Thank you. This is only great video I can find great tips for growing tea plants. I keep buying tea plants and killing them. I growed indoor in winter that there is no snow. The tea plant was infected with bugs and spots on leaves so I learned I need to keep it outdoor for ventilation.
Camellias are not houseplants. I’m sure you could bring them in for a bit when a plant is blooming but they are a tree. Refer to American Camellia Society for an abundance of info.
you mention on one of your posts that you grew your plants from seeds, how did you get them to germinate? I saw one guy who soaked for 3 days, then placed them in the sun to crack then plant? how did you germinate yours because yours look awesome.
Tactical Unicorn 1113 just make sure you water it carefully not too much not too little. make sure its soil drains well, and give it some artificial light source. Keep airflow around the plant so it can breath and not develop leaf fungus. Super easy to keep them inside just requires a few things! Hope this helps! Happy growing!
Kam Kong over watering and poor drainage in soil can be a big part of them doing that try repotting to a different mix and adding pearlite to keep the mix loose!
Quick Question??? We just received three different Japonica Camellia plants in quart size containers. We were going to plant them in larger pots for now but want to eventually put them in the ground. When should we plant them in the ground and can we leave the pots outside now we live in Virginia zone 7
Christina m zone 7 is a bit of a risk for japonica usually zone 8 is better to leave them outside permanently. You could alway leave one outside on a cold night and see how they handle it In your location.
TheItalian Garden When they are more mature is it safe to plant in the ground? We bought them to plant in the ground and landscape our yard. And what height is a mature plant? Thank you
Hi thank you for the information about Camellia. I have a request, can you please display English subtitle ? Please reply to my queries. 1. Soil mix 2. Pot size. 3. Food for the plant, 4. Watering, 5 requirement of light. 6. Flowering season, 7. Pruning, 8. Repotting. I am from India, west Bengal.
Hey I have two questions: 1) where did you buy those nice camellias? 2) I bought camellias a month ago but the leaves turned brown over the month and both plants have now died. I kept them by a partial shade window, fed them diluted, orchid fertilizer, and kept the soil always damp. Why do you think this would happen....also seeing your nice plants inspires me to give camellias another chance. Thanks!
okay answer to your first question is i grew them from seed. spent 30$ or so ordering around 80 seeds. i ordered them from CamelliaForestNusery.com they were selling a seed crop then. now they don't have any i believe. but if they do jump on them they are go to for camellia seed wouldn't buy any where else. But CAUTION don't buy a alive plant and expect it to be super healthy i have heard good and some bad things from people about their live plants. But most of the bad things i think just came from complainers. Second question: it sounds like you plants were either sitting in water, did not have enough drainage in the pot. if not any of those too frequent watering. the leaf browning is usually caused by root rot. I usually only water if indoors once or twice a month honestly. they are not heavy drinkers even in hot weather i watered maybe 3 times a month or whenever the top 3 inches were dry or lacking in moisture. the soil should never be kept always damp, damp is too wet all the time a moist feeling on top is okay that means the lower roots are always damp. if you feel dampness all the time on top then that's too much. Remember these are hill loving plants that only grab whats left from rain as it washes by their roots.
buying them live really shouldn't matter too much. most people can take a live sick plants and turn it around just gotta make sure you are following the right procedures for the specific plant. your welcome glad to help, pretty much just remember any plant out there needs a drying out period before watering from the top. so use a moisture meter or your finger before giving it a water.
+Thic thanks for your comment. i have decided to stop doing close ups and very much hand camera work as i am bad at it. from this upcomming season on i will just be doing stills for close ups and tripod for the rest. that way people can watch and not get motion sick from my bad camera work.
im also going to be doing alot of beekeeping 101 video's next year, as i have got the beekeeping bug and feel like others could benefit from seeing my successes and failures.
+Madeleine Reilly if you would like to inquire about information that was not in the video that i may have missed i would be happy to help. just saying its not helpful does not give me any insight into what could help have helped you on the video or what i could put in future video's.

These shrubs are easy to take care of and don't need much care. Just some good building blocks to get them started.
beautiful plants! Tysm for the videos!

If the fertilizer burned your leaves, you might want to rinse the leaves with water because the chemicals cause a sort of "burn" effect.
If grow from seeds, how many days does plant takes to start flowering?
My camellia leaves are becoming yellow what may be the reason and what can do for this problem?

+TheItalian Garden thank you for the major LOL, but I do think you want to correct "genitally" to "gently".
haha im glad you caught that i didn't even realize what i spelled!
How many years does camellia bonsai take to blossom?
Thyme likes acidic soil? Well, I guess it depends on the species, because where I live, thyme grows wild and it grows in alkaline substrates
If i were to grow it indoors, what would be some tips? (I live were it would die outside, and I know it will not bud inside)

TheItalian Garden yeah, I have not gotten one yet, but thank you for the info! Would it go good on my desk? I have a lamp
Tactical Unicorn 1113 Maybe for a short time but they will soon out grow that area and pot size.
I just got my Camellias recently but the leaves are curling up and drying up, any tips how to improve the plant?
Kam Kong over watering and poor drainage in soil can be a big part of them doing that try repotting to a different mix and adding pearlite to keep the mix loose!
TheItalian Garden ok, thanks. I'll give that a try

If they are at least 1 year old a japonica can probably survive in zone 7 fine but if they are younger than that keep then indoors for winter.

Yes that was probably the problem.... And I did buy the plants live so maybe that played a role
- thanks so much

Book Trailers & More Yolo camellia bushes need to dry out. Hard to kill unless they are overwatered.
