    I love that Indians never forget their culture. I don't know any Indians but they seem like the nicest people. I loved the hints of Bhangra, everwhere in this dance.

      Same idea in Nocturnal Dance Company in terms of choosing the ethnic sounds in which the crew got 2nd place during the WOD preliminaries in the Philippines. What about Desi Hoppers? They never competed in any WOD competition ever so how did they even get invited to be a part of the finals?

      +japson cruz sync was not amazing, but I agree with your point, I, however, loved much more other presentations, but I guess I don't have enough expertise to judge the hole picture. I do have to say that their moves are oddly smooth, it´s crazy how smooth some moves sometimes looked; that I loved.

    I dont care what anyone says, THIS is the epitomy of World of Dance. The whole point is to show that Dance is one thing that brings the world together, and it is so obviously portrayed in this choreography. I think think is amazing.

  • @alvinnguyen3163
    @alvinnguyen3163 8 лет назад +729

    The style of choreography is very refreshing. It seems very pure, honest hip-hop, and I love it!. Through their performance, they didn't try to convey sex appeal or badass-ness. They genuinely looked like they were having fun and the epitome of this is represented in the "Old McDonald" scene. Hip hop really does not need to "be so serious". Oh and I loved how the spelled out 'WOD'. It makes their performance unique as if the choreography is actually in dialogue with the World of Dance audience rather than being a commodity (recycled choreography for profit).

We love to dance n have so many cultures than any other country can have. In every street of India you can find a dancer who is better than average outsider. But our most favorite dance form is BARATI DANCE which no can master except the subcontinent people...

      Amber Gonzalez According to WOD rules 5 members per team is necessary...so after meeting the minimum requirement, it completely is the prerogative of the team's to decide on the maximum number of dancers they want to have in the team.
      Btw team co-ordination has got nothing to do with the number of dancers on stage. A team with 4 dancers can have terrible co-ordination if not rehearsed properly.

I was Bollywood lover since childhood from their neighbouring country NEPAL. And I loved Indian Dance reality show the most than others shows. But I haven't touched with that now. I'm far from my home having my own phone. So that excitement n enjoyable days like back then while watching TV isn't happen now while watching on RUclips. Since I'm Into K-pop more now so sometimes I used to watch new Bollywood n South movies n sometimes old one.

      Exactly !!
      this is what makes me feel really sad.
      It's like Jo dikhta hai wahi bikta hai
      Even tho Kings United were the first to score 3rd position in HHI *BUT Desi Hoppers is the first Indian dance team to ever possess 1st position in The WOD ( that too is an independent dance competition unlike NBC WOD ) in the entire world representing India.
      None gave much exposure and support to them. Watching them in still a struggling phase beats the core of my heart.
      The Kings got a movie based upon them for being 3rd in a competition
      Desi Hoppers holds 1st position ( the very first Indian team to be 1st in International dance competition ever)...
      People : I'm sorry who are they ?
      They Kings...Oh they will get one more movies based upon them now
      Their choreographer is looking forward to get into Bollywood and getting approached to be a judge on TV shows now, commercialises the hell out of his dance academy as well.
      So if Desi Hoppers can't get more exposure, respect and appreciation then they still deserves the equivalent to the Kings at least.
      Thanks for pointing this out, at least someone i found concerned about it. Otherwise my trust from our citizens for facts like this doesn't scale much.

  • @kushalcool05

    The most important reason they won was that they showed something unique on stage where no other team could show. Be it music, steps, formations everything was unique, most importantly they incorporated the INDIAN CULTURE, HATS OFF!! and Truth is always bitter so it will be tough time for haters to digest the fact who got defeated in their own land from a team which they couldnt even imagine in their dreams...

    I’m going to be honest- at first, I was amused but didn’t really see why they won 1st. However, the longer I watched the more fun I had! They really picked it up in the second half. I _loved_ the drop after the first “turn down for what”.
    Honestly, I think another reason I was kinda ‘they alright’ in the beginning is that I wasn’t expecting seeing something like this in a hip-hop competition. I was really used to the hardcore ‘I’m a bad boy/girl’ dancing. The more I watched and thought about it, I gained appreciation for their uniqueness.

    The Bollywood dance style is a beautiful blend of all Indian dance styles be it classical Indian dance, folk Indian dance or the more current R&B, hip hop music. Some people love Bollywood dances because there are no defined rules like classical dance styles. Some people love Bollywood because it exposes them to Indian culture. Others enjoy the vibrant music and colorful outfits. Whatever the reason, Bollywood dancing is a small glimpse into Indian culture that everyone should experience!

If another race was doing that same set we wouldn't praise them for being a different race, but on their set and that's the case here. If people are bashing or criticizing them again it's not cause they're Indian, but because their set wasn't that good. Praise Teams set was way better and their from Canada. That's my two cents, take it they way you want, but realize that we are talking about the SET NOT because they're Indian.

    So basically according to all these haters here, an Indian crew like DH should not get a chance to perform at WoD finals simply because there is no such thing as "WOD India" through which they would have qualified. So if India is too poor to have it's own World of Dance, we aren't allowed to participate?
    Seriously? How racist is that? You people are what's wrong with the world.
    Shut up and appreciate.

    • @kidprep
      @kidprep 9 лет назад +1

      Shivam Patil Yes. Thats not racist, just fair to the other crews. Atleast if their video submission got them into a world of dance competition, but not skip straight to the finals. And nobody is saying that Desi is a bad crew either. The issue is not with the crew, but more of what COULD have happend behind the scenes to get them a win that they could have been unaware about. And keep in mind, this is a DISNEY reality show were talking about, so a happy ending is pretty much bound to happen at the end of 99.9% disney shows and movies. The dance world for the most part is pure. Most dancers who are the most well known are HIGHLY skilled, unlike in the music industry were clown rappers get boosted to the top while the best remain in the mostly unheard underground. For example, is two chains sells more records than Logic (goodundergroundish rapper) does that make two chains more skilled as a rapper? Or does two chains have a label with a lot of money that he is signed to.? If the dance world takes that route, it may stay on that path for who knows how long. So this is not to attack Desi as a crew, but a fight to preserve the balance in WOD.

