Am I the only one who see the deep sadness in Murad? OMG.. how much he wanted to be loved by Kosem. SUPERB!!! Metin played the best role here. He created the real Sultan
If only he listen his mother instead that all that snake's. All start when he listening to that fool silahtar . He give idea to Murad to lock his brother's.
The resemblance between Kosëm Sultan and Safiyë Sultan at this point in the series is scary. The writers really payed attention to detail and had Kosem dressed similar to Safiye in elegant gowns as well as extravagant crowns and headpieces. I first began noticing this when Geverhan told Kosem ‘no wind can blow nor sun rise without your permission’ and this is exaclty the same as what Fahriye said to Safiye Sultan.
I have great respect for Metin Akdulger as an actor here. I never heard of any of these actors/actresses as I'm American, but he brought Sultan Murad 4 to life, and I can certainly feel his pain in this episode with his cirrhosis of the liver. Too bad Turkey doesn't have Oscars for excellent actors.
Exactly I was searching if he won some awards for this role but this is one life time performance he really brought Murad to life n made us feel for his betrayals losses, the fact that no one understood him n his internal struggles
Start of this episode shows Actor Metin's facial expressions of extreme sadness, pain and emptiness and strong motions. I was in almost tears. Murad fighting with his inner self and others. While Kosem 's obsession becoming autocratic, dictator.
Poor Halil Pasha. He served the dynasty since the days of Sultan Ahmed. He didn't deserve the ending he got. He should have retired in comfort and peace.
Sultan Murad is so hateful towards Kosem. Could she have backed off a little and let him lead? yes. But wanting to end the dynasty just to spite her was beyond crazy!
It is a fine series and the interplay between son Murad and mother Kosem is movingly done, convincing. Wonderful actors and script writer with persuasive understanding of a destructive psyche, obsessive love and pain. A lot of Turkish series l have watched are world class and worth better translation...this one with its history references especially ..
Kamentes and Kosem.....to me ....there was a love...yet both understood it could never be between them. At times their eyes spoke ...words were not needed.
I like kemantes the most He is the one percfectly fit to be a king of the dynasty,, he’s height his majestic face and body perfect to fit the role of King
The actor that played Murad did this so gracefully, as dying he was saying his mother was never proud of him, not only his mother he even made every viewer proud of him. He had every quality to be a Sultan yes he became cruel but it was to protect himself at this point i agreed with him kosem wasnt that kosem everyone saw when murad was ascended, actually she was a cruel kosem the greed for power made her like that she became exactly like Safiye Sultan she made my jaw dropped when she said “if something happens to ibrahim, he(ibrahim’s son) will be our only hope” when his concubine told her she’s pregnant. Like how she changed side so quickly upon knowing she can have another prince to carry on how ever she wants to rule the state. Yes she was doing everything for the betterment of thw state but she had her first priority that was the state and not her children.. At last it was actually so painful to see murad dying like that in pain not only physical but emotional and mental pain he was in He actually loved his mother more than anyone yazak this dynasty lost a great padishah and now the dynasty will be carried on from the non mentally stable prince ibrahim..
In history of Osman two most unfortunate shehzades who had to pay the brunt of their childhood terror…shehzade mustafa &shehzade ibrahim…they were not mad but historians of that time depicted them as insane lunatic..in actual they were highly depressed and suffering from paranoia
I actually feel kind of sorry for Murad :( He didn't want to be this cruel but there was no choice left for him. He grew up seeing his brothers die and didn't wanna end up like them that's why he become so strict. And the fact that his mother didn't believe in him to be an independent Sultan, made him insecure and even more strict.
Finally Murad admitted in the end why he did what he did. Because he loved his mother, god call it love. If only he made this conversation years ago, everything would be fine for everyone.
Nope. Murad would only have been a puppet ruler. Is that how a great ruler is? Kosem only cared about absolute power, nothing else. When a mother kills her children for her own personal greed, is no longer fit to be a mother. Kosem love for her children was only the love for power.
