Well, looks like I’ll have to go there now. I definitely like the laid back-not-snobby vibe. Probably the closest thing to this I’ve seen would be one of the Ryukyu islands in Japan.
We used the boat my husband owns there. It’s a Pershing 48 and we do charter it to clients with captain but mostly for day trips. It can sleep 5-6 people but very crowded ! Something like a cataraman is wider so even with the same feet in length you’ll get lots more space.
When are you going and for how long ? I might be able to help you. I was on a Pershing and the same one might be available. If not I’ve got friends who own a charter company in the area and have been there for 20+ years

Hi ! When I went 4 months ago I had to show my Pfizer vaccine certificate AS WELL AS a negative PCR no older than 48 hours. That may have changed so best thing to do is look at updated info on the government website :)

We are scheduled to sail the BVI's at the end of the month. Does anyone have any recent feedback on the protocol for covid testing coming goring to the BVI's from the US and coming back to the US? Would appreciate any feedback.
Hi Cathleen ! When I was there in January , sailing between BVI and any US territory was prohibited. The only way to go from US to British territory was by plane . You had to show your vaccine pass (2 vaccines were fine) as well as a negative PCR taken 24h before travel
In bvi Charter companies usually give you a short course when you rent the boat even if you don’t have a license because technically you don’t need a license in the BVI to drive a boat. For that reason, some companies charter boats only with a captain if it’s for more than a day
Moorings and Marine Max might be a good fit for you actually depending on how long you’d like to charter for. The boat I was on could fit 6 but would be very tight if it’s for longer than let’s say a weekend

We will book through Sunsail or MarineMax. Sunsail is much more affordable. Which charter company did you use? We need to sleep 6.
