I always watch the first clump of Love is Blind episodes with so much hope, like wow, these people are cute matches! And then by the 4th or 5th episode when all the couples intermingle, I realize, oh, they barely know their partner, they're all toxic, and no one should get married.
Yeah it’s so weird to me how these people (even when they seem to be very compatible) aren’t willing to commit and really work together to build a good relationship bcs supposedly they are there for that exact reason … But then again, makes you wonder why did they get into LIB in the first place since they couldnt find something good outside of it …

I'm not German, but I speak the language fluently thanks to years of study. I have to acknowledge the fact that the singles the show speak German very beautifully and with lovely accents. Especially the people from Hamburg and the young lady originally from Togo (Shella).
Aaahh very excited to see your commentary on this! I speak German and for that reason it's super fun to watch this season. I feel like culturally, Germans are quite pragmatic and sensible, and from a logical point of view, falling in love (not just crushing on someone) is just not realistic in such a short timeframe, so most people are approaching this process with some caution - which results in many of them saying "I want to continue this process with you" (which is true, and to do that the process requires them to ask their partner to marry them) rather than "I am madly in love with you" (which would be fake and ridiculous, because at most, it could be a heavy infatuation at that point). It feels much more authentic to me, to be honest. Also, sidenote: PLEASE also consider doing LIB Japan!! I loved, loved, loved that iteration. It's especially interesting to learn a bit more about Japanese culture as well.
Hey, so for now I am binging the first drop of episodes, I was visiting a friend and started watching today (January 5th) instead of immediately. I did not watch your commentary yet. I just wanted to say that I love this season so far. It's really amazing. I am from Poland and work with Germans on a daily basis. I was very excited for the German season cause I feel that they are so culturally close to us, being our neighbours. It will be lovely to me to hear your thoughts about this version as soon as I'm done with episode 4!
I guess here in Germany it feels supercrazy and unbelievable to get engaged so quickly. Therefore in my opinion, the cast cannot take these engagements seriously and they can’t authentically feel it. I believe that’s why it feels kind of boring and not authentic.
Love is Meaningless would be a good show! People would start with the lowest expectations and work their way from there. Certainly worth trying over the usual extreme of high expectations and putting all the life meaning into a romantic relationship. That has proven to be mostly a failure.
As a German person, I have absolutely no idea who these people are. 🤷🏾♀️ I'm happy to see several black women, which is still a little unusual here but I am also a little anxious that the men won't be able to handle it well. 😬 When there's black people and they don't disclose that they are black, I am automatically scared, that the other person turns out to be racist and then it gets very awkward and uncomfortable when they meet. 😬
Seeing black people is unusual in Germany? Dude, Germany is the most divers country in Europe after England. Have you ever been to west Germany. Especially, bigger cities in west Germany or in Berlin?

I agreed this first episode was very fast. Hanni mention, I think, in that same first episode, she said she never said " I love you" in any of her previous relationships, I'm also unsure what to think of it. Spoiler: Daniel is exclusively shown moments in the pods with Hanni , not other women in the pods (aside his time in the men lounge or walking to the pods). Feel free to correct me if there's other moment he is seens speaking to another woman in the pods than Hanni
I've only seen the very first episode but so far Marcel & Jen are my favorite couple. They seem quite similar in their energy and the way they carry themselves. Btw, The hosts are both TV presenters.

Hanni opens up in their conversations, admitting she never ever said „I love u“ to any partner she dated before. For Daniel it‘s important to hear it later on in the relationship, when she genuinely feels like it. Also, to me personally, these two seem like the least drama coded and best matching couple so far, especially after watching episodes 2&3 😵💫 Kind regards from Germany 🫶🏻
I'm german and have no idea who these people (the moderating couple) are. Also I felt the same way that the pod phase was more boring than other seasons and I do think it might be partly because it's german, of course german people can do love bombing too but I feel like it's common for people here to be less enthusiastic and over the top romantic, it's all a bit more rational. There's a lot of german reality tv that's more crazy where people act out and fall for each other within seconds, but you can tell a lot of it is just for show, and I think they wanted this show to be more serious and not seem like it's cut from the same cloth as other reality (or as we call it "trash tv") shows. Like no I love you's have been exchanged and the way most people word their statements within this season it sounds like they're viewing the proposals more as a next step than a promise to absolutely go through with it, as much as it's less exciting I do find it more real and refreshing, though no couple has really caught my attention to where I'm rooting for them extensively. I just really like that one woman, Tchalla (not sure that's how her name is written) but I think there will be more drama out of the pods and I'm looking forward to that. Also Elias/Ilias comes across as super unlikeable to me as well, much worse than garrett! it's not just the red pill and sexual comments but his whole aura gives off fake and desparate, that might sound mean but I don't buy his nice guy act, he seems like he has insecurities to compensate for and he's superifical, thirsty and unloyal. Also the other guy, who proposed to Hanni, when he was talking about her not saying I love you, the issue wasn't that he wanted to say it to him right that moment but that she told him she had never told that to a guy ever and I think he was worried she might be closed off and not be able to develop and outwardly show love to him either in the future.
Maybe the germans are less showing off their feelings, like in the swedish version where they all seemed very cold. It could be cultural. As a french person, I'm not really surprised by that 1st episode 😆

I find Alina so enjoyable, so relatable, I really hope that Ilias guy won’t be a jerk to her although we already started to see the signs… Hanni is the typical bimbo which doesn’t want to be objectified by men but will do everything possible to be just like that. The bald guy is too good for her( at least from what I got to see until now) . Pascal, Ilias and Tolga are two stupid men: getting to have those two gorgeous women and not being sure nor enjoy them- WTF?? Best of luck with future videos 😊🙏🏻🎄

We meet even more of them in episode 2. 😭 I didn't even know this season was happening, I saw your video and checked netflix afterwards. So I'm not really feeling the hype either. Also doesn't help that I dislike (so far) the first couple to get engaged. Oh well. I'm 5 minutes into episode 2, so hopefully I find a few people/couples to root for.
So i am not german but austrian so i was very excited about a german speaking lib, but the first episodes are a bit boring, because the vibe is not comparable to the us versions, however its gets more interesting in episode 3 and then 4 when the Honeymoon beginns and they all meet 😶🌫️