Kosem never saw any fault with what she did. She even hired a companion when he was a child to keep Murad away from state affairs, then threw the companion to be torn apart by the people during the rebellion. That had to be devastating. 😔 She had a selfishness & thirst for control and power that she did not want to share; it ran deep. She would get old eventually and yet she held the reins tight so her sons were doomed to fail, they would not have loyalty from their subjects, nor know how to rule because she developed a state within a state and constantly challenged the Sultan's decisions and set an example of disrespect. She would never concede any power. Murad was cruel, but his heart was broken many times as those close to him died. His children were not valued by his mother. Hanging the mother of his children and closest companion/right hand was beyond cruel, and his children suffered as well. He inherited an unstable state in the throes of a rebellion and corruptiness, and the treasury was broke when he ascended to the throne. He should be admired for his conquests, stabilizing the country, and filling the empty treasury. He did this with his mother undoing every step he took. Even in his council meetings, she sat observing & circumventing every decision he made, until he finally forced her out. He discovered none of his rulings were carried out per his mother's orders and she publicly disagreed with him. Fear was his only weapon for obedience. He couldn't rule with her around. She refused to leave the harem or castle even when ordered. Pity, he had the makings to be a great Sultan if allowed to slowly spread his wings, with his mother being a voice of guiding experience demanding all respect for her son as Sultan. Important job for a mother to raise an independent son until he can spread his wings and fly on his own. It is always a heartbreak when a son leaves the nest, but it means a mother did a good job raising him. This is even more important as a leader for a country. Pity ...😩 Sad for the dynasty.
You hit the nail with that explanation. Here Kosem has become a poisonous ivy that wraps around her children like a tree and slowly sips away any life they have had lived free without her.
Lol struggled used her I’ll gotten (thru money) influence over janissaries to enthrone n dethrone kings just to use them as puppets and ensure her own power. Worst era of desirability in Ottoman Empire : hers with no achievements at all
The way Mustafa said God Bless you Murad, made me cry. 😢 Murad was selfish tyrant. Just because I'm dying I won't let anyone live. 😢 Where is justice for traitor Yusuf and Sinan. 😠😡
most of people says that kosem was a bad women but i think it is not she always wanted to protect her children and please do not say that kosem was a bad women she was very loyal and protected to her children

Why can’t Sultan Murad realize that Sultana Kosem is also sick and her life will not be long. She will also die soon. Sultan Murad wants to end the dynasty because of his anger with his mother whom he thought doesn’t care for him and only wants power, but in fact, Sultana Kosem just don’t want the dynasty to end, so Ibrahim must take the throne to continue the dynasty. Poor Murad, he died with full of hatred and pain……
Metin Akdülger played Murad with really stunning skills 😮 he had this complex, tormented, at the end even evil character and he portrays it so well 😮😮😮😮💘
Sultan murad loved he's mother but she didn't love nothing else but throne and power she made murad to act like a monster just to protect he's self from her greed I love sultan murad he was real fighter real leader brave man who could do anything in life he was the only who deserved that throne I don't think after him was someone better than him it's just impossible
Osman was assassinated for his poor decisions and rulings How has murad managed to get away with his blind executions and then wiping out the dynasty (or so he thought) How have the people not revolted During Ahmed’s reign the people raided the plants due to payment, surely this is more important
Bc he actually had no other powerful enemies. When it came to Osman there was Kosem and janissaries who supported her+Halime and David Pasha who claimed that throne was taken without rights, the divan at that time was also really unstable bc Osman rather listened to his teacher Omer Efendi. Murad was rulling 17 years but since the first 9 Kosem was rulling his reigh lasted 8 years. At first he wasn’t that cruel but than everything changed. That’s when people started to be scared of him and annoyed, but the important factor is that he didn’t really have a powerful enemies. Unlike in a show Kosem steeped out of politics and I guess that his brothers were loyal to. But then he’s cruelty turned into tyranny at this point people started to hate him that much that he started to be scared of beaing dethroned that’s why he killed his brothers he saved just Ibrahim. All of that was at the end of his reign so I feel like sooner or later he would be dethroned
