What makes this more unfortunate is that Liam has always been the most under-appreciated & underrated one in the band, Even during the time when 1D was still together, The break up didn't make the situation better as he was the one who received the most backlash after the split. The recent situation alongside addictions & poor mental state are ultimately the deciding factor. R.I.P Liam & Condolences to his family.
Mentally, he didn't move on from 2016. He stopped his own growth. He received backlash for things he actually triggered by himself (putting his ex-bandmates down in interview, abusing/harassing his ex, etc.)
I wasn't a big One Direction fan because they could be my kids, but I know this loss to young people is like the loss my generation felt when Michael Jackson died.
It's frustrating to see that the best our mainstream media channels can do to explain this situation is to say he struggled with drug addiction and mental health issues. It is a fact that people who struggle with addiction use drugs to self-soothe their internal emotional state after not learning how to regulate their emotions as a child. Every single time you hear about a celebrity dying from a drug overdose or suicide, I want you to think "this is in some way connected to their childhood." I did about 3 minutes of reading on Wikipedia to see that he was born into a traumatic life. He was in and out of hospitals from his earliest days for a number of different health issues. Eventually, doctors discovered that one of his kidneys wasn't functioning properly and that was the source of his physical problems, but I would say that the larger emotional trauma that came out of this time in his life was a failure to bond with his primary caregiver (usually mom but can also be dad). It is absolutely crucial that a child spend those first 9 months of life very closely connected to their mother. Studies have shown that if a child doesn't bond with a parent during the earliest phases of its life, the damage will be irreparable. Unfortunately, children that have to spend a lot of time at the hospital for health complications after birth are at elevated risk of missing out on this bonding experience and then struggle with emotional and mental issues later in life. That was about all I could quickly find online about his childhood, but maybe some of you that are bigger fans know more about his relationship with his parents and his formative schooling experiences. I read that he started boxing when he was 12 in response to bullying. I bet this also contributed to an internal lack of security and sense of self-worth. The main take away here is that your childhood experiences affect your adult experiences. Childhood isn't something that just magically ends one day. You carry it inside of you throughout your entire life. If we want to help people like Liam *before* they develop drug addictions, or before they have intimacy issues, or before they die by suicide, we have to go back to the source of the problems, which would be the experiences they have growing up in a dysfunctional family. Hopefully we can learn from Liam's situation, and I do believe our society is moving towards being more honest and open about the devastating effects of mental health issues on all of our lives, not just for celebrities, and we will soon be able to change our culture to one where we're giving people the bonding they need with their primary caregivers that will prevent all of the other problems that they're having later in life.
I will admit that remembering back to the first time he was on X-Factor and then the next year when he was put with the other guys, I always felt like he seemed mature for his age. Like the old soul of the group. So sorry to see where drugs and alcohol took him. The hold they have on a person can be very hard to break from. Another lost talent. My heart goes out to his son.
I always thought he was the best singer out of them all. I was never a fan of one direction but watched them that year on X factor and it doesn’t feel that long ago at all.
i literally just don’t understand how you can pass out and fall over a balcony that’s as tall as your collarbone. if what they’re saying is true and he passed out a few mins before in the lobby, then it’s plausible. but it sounds to me like he was having a bad drug trip and jumped off. depression + drugs can really make you do some weird stuff. it’s so heartbreaking. i’m really struggling to come to terms with it. my heart goes out to his family and his little boy. so so sad.
My son and I discovered One Direction in 2013 when I was 40 years old!!! I was going through a really bad time and then I start listening to and watching these adorable funny young guys. They made us smile and laugh with their wholesome antics and catchy pop music (which I wanted for my son). We even went to 2 of their concerts! I've cried these last few days and hope Liam is at peace and will miss him😢
when the hotel manager decided to send him back, alone to his room, considering that he was mostly unconscious, why hasn't he thought of at least locking the balcony doors knowing the risks it posed to a guest under substance influence, while waiting for help to arrive?
Liam coulda simply unlocked it. The only kinda lock that might have kept him from opening the balcony door, would require a power tool, and the manager, having other guests to attend to, probably didn't have time to think-of that. He did the first thing that came to mind: He called his equivalent of 9-1-1.
Tearing room apart .. . But only the TV was broken? That TV would not be on the stand anymore if he'd trashed that room. What was on the screen? It looked demonic.
He never FELL. He JUMPED! Why anyone would think a permanent solution to a temporary problem is a good idea is baffling. He's singing with the angels now. R.I.P. big man.
Interesting 🤔 My 2 cents is Most likely by the time someone Arrives at the **Decision** to END themseLves, they’re far Too Deep into the Depths of Depression to rationalize the concept of Temporary Problem/Permanent Solution.
