something crumbling, which looks like a floor with a person running towards him on it.
To me this could suggest that he didn't directly kill his family but rather that he cause the building to collapse.
Maybe shigerakis hands are from heroes he killed that used their hands for their quirks and the doctor told him to save them so he could try to find a way to use them
Shigaraki actually killed his family. He killed his dog on accident. Than he needed help from his sister, but he killed her too. He tried to hug his mother, but she was destroyed too quickly. He than killed his father who abused him. But he didnt mind he KILLED his father since his father would beat him

While tragic, I do feel that Shigaraki may not be a compelte tragic villian. AFO said he was born twisted. maybe the damaged memory is the fact that he is trying to hide the real truth. That he always have been twisted.
I agre that AFO is the true monster. But Shigaraki is not to be redeemed either.