Murad struggled so much on multiple fronts, history has this earlier years of his moms rule saw rise of corruption, sycophants viziers of his mom mostly doing their own selves favour and dwindling state authority, Murad tried to curb corruption, ensure state authority implemented reforms for his people, he realised that cause of enthroning n dethroning of Sultans was his mom n her greed for power so he was absolutely right in not giving her control over state to rot it even more he was right in saying state is more important than a bloodline he didn’t see any quality Sultans in his dynasty at that time so he called for Crimean for betterment of state ! He was right
am i the only person who sees that murad was actually in 🥰love😝 with musa celebi? i mean look here....1:10:49 , then here 1:11:19 . Also i've checked the historic facts.... murad actually wrote poems for musa celebi....and evliya confirmed it. and with the fact that the way kosem wronged him....no wonder he became like that...cruel and all.😭
I feel for Murad he was brought up into a world full of power greedy hungry world from childhood being a boy back then must have been really scary for the children I dont even know any of the actors and actreses before this but gosh theres never a dull moment in it
Fun fact: Turks as a people have risen exactly because two brothers haven't tried to kill each other, but instead they have ruled together. Look at the history of the Seljuks.
Yasak...murad even trust that treacherous dog sinan but never his mother...😢 he just love her , not trust her , kosem do all the things for her children and for her people ,... She don't like murad as a sultan ... And she is right ... A cruel sultan is like a wrath to people .... 😅 but murad never realizes his mistakes , he don't regret killing his brothers as a sultan .... Kosem supported him in every way possible because she know how the cruel And evil is this world ...she want to be with him so that no one else putt him against his family ...but murad chooses everyone else but not his family... 😢 that's the truth... The drama didn't show the actual feelings of kosem , but she did right thing ... Even if she dethrone murad , it was right thing ... To save people from his cruelty ...and to save dynasty's legacy so the Persians and all other dogs don't harm innocent people... But murad only thinks of himself ... And his revenge
The wisest decision would have been for the Crimean heir to marry his sister awhile back and have positions at the castle to help with a transitional rule when the time came. His mother should have been sent to a providence far away a long time ago. This could have allowed stability.
I feel so sad for Murad. He really didn't deserve this. And Kosem is the only responsible one for this. She won as a sultana but failed as a mother. She couldn't see her children's happiness. That's why she killed Farya and Silahtar. Only for revenge. She couldn't see how much they meant to Murad and Atike. Pity
Kosem never cared about any of her children she only wanted to rule, and if any of them got in her way she came up with some dumb excuse and killed them.
The creators were really desparate to keep the ratings that they completely changed so many historical facts. Ibrahim's execution was given by Murad on his death bed. Murad never ordered to kill Kosem. Sinan was a very significant vazir. He didn't betray sultan. Mustafa died at the place where he was jailed. Not like this.
Innocent mustafa 😢 whole his life is punishment to him even he didn't make a single mistake ....yasak ... Muraddd yasakkk.... I hate murad characters soooooooo muchhhhhhhh , he is just show off man that he feels ...but actually he is feeling less 😢
It was because of his mother and the disease for the thirst for power that would destroy the dynasty. He didn't want his brother to go through what he had. It was an unselfish act because he saw it all in the end.
@@southernlady8809 Unselfish to kill his uncle and brother, even though they were innocent? What kind of reasoning is that? He couldn't predict what would happen in the future.
@@AS-yz2iz I didn't mean he was right. In his mind, he knew the dynasty would go on and repeat itself with young princes being ruled by Kosem & her killing & replacing them if they tried to rule. I loved watching the 2nd actress, but by this time (actress 3) she only cares about having a Prince to rule through. She destroyed all their lives. It was her rule that destroyed the dynasty.