The staff member that called 911 said absolutely and confidently, “he was under the influence of drugs AND alcohol “. 4-5 staff members also left before their shifts were completed before the police arrived. The Argentinian police are looking for the drug dealer. Staff literally reported they hadn't been able to enter Liam's room "for days" nor this day too. How did the staff member already know Liam “was under the influence of DRUGS and alcohol”? Is the dealer a regular for the rich and famous at this elite hotel? Seems like some staff either supplied Liam directly or with a hookup for the drugs and covering their end.
The staff member knew, because Liam had been down to the lobby, several times. The last time he was there, he started breakin'-up stuff, then he passed-out; when he came-to, they helped him back to his room, and called the emergency service (whatever 9-1-1 is, in that country).
there’s leaked audio that suggests someone in the hotel was supplying him. It would make sense why they opted to not call 911 the first time he was acting crazy in the lobby and then passed out
it's not rocket science. you don't need to do a blood (or any) test to figure out when someone is severely abusing drugs and alcohol. you can even make a solid assumption on the exact type of drugs that were used if the individual is presenting stereotypical and idiosyncratic behaviours.
Have you never witnessed someone under the influence?? Never seen a drunk person or someone on drugs?? You don't need to know anything to understand what is going on.
I feel for the guy as he seems to have been hurting mentally. I see he was drinking and mixing benzos. As someone who had a problem with benzos for 7 years...those two together are a bad combination that never leads to anything good. Those two played a big role in this.
One Direction is like The Beatles? As a member of this generation that had One Direction, with all due respect, were never even in the same league as The Beatles. Like, no way ever.
I don't really know who one direction are. I've heard the two words used together before but it very well could've just been people talking about walking in the same direction...

You have to be conscious to walk, he is not the first to die during a cocaine induced agitation episode. I feel sorry for him, I don't think being famous made his life any better. My condolences to his family, friends and fans.
I think they said "semi conscious". To me, semi-conscious would mean, someone was dizzy, and not fully aware of their surroundings, and what they're doing---about to pass-out---someone can walk, in that state.
As it should be. Here you have someone who worked hard and achieved great things, only to be cut down short in life due to, apparently, drug abuse. No life is worth more or less than any other, but certainly the death of a talented celebrity in circumstances like these is less common and more newsworthy.
@@thatoneguy_9633 it’s not hypocritical at all. someone could mistakenly claim I am being contradictory, but again, that would be incorrect. Both concepts can exist in tandem: all lives are of equal value, but the passing of highly accomplished individuals is more newsworthy. it’s the way the world is, not how you want it to be.
@pyootchnich by you stating notoriety as the reason for the difference of the reaction in death... you just disproved your own theory of equal value... trying to say it is not hypocritical or contradictory is a defensive statement because of how wrong you are.
Also mental health is a big thing and a lot of people do not realise that words hurt and always 2 sides to a story I come off social media as it’s dangerous and better to try to keep private.
Hoping that there is no foul play here....but I viewed some news and they say that there is a 2 women went in to the room of Liam before the accident happen...we don't know if this is true....we really don't know what happen so we pray for his soul...
I remember JFK getting killed, and people crying, and I thought "Why are people crying about someone they don't even know". Then, 14 years later, or whatever it was, when Elvis Presley died, I cried for a week!!! Think about some celebrity that you really love, are obsessed, with, or whatever.... You might cry, if they, all-of-a-sudden, just up and died---maybe someone you grew-up, loving---especially, someone, so young. That was another reason Elvis and JFK dying, was so devastating: They were so young.
Liam Payne always had mental health issues and drinking addiction during the band when he and the boys were made to overwork and exploited by the management, after his solo career fell off his mental health and substance abuse escalated more which let to him doing things that he shouldn't, some of his actions are not defendable and should be criticised but some of the fans went to the extend of cyberbullying and wanting to erase him from the existence of the band. He knew he was on his final days was suicidal but was afraid to end himself, him doing the antics in Naill concert was just to enjoy the fans one last time and also to make amends with Niall. Around the time he was active on social media and he definitely read all the mean stuffs which made him more depressed, so he spend his final hours saying goodbye to his fans and took the substances to cope with depression but ended up in accidental suicide. Substance abuse let to his passing but the Depression pulled the trigger and took away his life. Hope Liam Payne's story helps people to seek help. May his soul rest in peace 🕊️💔
@@Artnotforthesakeofart While his behaviour is not justified but it was all because of his mental health and substance abuse and cyberbullying which he definitely read knowing how active he was on his final days, by time he over took the substance to cope up with his depression in the hotel, the real Liam was already gone, it was just a living lifeless body which was not under his control and it ended jumping from the balcony to end its misery.
