Mel, I adore this vlog because I love the look of watches. I have a small collection of watches (nothing too fancy) but these definitely give me an idea of what to look for in my next watch. A watch segment would be a great addition especially from a male or female's point of view. I also like dainty jewelry pieces but I am a big fan of watches with large faces. I recently got into watches, and I find that I just don't care about anything else anymore! The detail that goes into the different movements, the history, the absolute skillset required to make a watch like Rolex....I don't know! I just don't think any other luxury item can even hold a candle to that level of skill and detail. A decade ago, a family member gave me his Rolex before he passed away. It was old, beat up, scratched, but meant the world to him. I put it in a box and kept it there. Just a few months ago, I got hardcore into watches and realized that my timepiece was too incredible to keep in a box. I went and had it serviced by Rolex and just got it back! My 40+ year old Datejust looks brand new. Wearing it every single day!💖 I think you should do more watch vlogs. This was so much fun to "watch"! Thanks for taking us along!

My dream watch since I was in my 20s was a Rolex datejust. It was amazing when I finally got one. Your hubby is right to get a size 36 as not only does it look good, your eyes will also thank you for it too esp when you're in your 40s 😁. My datejust is in the two tone steel and gold Jubilee bracelet as I have yellow undertone (your hubby was again correct on that!) I went for the black dial with diamond markers and fluted bezel. I was eyeing the MOP dial at first but for some reason the MOP didn't look good on my "yellow undertone" skin lol.

Great to see you getting into watches! I've been collecting and got the sport models the Pepsi jubilee, Sub, and Hulk. You need to go to the gray market to get some of your pieces. I don't care for my smaller models now. All the young girls are wearing the large sport models. Heard they are coming out with an all everose sub. with a blue dial.

Loved seeing the Rolex watches. I’ve been looking at pre loved Rolexes on 1st dibs. They have a ton! Some pretty cool vintage ones as well with unusual dial colors.

I love watches. I have a small collection inc. Rado, Longines, Tag, Tissot. On my Wishlist for many many years is an Omega Consellation. But lately I’ve been only wearing my Garmin (to check my heart rate….plus we haven’t been going out!)
That’s a pretty good collection so far Fiona. I have a longines, a Hamilton , an omega, a seiko, a tissot , a Rolex, and a micro brand watch. Omega is an awesome brand you will love that watch if you pick one up ❤️

Oyster Perpetuals are nowhere near to 8k list price and also they still are waaaayyyy "easier" to get than a Pepsi or Daytona. (From what my ADs told me). Also every Rolex AD has to have Tudor as well by the way.

Seems like most of those were not for exhibition. They Usually don’t have movements in side and are not functional. All the ones you tired on had moving seconds hand. I’m sure you could have purchased any of them if you asked nicely.

Hi Mel I got my first Rolex Last month I’d been looking for ages and none in my price point I ended up getting an oyster perpetual date 34 mm in steel with a salmon pink face and it’s my best purchase ever( reveal on my youtube channel ) cost me e6250 euros sooo hard to get I bought it over the phone without seeing it in person and drove 4 hours get it here in Ireland but it was well worth the wait great blog love your vids x

Longines is a good start for female.
I have a Two tone Tissot with date and diamond accents with a rectangle dial. Very smart not to flashy and I feel comfortable to wear it to work.
Still love my Longines! They are reliable, classy, understated and timeless so perfect for work to evening. The case is thin so the watch sits almost flush to your wrist and look also like a piece of jewellery comparing to thicker cases like a Rolex which looks bulkier and hence more masculine.
That was cute but the Rolex with the green bezel is not nicknamed the “Skermet”. It’s nicknamed the “Kermit” after Kermit the Frog. Thanks for filming!

@@MelinMelbourne Hi Mel! I hope you had a beautiful Hawaii family trip. I have 2 favorites (hehe)… the Everose Gold Daytona & the 2-tone datejust 36. I also have an older 31 Presidential with a Diamond bezel which I’m also crazy about but I’ve gotten into larger cases lately which looks amazing with my different stacks. Too many I’m in love with. But these are my daily go-to’s. I also have a bunch of Chanel & Hermés watches but they’re more like bracelets to me for some reason. I don’t find myself reaching for them as much but they’re all so beautiful nonetheless. If you can get your hands on a Daytona (retail), I highly recommend but I wouldn’t pay the outrageous secondary markup. I’d rather pay the markup price on another Kelly or Birkin 😂😂😂 but that’s just me. I have some friends who got lucky & received “the call” from their Rolex SA to go in for the infamous Daytona. You never know 😉 I guess it’s the same if not similar process of having your name on the list for a Kelly or Birkin at Hermes. I noticed the main people I personally know who actually buy Daytonas off the secondary market are uber serious collectors and/or they’re uber wealthy & spend money like it’s nothing. I’ve seen some Daytonas even go for close to triple the price off the market & in my honest opinion it’s not worth it. I’m so happy to hear from you. Thank you for replying to me sweet Mel! XOXO 💐

Are you aware that you can purchase different color Rolex dials? I never return a watch so I’m not concerned with it is no longer under warranty. I always buy from my watch broker and brand new, usually at a discount. I have been collecting for years, enjoy your new hobby.