@@AS-yz2izwell what he predicted turned actually true in the end didn’t it? Wasn’t ibrahims accession disaster for state n dynasty n his own self ? He grew up in the castle n observed all events he knew his mothers selfishness n he was right in doing necessary steps to protect the state he even justified that “Ibrahim did not have qualities of a Sultan neither Mustafa has” n he was right His mother killed Ibrahim n even planned to kill her grandson when turhan averted it that’s how much power hungry she was! N murad only killed his brother when their dethroning plans were actually busted at the nick of time they were caught red handed , they deserved punishments as per prevailing law even his mother did just like Gulbahar but he forgave her n end up paying the price
Kosem wanted Suntan to be their puppet and wanted to rule the world Whenever the sultan wanted power back she killed her own son indeed throne was her favourite child
Am I the only one who see the deep sadness in Murad? OMG.. how much he wanted to be loved by Kosem. SUPERB!!! Metin played the best role here. He created the real Sultan

He was loved but an ingrate who feeds on the blood of his brothers

Metin Akdülger as Sultan Murad is amazing! I will surely watch any series or drama starring him.

So an has more lives than a cat. He is an excellent villain, interesting character.
Mustafa would have been fine if he had not been locked away and Ibrahim needed pyschotherapy/psychological treatments.
Pity
3:15 😅😅😅 Murad 😂when he was a kid kosem was young and look of that his mom still older 😂😂😂😂
Sultan Murad❤❤😭😭😭
Mustafa😢 shame murad u deserve more than that pain
Beautiful. Quilts and bed spreads
What an acting by Murad though
Kemankes and kosem 😍😘
Kosem was the whole book for Murad. But Murad was a chapter for Kosem.
Keinginan kosem hanyalah semua anaknya hidup bahagia dan aman di bawah kendalinya. Tanpa harus membunuh saudara
Kosem never cared about any of her children she only wanted to rule, and if any of them got in her way she came up with some dumb excuse and killed them.
They only casted Mustafa's actors brilliantly.
😭sultan murad 🥺❤
Poor Mustapha 😢
Even real Sulthan Murad lose in front of this reel Sulthan Murad
Salute to sultan kosem❤
What kind of Ruler like this killing his own family..i think Murad is died jealous or black heart
Omg why did they let Sinan go again? Aagghh.. i can’t take it 😮
Murad u r a cruel sultan of the world..no mercy.
Innocent mustafa 😢 whole his life is punishment to him even he didn't make a single mistake ....yasak ... Muraddd yasakkk.... I hate murad characters soooooooo muchhhhhhhh , he is just show off man that he feels ...but actually he is feeling less 😢
Omg even when murad is sooo ill… he is not ready to give the throne to his sibling… such a thirst for the power….
It was because of his mother and the disease for the thirst for power that would destroy the dynasty. He didn't want his brother to go through what he had. It was an unselfish act because he saw it all in the end.
like mother like son💀
He grew up in the castle n observed all events he knew his mothers selfishness n he was right in doing necessary steps to protect the state he even justified that “Ibrahim did not have qualities of a Sultan neither Mustafa has” n he was right
His mother killed Ibrahim n even planned to kill her grandson when turhan averted it that’s how much power hungry she was! N murad only killed his brother when their dethroning plans were actually busted at the nick of time they were caught red handed , they deserved punishments as per prevailing law even his mother did just like Gulbahar but he forgave her n end up paying the price

17:12 It said Bayezid 😅
The end of this episode 😭😭😭😭
So what about all the other male family members. Such as kosem other daughters have sons.
Or even Ahmed’s sisters sons
right what happened to Ayse sultana and Fatma?
Murad is the best lol
2:06:20 this scene is so heartbreaking 😢
He went from the world craving a genuine loving hug from his mother
Good God....this drama is all about beheading humans....a small mistake you get beheaded 😢 even in moses Times it was not like so ...
Murads death so very sad!!!
A sultan to be is hiding behind sister 😢
I love the moment when exicuteners went to kill kosem finally she saw that murad was not weak and he wanted her dead
Kosem wanted Suntan to be their puppet and wanted to rule the world Whenever the sultan wanted power back she killed her own son indeed throne was her favourite child