I was addicted to fentanyl, Xanax and cocaine for a long time I’ve been sober 5 years now but I truly believe that we will learn soon he was on the balcony getting fresh air cause he felt sick or too high and he probably leaned over the railing passed out and fell over because he didn’t have any injuries to his hands like he braced himself like anyone would if they fell. I promise you he leaned over the railing either cause he felt sick or needed fresh air or something and being too high is how he passes out and fell
why won't you show the paraphernalia he use? don't worry every street corner in America has some type of drug paraphernalia on the ground anyways let the population see it so that they learn that this is what drugs do to you
I don't agree!!! There's another video of a guest, being interviewed.... He said he saw Liam fall, past his window, and he wasn't making a sound. Someone, who gets pushed, woulda been screaming---or, too, if he hada slipped, and fallen, he woulda hollered!!!
Wow, People in the comments talk like they knew the guy😂 his death ain't no more important than anyone else! Leave the dead guy alone and go back to your basements.
Well that is very possible given that his mental state worsened by drug and alcohol use, there is a good chance of psychosis, he may have been in a psychotic state What led to his fatal fall
Yeah, but they'll, most likely, be much, much older!!! I can imagine that one of the reasons this is so devastating, for some people, is because he was so young, and had so much of life, ahead of him.
Yeah, I haven't said it, but when I first heard, I was like "I didn't know anyone could die, falling from a balcony, on the third floor"!!! I mean, obviously, slammin'-down on concrete, would be bad, but.... The coroner said he had a cracked skull; so, I'm thinking that's what did it.
The obvious the room proves there was a physical struggle and 2nd this was not a accident there are other hotel workers saying and it's not being reported on media hotel workers was supplying him with drugs and prostitutes who sent these sex workers 😮who he knows in Argentina that supply the drugs this is very questionable
No, I don't agree. When the hotel manager called whatever is their equivalent of 9-1-1, he said Liam was tearin'-up his room---he had just been in the lobby, where he had broken stuff. Secondly, if you're thinking he was pushed or thrown from the balcony, I don't think that's the case, either, as there's another video on here, of a guest saying he saw Liam fall past his window, and that he wasn't making a sound. IMO, if a person gets pushed, they would scream, on the way, down.
I totally agree with the person who said " stop idolizing these fools". They are people , just like you - isn't that what the " woke " people preach . He was some kid who got lucky , or wss in the right place at the right time- made WAY too much money , decided to go and live the rock n roll lifestyle. Unfortunately he couldn't handle the heavy shit and now hes DEAD. End of story.
I know what I'm going to say it wild but could he have been thrown by hotel staff? As its weird the caller to the police describes wat was going to happen b4 it happened
No, I don't think so There's another video on here, that is an interview with a guest who saw Liam fall past his window, and he said Liam didn't make a sound, on the way down. I'm thinking that someone who gets pushed/thrown from a balcony---or even slips and falls-off---they would be screaming, on the way, down. Also, I think that when someone is going-around breaking-up stuff, as it was reported that Liam was doing, the natural next thought is that they could hurt themselves, or others, because it's clear they're not being rational.
@catwhisperer9489 yh 💯 coz the maid was there cleaning as they sed they saw him jump but I think it's been retracted as they saying he was alone now but obvs hotel staff had access. Why would they be cleaning with him in there? We're they trying to rush him out n get rid of him and chucked him over. But this is the scene set physically but maybe there was a plan in place by someone else
So tragic when young people need healthy and dictinct protective support which can come from perhaps a trusted?/organisation/ a government Ministry.
Drugs are shitti Kids!
Stop covering life of drugs addict stars.
No one turned out to the homeless person who overdosed the other day....
As it should be. Here you have someone who worked hard and achieved great things, only to be cut down short in life due to, apparently, drug abuse. No life is worth more or less than any other, but certainly the death of a talented celebrity in circumstances like these is less common and more newsworthy.
@pyootchnich what the hypocrisy...
"No life is worth more or less than any other"
First words in the whole statement:
"As it should be"
@@thatoneguy_9633 it’s not hypocritical at all. someone could mistakenly claim I am being contradictory, but again, that would be incorrect.

People standing around crying like they knew him. It's really annoying.
Stop 🛑 worshipping these celebrities. This guy was drunk and high in another country acting fool. Recipe for disaster.
Doesn't matter. He was still someone's son, father, brother. And he was a part of my young people's lives. Addiction is a disease.