    • @zaara196
      @zaara196 9 лет назад +13

      kidprep Their journey is the only thing the show is following, the boys are like any regular teenagers who just needed some sponsorship for training since they wouldn't be able to afford to train and travel otherwise. The team throughout only had one dream, to dance and entertain at WOD, that's it. And they mentioned that from the start months ago. Everything else was a blessing and celebrated by everyone, no one intended to do anything behind the scenes. Many of these guys have been competing at national levels for years, so they very well know and appreciate the about the integrity of these things. Since some are new members, a new team name was formed. Believe us when we say it, since we've been following their work for years. Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they're not known. Most Indian artists, even if known by billion Indians often are not known by most non-Indians, who assume they might not be popular. And just because they won in first live attempt doesn't mean one cannot have the talent/skills to win at first attempt. Pls don't spread false things without getting any proof, if you have questions, ask WOD, and get it clarified.

      National Flag of India
      Indian Flag
      The National Flag of India is a national symbol designed in horizontal rectangular shape. It is designed using three colours such as deep saffron (top most), white (middle) and India green (lower most). The middle white colour contains navy blue Ashoka Chakra (means Wheel of Law) in the centre having 24 spokes in the wheel. The present form of the national flag was adopted in the meeting of Constituent Assembly on 22nd of July in 1947. The present Indian Flag was declared as the official flag by the authority of India. As Indian Flag contains three colours, it is also called as Tiranga. It is based on Swaraj flag (means flag of Indian National Congress, designed by Pingali Venkayya).
      Meaning and Significance of Indian Flag
      The national flag of India is also known as Tricolour Flag means Tiranga as it contains tricolours. Indian flag is designed-horizontally using three colour, wheel in the centre and Khadi clothe. The national flag was adopted on 22nd of July in 1947 in the wake of Indian independence from British rule. Indian Flag was designed and adopted as a symbol of the nationalism and freedom.
      Indian flag means a lot for us. It is our symbol of unity to lead us on one common way of Dharma even after being of different faiths and religions of Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. The tricolour and Ashoka Chakra (means Wheel of Law) of the Indian flag reveals some meanings which are as follows:
      Saffron Colour
      Saffron Colour of Indian Flag

It is the common and religiously significant color of the religions like Hindu, Buddhist and Jain. Saffron colour indicates renunciation and absolution of the ego of the people belongs to different religion and unites to become one. Saffron colour is of great significance which reminds political leaders to devote towards the nation as well as perform their work dedicatedly only for the goodness of the nation without seeking any personal benefits.
      White Colour
      White Colour of Indian Flag
      The middle part of the Indian national flag is designed using white colour which represents the honesty, purity and peace of the nation. According to the Indian philosophy, white colour also represents the cleanliness and knowledge. It lightens the path of truth in order to guide the nation. Green Colour
      Green Colour of Indian Flag
      The lowermost part of the Indian national flag is designed using the green colour which represents the faith, fertility and prosperity of the nation. According to the philosophy of India, green colour is a festive and stabilizing color which represents the life and happiness. It indicates the greenery of earth all over the India. It reminds the Indian political leaders to lead the country by protecting the Indian soil from destruction by both, external and internal enemies.
      Ashoka Chakra and 24 Spokes
      Ashoka Chakra and 24 Spokes
      According to the Hindu religion, the meaning number 24 is of great significance in the Puranas. Ashok Chakra is considered as the Dharma Chakra which is also known as the Samay Chakra. Ashok Chakra contains 24 spokes in the centre which represents the 24 precious hours of the whole day. It also represents 24 Dharma Rishis of the Hindu religion Who wielded whole power of the Gayatri Mantra (a most powerful mantra of the Hindu religion). All 24 Dharma Rishis of the Himalayas gets represented with 24 letters of the eternal Gayatri Mantra (first one represents the Vishvamitra whereas last one represents the Yajnavalkya who governs religion means Dharma).
      Keeping Ashok Chakra in the middle of Indian Flag has a great history behind. Many years ago, Lord Buddha got nirvana means Enlightenment in the Gaya. After getting nirvana he turned to Sarnath, Varanasi where he met with his five disciples (means panch vargiya Bhikshu) named like Kaundinya, Ashwajeet, Bhadrak, Mahanaam, and Kashyap. Lord Buddha preached them his first sermon describing and distributing the Dharmachakra. This was taken by the King Ashoka to represent on the top of his pillars which later become the base of origin this chakra as an Ashok Chakra in the centre of Indian flag. The presence of Ashok Chakra in the national flag indicates the strong bond of nation with Buddhist faith.
      The 12 spokes indicates the teachings of the Lord Buddha however another 12 are paired with their equivalent symbols such as: Avidya (means lack of knowledge), Samskara (means a shaper), Vijnana (means consciousness), Namarupa (means name and form), Sadayatana (means six senses like ear, eye, tongue, nose, body, and mind), Sparsa (means contact), Vedana (means pain), Trsna (means thirst), Upadana (means grasp), Bhava (means coming to be), Jati (means being born), Jaramarana (means old age) and death.
      Why Ashok Chakra is in Navy Blue Colour
      Navy blue colour, of the Ashok Chakra in the centre of the white strip of the national flag, indicates the most truth of the universe. It represents the color of sky and ocean.
