I miss reno, born and raised there. I just moved to southern California about 2 weeks ago and I'm starting to get homesick. Although reno is small you'll always find something to do.
Thanks for your comment.I hope California grows on you.I live in Texas but if I ever hit the lotto,Reno would be first on my list to move to.Have a beautiful day!
I want to come back home so bad, I have been stuck in North Carolina for about 4 years, my Husband and Daughter & I are hoping to come back in the spring.
Well, this place was SO MUCH FUN back in the 80's. All the classic casinos like Fitzgeralds, Cal Neva, Harold's, and my absolute favorite, THE NEVADA CLUB! are gone forever. Oh my, what time does.
@@nomadictravelerfromTx Sorry you missed it!!! Back in the day charter buses and flights from at least all over the west coast arrived in Reno almost daily. The place was packed, and hopping. .99 cent ham and egg breakfast and any action you desired 24/7. Those were the days!
Oops, I was born in Reno, graduated from Reno High, my wife was in the first graduating class from Wooster. We always planned to retire in Reno. BUT, then it became a suburb of california, the gangs moved in, the drugs came in as did the homeless. When we moved out our home was the only one in our neighborhood in Donner Springs that had not been broken into. We only go back now to visit friends.
I can pretty much state most of the buildings here because im used to all the buildings in reno. The first one i noticed was Earl Wooster high school, Then he pretty much just keeps on driving on Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Freeway, then he takes an exit and the next building a saw was Ashley furniture, when i looked toward my left, i saw taco bell and I belive next to taco bell was Shop N Go, just a store i never go to, and then I just saw Sportsman warehouse, I kinda skipped a few parts after that but I then saw a bunch of unpopular buildings like motels and stuff and the next thing i saw was the one and only, Peppermill! Wooh!! The last building i saw was just a bank i completely forgot the name of. I thought it was Umpqwa bank or whatever its called but thats a completey different bank! Judging by the style of the bank, this was taken along time ago! Was Borders still a store at the time until it turned into nordstrom rack and was meadowood mall still unfurnished at the time?
Oh yeah! The building on the opposite side of Peppermill was asian market and on the street asian market is on, there is the international market i think? Two stores ive been to before
I grew up in Reno. I don’t miss it except for snow/snow sports.