IKR! Plus horrible behavior towards his ex and people in the hotel lobby.
The world doesn't revolve around you mate. You cannot take away people's love for music and art!
He certainly wasn't conscious after his fall.
Nobody cares what I think, especially myself, so I will refrain from commenting.
Except you just did 😂
I was addicted to fentanyl, Xanax and cocaine for a long time I’ve been sober 5 years now but I truly believe that we will learn soon he was on the balcony getting fresh air cause he felt sick or too high and he probably leaned over the railing passed out and fell over because he didn’t have any injuries to his hands like he braced himself like anyone would if they fell. I promise you he leaned over the railing either cause he felt sick or needed fresh air or something and being too high is how he passes out and fell
Yeah, but I don't think a person who jumped, would try to brace themselves, either.
I'm more concerned about the 20,000+ murdered children in Gaza; they never had a chance to live--or leave Gaza.
and others are more concerned about the dying species of the world, so what?
People and especially children die all over the world. We're not gonna stop talking about loved ones who died because of what is happening in Gaza
Really couldn’t care less about Gaza

why won't you show the paraphernalia he use? don't worry every street corner in America has some type of drug paraphernalia on the ground anyways let the population see it so that they learn that this is what drugs do to you
There's another video, on here, that shows it !!
Liam did a stupid thing.
Cheryl waiting for the Will reading to see how much her Son will get
She knows her son would inherit.
Well...he was drunk and high so clearly he wasn't in his right mind.
If you see the fall he is falling at an angle so it looked like leap from the window. If it was accident fall he would be just a straight drop.
🤔
Oh, after listening to the call I'd say he was thrown from the balcony.
Then you're the only one that thinks that. What motive?
I don't agree!!!
There's another video of a guest, being interviewed.... He said he saw Liam fall, past his window, and he wasn't making a sound. Someone, who gets pushed, woulda been screaming---or, too, if he hada slipped, and fallen, he woulda hollered!!!
Ok detective.
How would he even fall if not fully conscious. Is the fence so small?
he had some help

unconscious but somehow magically was able to throw himself off a balcony
Wow,
People in the comments talk like they knew the guy😂 his death ain't no more important than anyone else! Leave the dead guy alone and go back to your basements.
Well that is very possible given that his mental state worsened by drug and alcohol use, there is a good chance of psychosis, he may have been in a psychotic state What led to his fatal fall
Someone on the second floor heard " so far so good"
What does that mean? That they were purposely gettin him high?
@@alistairwatson7263 No, it means on his way down, it's a joke
😂
This is just preparation for when the other members eventually pass away
Yeah, but they'll, most likely, be much, much older!!! I can imagine that one of the reasons this is so devastating, for some people, is because he was so young, and had so much of life, ahead of him.
What if the hotel didn't make him go to his room
🤔
She says it’s sad with a grin on her face
His dead need to be investigated please 🙏
Anyone else noticed that the Buenos Aires police statement (as typed by CNN) refers to Costa Rica rather than Argentina? Minute 2:13...
It's the name of the street where the hotel is.
I feel like 3rd floor should be a survivable height. Obviously not in this case. Poor family
Yeah, I haven't said it, but when I first heard, I was like "I didn't know anyone could die, falling from a balcony, on the third floor"!!! I mean, obviously, slammin'-down on concrete, would be bad, but.... The coroner said he had a cracked skull; so, I'm thinking that's what did it.
has Simon Cowell said anything, I heard he stopped the Britain's got talent auditions for that day
that dude's hands ain't clean either...
So sad really
using illegal drugs?
I guess I should care for a person who never did anything for anyone else?

When he was alive nobody care now he's gone everybody's crying
He was a drunk addict shame that a rich boy who knew nothing of real struggle was so sad
His "real struggle" was INSIDE of him!!!
I hope you go through what he was going through.

I know what I'm going to say it wild but could he have been thrown by hotel staff? As its weird the caller to the police describes wat was going to happen b4 it happened
No, I don't think so
There's another video on here, that is an interview with a guest who saw Liam fall past his window, and he said Liam didn't make a sound, on the way down.
LIAM FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT “ONE DIRECTION” MEANT DOWN.
So tragic when young people need healthy and dictinct protective support which can come from perhaps a trusted?/organisation/ a government Ministry. Too many particularly young celebrities end up losing their way in life. A flash flooding of emotions on the public stage which does impact how they function mentally. Again and again...too many tragedies in the entertainment/public world. Grieving loved ones, only God and time heals. Prayers and God bless.
Well, he certainly went in one direction...
