great one! thank you for the interview. they are my favorite "new" death metal band. i listen extreme music since 90s, and they are the greatest thing i heard in the last decade or so. truly unique and masterful music. feels like the great ones like incantation, morbid angel, and similar, but still very unique.
Human Crab Shells (2026) is the fifth studio album by American death metal band Blood Incantation. The release broke records as the first album to win a grammy, an Oscar *and* a Nobel peace price and is largely credited as being the main catalyst for the achievement of world peace (2027)
Saw Blood Incantation for my first time back in october with cannibal corpse, gorguts and mayhem and i gotta say they are absolutely a great live band. New fan for life now
Eh it’s just the hair. Holding onto it for dear life with all due respect of course but I think it’s kinda badass. Saw them live a while back, the banging looked so “raw” cause of the hair 😂
We aren't friends but I've known this dude for years and its cool to see how successful he's been. Check out his Funeral doom band Merkstave! I use to get a bit annoyed about Leech's logo looking just like Taake, seems a silly thing to concern myself with now. Pretty sure I saw them play an outdoor metal show in the mountains in Washington once, like 20 years ago.
Yeah Leech was how I first heard about him and the whole Salem crew, can't say I was a huge fan at the time but also had mixed feelings about a lot of local Black metal. He also did some ambient stuff too one I think was called Moon landing with other guys from Leech I believe, that was a good set. @@TimberWolf44
Wow, I’m surprised you interviewed him. I remember meeting him at a small hometown show in 2016 back when they were still local. Blood Inc have grown so much since then, and I’ll always great memories of those early local shows. I kinda see them as a bunch of hipsters nowadays, but Paul is definitely for real. Great musician!
Yeah their demise as a metal band is coming soon, i mean all that synth jazz shit they've thrown in just makes it obvious that most of them dont care/listen to metal at all right now.
I would not make the same bet, tho. A lot of metal artists have gone a bit of a side track here and there or done an interlude-like release only to come back stronger. We shall wait and see. And for what it’s worth: their dreamy ambience is great to listen to.
@@plamenvjecnogcrnila it’s totally impossible to enjoy or listen to multiple styles of music at the same time, nobody has ever done that or ever been influenced by different styles of music either.
@@plamenvjecnogcrnila Imagine one's musical interest is only leaning towards one side. All this metalheads shitting their pants while hearing their latest Ambient/New Age output was absolutely hilarious. For their creative effort they definitely deserve the praise they got, while I agree that Blood Incantation is a bit overhyped overall, like 200 Stab Wounds, Frozen Grave etc.

I live in West Virginia and missed the Louisville, KY show on Oct 21, 2023. I would definitely go to the next show that swings by this area again.
WOW! Awesome! Also, Friday! 🤌🤌🤌

Really good interview
One of the very few bands which managed to trigger my interest in the last few years. Thanks for the interview!
My pleasure!
Great band and Interview 💪
I fucking love the interview as always Jerry. I also love Blood Incantation a lot, and even got to meet Paul last week. Super chill guy!
Fantastic!
I've met Paul and talked to him many times. Incredibly nice dude.
Blood Incantation seems to grasp better than most that to be human is both life and death.
Damn. What happened to homeboy? He's years younger than me yet looks older than me.

Great band. Heavily influenced by Demilich.
Fantastic interview. Sunn 0))) and Blood Incantation!!
Thank you!
Two of my favorite bands!
@28:42 why does he adopt a German scientist accent sometimes?
Just got into these dudes man i love there music really good stuff 🤘❤️
fantastic. paul does a great job at explaining his thoughts here, great to hear the theory but also a preview of the near future for BI
He's like if Lazlo from Real Genius created a death metal band

Love this guy.. he deserves all our support
What did Euronymous listend to when he died? Cloud Shelf Cyborg i cant find that anywhere!?
Klaus Schulze - Cyborg he was a German electronic music pioneer who also played in Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel.
thanks for answering :)@@protectandsurvivelivinghis3206
Sick interview, Jerry!
Cheers!
My mans read alot of philosophy and then dropped acid before this interview. Then the person who cut and mixed this took DMT and mixed the audio.
I don't think there was much of a mix. Probably sounds like that because of compression etc.
I'm coming over for Christmas.
what's wrong with the audio, sometimes it subpar then Glitch Black Metal
Hard to say this latee. Do you mean certain moments? Timestamp?
@@RautaMetal for example 1:56 - actually I coulnd't listen longer, but thanks for the effort, appreciate anything from this band!
@el_dani The glitch must be at your end becuase over here it just worked fine. Have you tried another device?
What kind of jacket is he wearing?
Can't really say, I didn't pay attention to his jacket.
