Loving your vlogs en España - please keep doing them - I’ve been learning Spanish since lockdown and it’s proved to be really useful in some of the villages or dealing with banks etc . We have a holiday home there currently but the plan is to move to Spain in the next year or two. Fortunately I have an Irish passport and we’re in receipt of state pensions this year so health cover and residency will be very doable. I adore what you’ve done so far - I’m into my Frenchic paint transformations too. Love the garden and the lovely owls - have to admit I’ve got the thing about one magpie too and do the salute etc 😂

GREAT WORK GUYS! we have recently arrived in Spain on our NLV and trying to work out where we want to settle. It is so difficult to pick somewhere to plant your flag.... any tips on finding a good place and why did you select the Murcia region? We got our TIE appointments the other day and if anyone is looking for a half Spanish half English person (Spanish born but lived in England 21 years) to help them with their visas etc I highly recommend Maria from helpathand Spain. she got us an appointment within 2 days (others were quoting a month or two) and she came with us. We started with one of the bigger companies but they were slow to answer our concerns and gave us incorrect information.

So we essentially had a wish list of what we wanted in a property, size, pool, workshop, location and accessibility to name but a few We really recommend thinking about what's important to you, then limit your property search to that critea, keep the location wide on your search and then see where your money goes. We then narrowed down the areas and found what we wanted, this is the second house we bought in Spain so we knew what we didn't want, but if you're unsure take your time, make sure it's legal and go with your gut! You should be fairly well practiced in saluting Gary (normal people salute magpies, but only when they are on their own, do you ask it how it's family is as well?).

Hi Joanna, we are in the Murcia region, we basically chose it based on our criteria, location and price, we do have experience of Spain though so knew what we were looking for. We're currently working towards our residency and will do some more videos about residency and what we need to do. As for the tourist thing, we haven't experienced anything like that but we don't live in a tourist area, the locals have been so nice and welcoming ❤️

You should be fairly well practiced in saluting Gary (normal people salute magpies, but only when they are on their own, do you ask it how it's family is as well?).

Love the blog guys. Thought many times about moving to Spain. What part of Spain are you in? Have you got any info on why you went there and what the policy is for U.K. residents to move there? I am worried about the attitude by the Spanish to the tourists there and whether this will affect residents eventually. What do you think? I am retired but my husband is still working. Any info would be great as you are actually living the dream.
Hi Joanna, we are in the Murcia region, we basically chose it based on our criteria, location and price, we do have experience of Spain though so knew what we were looking for. We're currently working towards our residency and will do some more videos about residency and what we need to do. As for the tourist thing, we haven't experienced anything like that but we don't live in a tourist area, the locals have been so nice and welcoming ❤️
