Outside of the books, it was great seeing a dad having fun with his kid. As you are leaving the store there is just a glimpse of your daughter laughing at something you did and it was genuine. Comics are great but there are some things you can't put a price on. Good video.
Love the idea of the photocopies of the nicer books in the long boxes. Lets the customer know, "yes, we actually do have this book that you're looking for; just ask" rather than the customer just assuming that they don't have it if they don't see it in the box or on the wall. ASM 252 and Secret Wars 8 for me.
That is a great store with something for everyone. Whenever I go there I end up spending a lot of time trying to look everywhere. I have a lot more luck finding stuff there than in the Fitchburg store.
Great haul of comics as usual. I also love the black suit Spider-Man comics. I Purchased the complete run of the secret wars when it first came out and still have those in my collection. Thanks for informing me about the timeframe that the other comics were released, very interesting. Keep up the great job. 😎
I appreciate you talking about things that you didn't like as it shows you're not just talking up everything. I've only been to Thats Entertainment once, but was impressed. One thing to look for while there is the stuff under the tables. I found some great mags that way.
Love spiderman and all 4 of those are also in my collection. My favorite cover is 252 which is my 1a and secret wars 8 is my 1b. Others are like you sid just great tonown as well! Nice pickups mike!
ASM 252 is my fave. The Daredevil storyline by Kevin Smith is absolutely great! I know you are not a DC fan, but Smith's run on Green Arrow is also pretty epic! Nice pick-ups!
I love that Black Cat cover, but I'm going to have to choose Daredevil by Kevin Smith. I have loved him since my buddy had me watch Clerks in his dorm room back in 95, and I love that whole run. Awesome haul, Mike!
I am a huge fan of Chris Claremont and have never seen or heard of the book you found! Awesome find! Salute!!! Now I need to find it so I can read it! 😊
Another great video. Another great haul. It makes me think about making the trip out of upstate NY to visit some of these locations. Maybe on the way to Terrificon.
Nice pick-ups Mike. Make sure you add Marvel Age #12 to your Black Suit collection. The suit is shown on the interior and is black and red instead of black and white but otherwise identical. It pre-dates ASM 252 by a couple months and has a pretty neat Secret Wars cover.
It is ridiculous how many great stores you have near you, the closest comic store that i have is about 1 and a half hour away in a different city and they have okay books. That is why I mostly buy comics online instead, however, there are not that many great deals to be had online.
Almost nothin in the UK. Second hand shops at best. Really puts you at a disadvantage becuse things can be seriously over priced in professional shops or vendor type stalls. And you just don't hunt to the same standards as us collectors. Which means your trapped in modern comics on an island 💀
@@DrBallSac I hear you, i live in sweden and we have one or two good shops in the whole country and they are both about an hour and a half away. I actually traveled to the UK this summer and i must say that i found some fun shops in London. Krypton Comics in Blackhorse is a shop i would recommend if you haven't checked it out already, it has one of the biggest selections that i have seen, i went in to look for action comics and i ended up buying like 12 New mutants comics just because they seemed to be priced great at 2,5 -3,5 pounds each. All of them were about mint, and they had a system which meant that everything was sorted in order, and they also have a great online shop which is overpriced, however, if you catch them during sales then you can make some great finds. They are actually running a autumn sale right now.
@@DrBallSac I also went to mega city comics and they were also great, but they did not have as much older books as krypton. Mega City were more bronze to modern, however, it was a good selection nontheless. I unfortunatly went to mega city comics during a day were they had to close early for some reason so i scrambled together my pile of comics without looking at them and ended up buying two new mutants 38.
I always go through the miscellaneous sections. In fact, I usually go through those sections first (and the $1 and $2 bins). Lots of hidden gems that often go unnoticed. I have an issue of Marvel Knights Magazine with that Daredevil cover. Issue #3. BTW, I found that Chris Claremont Anniversary Special book this summer. It's a cool book.
Secret Wars 8 is my favorite of those covers but ASM 252 is a close second. You got a good deal, I would say that Spectacular Spider-Man was the best find.
Your missing one for your black suit set. Web of Spiderman 1. I know it came out a few months after these other ones. But its a great cover and (captain obvious statement) is the first black suit in that series.
Chuck Austen is certainly a polarising creator; I viewed him more as an artist than as a writer and I didn't mind his art. However, the general consensus seems to be that his X-Men issues stank.
I really gotta make it to Mass. I’m tryna get my marvel team up run so yes the marvel team up with daredevil is the best cover to me I mean come on just look at it 😂💪🏾💪🏾
Hey man amazing video. With all the key comics that you buy. How do you decide if you want them or not? Do you just look at the cover and buy it coz you like it? DO you buy it to resell? Coz just having so many random key comics must take up soo much space. So just was curious what your strategy is with collecting these comics? Do you also read them or do you just collect?
@@aaqibazeez6753 I keep most of them, and read a good amount. I only really sell cheap books that I get in large lots and collections, and usually keep the bigger books I don’t want for trading. I keep my collection pretty small and tidy all things considered
Hey Mike love the finds iv got over 600 comics because i watch your show I really enjoy this I. That X-Men vol. 2 run looked promising. I bet that place has some great hidden gems.
Your knowledge continues to impress me. Great comic pickups as well, Mike!

ASM 252 and Secret Wars 8 for me.
I was 14 and reading the black costume saga back in 84 and bought 2 copies of 252 and still have them.Oh my those were the days when comics rocked!
Simpler times indeed

That 5.0 HOS 92 for 899 was a great deal

That was a great deal at $899. It was a steal at $820.

ASM 252 is the best cover! I LOVE the homage to AF 15 - remembering where it all began! Your local comic shop looks amazing. Enjoy!

9:47 outta nowhere dude just start ethering this Chuck Austin guy lol.
that chris claremont comic is cool i have never seen that one befofre.
For me it is Secret War #7, the cover art plus one of the best story arcs in all of Marvel
