Bama sees all of this all season in practice. Bama looked bad against multiple teams this year that run stuff that wasn't like there's.

You cannot really make judgments on how good a team is based upon their opponents bowl performances. For the most part teams are checked out for their bowls
FSU fans claimed that they should have been in the playoffs even without Jordan Travis, as if losing a star QB wouldn't make their team a lot weaker. After getting humiliated by Georgia, their excuse is that they were missing players. Hmm, losing the star QB wouldn't make a difference, but the other players did?
Alabama is lucky to have even been in that game. UM played their B game and still won. The last 4 minutes and overtime was the real UM team. They should wipe the floor with Washington.
Michigan did all they could to give it to Alabama. Still dominated the first half, then turned it on at the end to take it. I had my doubts about Michigan. Usually teams don't get away with those mistakes against Bama. But they kicked their butts solidly. Roll Tears. I hope Mich-Wash is a good one.
Michigan has dominated every team they've played this year, the only reason this game was close was because Michigan Special Team ls tried to give it away
I agree with the whole sentiment about this bama team not being what it has been in previous years. You always hear coaches talk about how big games come down to a hand full of plays. I think bama was obviously a good football team but when it was time to win those few plays, they didn’t have what it took this year.

@zippy3984because it's supposed to be the 4 best teams. You're really going to say the team that was number 1 all year that lost 1 game by 3 points was not one of the 4 best teams in the nation? It's bs and politics. Texas beat Alabama at the beginning of the year and therefore they deserved to be in? They came all the way up from 7 or 8 and Georgia dropped to 6. Never before has the #1 team ever been dropped out of the top 4 based on 1 loss at the end of the season.
Michigan was just awesome and just made more progress than we have All season and congratulations to you you guys and hope you guys win the championship against Washington next Monday let's go blue.😊
First of all, gg’s to Michigan and Washington. On FSU: “They did this to themselves.” I have no idea what he’s talking about. The program got knifed before anything controversial with the administration and lawsuit ever took place.
You know that pisses Big Ten fans and elsewhere off that these two spent 90 of the show talking about Georgia and Alabama instead of Washington and Michigan!😅
Granted I’m a Michigan fan, but I watch college all day every Saturday. I’ve watched every CFP semifinal and championship. Never seen Bama so thoroughly dominated in the trenches. Michigan doesn’t make those special teams mistakes(miffed punt, completely botched snap and hold on a PAT, poor punting) and this could have been lopsided. Bama capitalized when it could on those mistakes and made it a game and put Michigan in its first “need to score 7” drive of the year and they got it. Granted, special teams almost blew it again at the end, but I knew OT would play out like it did
I'm a lifelong BAMA fan, and I have said all year long that Milroe was over rated. He's a good quarterback, but he's not elite. As Alabama fans, we all have gotten used to exceptional players at particular positions, Regardless of the outcome, they're still my team. I don't disagree with anything Finebaum said..
Thankfully, at least one Bama fan with perspective. Good respectful kid with a positive attitude. However, he is not the elite QB that that the media sold us for 2 months.
I feel the same. We have been surviving all season, and it caught up to us. We have a chance to win any game with Milroe, but there is always that uneasy feeling. It was clearly evident that he had trouble reading defenses because he took too long to throw the ball. We abandoned the run game, which was terrible.
Milroe has developed alot this year but he’s a far cry ,as of now , to his predecessors ( Hurts, Tua , Mac and Bryce) he will be back and I expect him to improve.
Thank God somebody else realized this cause the media (except for Klatt) doesn't. O'Brien was actually correct, but of course, the media exaggerated his supposed statements (we only heard one side). Milroe is very athletic and a good QB. He is not a great QB, and he won't play QB at the next level. This wasn't one of Saban's better Bama teams. However, it was one of his greatest coaching jobs.
They are very careful to mention Georgia’s opt outs but not FSU’s, OSU’s, PSU’s, or Iowa’s. I wonder which conference their employers have the Tier 1 media rights for?
Outside of the Georgia game. Alabama struggle to beat mediocre teams all year long. Only SEC homers and ESPN wanted to keep paint them in a different light. FSU could had did that. 116 yards passing with their starting Qb
@kendalllodman fsu would have gotten embarrassed like the whiny, complaining program they are. Your qb in the Louisville game mustered a big 55 yards and what was in 2 ints... lol. The SEC more recently has been carried by Georgia and to a lesser degree Bama. Top to bottom it’s not the gauntlet it used to be and that is evident by their out of conference record and by distribution of draft picks in the first few rounds.
@zippy3984The problem is people act like there’s not bad teams in the SEC. Arkansas, Kentucky, MSU, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are bad on a yearly basis. Florida has also been mediocre at best for a decade now
@zippy3984 Big Ten would have had 3 teams in. Oregon and Washington are also joining that conference for what it’s worth. But to your other point trust me no one complains when Georgia and Alabama are beating up on those yearly bad teams. Yet when Michigan beats people like Indiana, Illinois etc it’s always brought up
Alabama lost by 10 at home. They struggled to win against teams that weren't even in power 5 conferences. They saw what Auburn did all year. They saw New Mexico State beat Auburn 31 - 10 a week before the Bama game. Then they watched Bama get extremely lucky to beat Auburn. Then Bama managed to win against possibly the flattest Georgia performance in 3 years. I won some bank this bowl season, as did anyone else who paid attention, and filtered out the noise. These were the easiest games to predict against the spread with all the opt outs and mismatches.
They also beat UGA who went 13-1 and was on a 29-0 winning streak, they beat 11-2 Ole Miss who rolled Penn State and they beat 10-3 LSU and 9-4 TENN who both won bowl games over other Power 5 teams from the BIG10.
@@palermotrapani9067 Yes, but you gotta be careful using most bowl games (outside of the CFB) as an accurate evaluation because many players aren't playing or not playing hard. The bowl season is dying because of it.
@@scratchpenny I agree about bowl games in general, but Penn State, Iowa and Wisconsin were all full strength. LSU-Wisconsin both teams wanted to be there, same with Penn State and Ole Miss and TENN-Iowa. LSU was without JD5 but everyone else played. Bama beat those teams at full strength.
Penn state was not full strength. 3 first rounders and a second rounder did not play. Yall just make stuff up on here. Chop Robinsin, Olu Fashanu, Kalen King, and Johnny Dixon. All them dudes are nice and opted out. Wisconsin was garbage this year and Iowa had no offense.
So Missouri beating OSU and Ole Miss beating Penn State is evidence that the SEC is better than the big 10, but maryland thumping Auburn is not valid to consider? Cool double standard
We knew all year Bama wasn't all that, but they just HAD to be in the playoff instead of an unbeaten P5 team.... ridiculous. Of course it would be IMPOSSIBLE for just one year to keep the SEC out when there was clearly an unequivocal reason to do so. Ridiculous.
No worries for the SEC - Georgia and Alabama will be back next year as will Ole Miss, Missouri, Tennessee, and LSU. 2024 is going to be absolutely brutal in the SEC.

The playoff committee made this happen by showing them on the field play meant nothing!!! Well over half those starters that went 13-0, the MAJORITY OF ALL OF THEM in fact, never even touched the field against GA. The committe did that, not FSU, not the players, THE COMMITTEE. Michigan dominated the 1st half but BAMA controlled the 2nd half until the 4 minute mark. Then Michigan made big plays and got very fortunate on the dropped punt. Give the guy that tackled Milroe in the open field in OT a game ball. QB made a huge play by catching that backwards pass as it would have been a huge turnover. Good game that BAMA will regret the decision to not keep running after that substitution penalty.
The only reason that the game was close, was Michigan special teams. Check the game stats, Alabama didn't dominate. Michigan 6 sacks 10 tackles for a loss, Alabama 1 and 1.
To be fair with the bowl games, the Big Ten had way too many of their stars skip the games compared to their opponents. Ohio State wouldn’t suck so bad if they had their stars playing.
@@Hamp72 I still say they lost, but there is a problem where almost all the bowl games outside of the CFP matter less. Many schools don't care anymore, and their stars are already thinking about going pro. The bowl system is about about done, especially after next year with the expanded CFP.

I'm so glad that two undefeated teams are in the National Championship game, in fact, I predicted it. And both Bama and Texas played like they were seventh and eighth ranked one loss teams that they were in the National College Football playoffs. The CFP, ESPN, SEC, and Big 12 still all jerked FSU as well. The Georgia game in the Orange Bowl was meaningless because FSU didn't even play their starters and second-string rotations on both sides of the ball.
Alabama stole Florida State's bicycle only to find out that they couldn't ride it without falling. That makes them look sleazy and silly at the same time. As for the talking heads on ESPN, they now know what everybody who watched the Alabama-Auburn game already knew: Alabama was overrated...ALL.SEASON.LONG.
The playoff teams were fortunate that Georgia was left out. Michigan is good but Alabama has been weak with out of conference play all season. Where that is Georgia strength
But they're the ones forgetting every year that defense typically wins championships. Them being wrong here (and those who beat that defense drum were right) at least means they underrated FSU. Verse and FSU's front 7 would have absolutely feasted on Bama's pass defense. They were just very lucky this year that pass rush is where UGA was lacking.
The SEC was not good this year. They should have been left out of the playoffs. Losing non conference record….26-28 vs the ACC over the last 5 years…. They are not a dominant conference anymore. It’s over.
You know what?!!, let's just not have playoffs. Let's just not play the sport period, Just give Alabama the trophy every yr. Everyon3 has a fit if AL does not get in or does not win. Bama looked good against GA b/c they run very similar offensive and defensive schemes. Saban knows all of Kirby's defensive schemes, he worked for him. GA runs essentially the same offense as Bama. Bama sees all of this all season in practice. Bama looked bad against multiple teams this year that run stuff that wasn't like there's.
@zippy3984 Game wasn't at all boring. You don't like a 20- 27 game So, I guess you like the no defense shootouts where teams are just running up and down the field and everybody gets 40 or more points.
U guys are biased Alabama is over why don't they play Georgia every year like Ohio. State and Michigan do to give them an advantage in the playoffs
@zippy3984 Michigan/Alabama game was boring???? Lol!

I was about to say, Auburn runs a pin and pull run offense and so does Michigan and with how Alabama handled Auburn I was somewhat confident.
You cannot really make judgments on how good a team is based upon their opponents bowl performances. For the most part teams are checked out for their bowls
Right. Bowl games are glorified exhibitions. In the game that actually mattered, Michigan beat Alabama.

FineBum still can't accept that UM won.
Get use to it!!!
And Alabama coundnt snap the ball and took it to overtime with the number 1 team what is your point
Michigan has dominated every team they've played this year, the only reason this game was close was because Michigan Special Team ls tried to give it away
espn overvalues paul finebaum. don't forget paul bo jackson played for auburn not bama.
I agree with the whole sentiment about this bama team not being what it has been in previous years. You always hear coaches talk about how big games come down to a hand full of plays. I think bama was obviously a good football team but when it was time to win those few plays, they didn’t have what it took this year.
Did Paul remove his head from Saban's bunghole yet? What happened Bama? Did your boosters not give enough money to the CFP to have it go your way?

First of all, gg’s to Michigan and Washington. On FSU: “They did this to themselves.” I have no idea what he’s talking about. The program got knifed before anything controversial with the administration and lawsuit ever took place.
You know that pisses Big Ten fans and elsewhere off that these two spent 90 of the show talking about Georgia and Alabama instead of Washington and Michigan!😅
LOL, it's really weird hearing Finebaum heap praise on Coach Harbaugh and the Michigan Football Team.
Granted, special teams almost blew it again at the end, but I knew OT would play out like it did
Yea Michigan out Bama’d Bama lol.
As a Buckeye fan I’d like to see Michigan go and get that National title!!!

Alabama lost by 10 at home. They struggled to win against teams that weren't even in power 5 conferences. They saw what Auburn did all year. Then, FSU wins their conference championship, and OVERNIGHT, 13 morons behind closed doors drop them, and slide Texas and Bama ahead. Texas and Bama both have LOST a game already. They killed an *undefeated* 13-0 power 5 conference champ, to throw in two teams that already showed they can LOSE. All because they couldnt leave out a 1 loss SEC Saban. And guess what, they both got into the playoff, played undefeated teams, and LOST AGAIN. They showed you, both TX and Bama, YET AGAIN, that they can LOSE. Now they LOST TWICE. As where the 13-0 FSU team never showed they could be beaten. Sure, GA stomped FSU ***after*** the CFB committee killed the program, but GA didnt beat THE STARTERS that went the entire season and conf championship 13-0. Statistically speaking, those guys werent there. They beat on mentally broken 2nd and 3rd string freshmen with no reason to play at all. I think alabama was caught off guard by michigans size and speed.

Mostly because the talking heads undervalue Michigan continuously.
