    I got this machine as a free gift from a company that made a mistake on another order that I had made. I love it. I have a house full of pets and use it daily on my floors. It's easy to use and the floors are dry within a minute or so. They do not sell Bissell here in Norway so I have nothing to compare it to but all in all it does a really good job at keeping my floors nice and clean.

      What technique do you do when using it?

  • @hullaballoo11
    @hullaballoo11 6 лет назад +58

    Two things that need to be pointed out here, firstly, the microfibre roller brushes do the cleaning, not the back and forward motion. You need to go much slower than you are in this demo to allow longer brush contact with the floor. When you pass over a particular area as quickly as you are the brush is only making contact for a split second on a particular area.
    There are a couple of times in the video where you do slow down, and you can see immediately that it cleans more effectively. That is the correct technique. Slow down and even hold it still over heavily soiled areas and let the brushes do the work.
    Second point is that your Bissell test is done with "wet" dirt, which is far easier to clean than the dried mess that you have tested the Karcher unit on.
    It would be interesting to see how the Bissell fairs on mess that was left to dry for a few hours. A big plus on the Karcher unit is that it is able to clean right up to the edges of a floor, the Bissell doesn't, so you end up having to clean the edges manually anyway.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 лет назад +10

      I plan to do a direct comparison between the two and I know the Bissell will clean better which is why the Karcher is at the back of my cupboard unused. Yes the Karcher cleans closer to the edge, but all the other disadvantages such as the weight in use, the fact it doesn't stand up on its own and the poor performance even when going slow makes me prefer the Bissell.

    Great reviews, I have had two of these Karcher machines, the only advantage this has over the Bissell Crosswave is the up to the edge cleaning, I bought the Karcher to replace my Vax which gave up the ghost after approx' 3 years, I had two of them, each lasted about the same time, good machines, like you say they seem to have stopped making them as I would have bought another, now the Karchers, I said I have had two, they lasted about 6 weeks each, what happens is the water/detergent feed stops working & what ever cleaning you try you cannot get it to work, both sent back to John Lewis, who I must say are very good, Karcher as a manufacturer are not. After sending the last Karcher back(I wasn't having another) I started looking for another make, came across the Bissell Crosswave, after my Karcher debacle I decided to look for reviews, I bought it on the strength of your review of the machine, just used it, as previously mentioned, the only thing I miss is the Karchers up to the edge cleaning, I don't mind the noise, I would add the instructions are a bit naff. but 1st impressions are I'm very pleased with it. I would not recommend the Karcher even if it was the only one on the market!

    Hi, I'm from Singapore and I have a motor problem with the machine. The rollers will stop turning and there will be a loud screeching noise from the motor. I had 3 replacement and repairs of this machine as the problem can be so bad that it's basically unusable. At the 4th replacement, I am still having occasional problem with the motor and it's made worst when you accidentally bump the rollers into furniture or raise the handle too high, i.e.: at about 70 degrees.
    The cleaning quality is generally 8/10 as hairs/furs cannot be picked up effectively. Visible dirt like dust, spills, oils are effectively remove. You can actually have other detergents like sanitizers, general floor cleaning agents or kitchen cleaning detergent if the kitchen floor is especially oily compared to other floor surfaces around the house.
    Overall, IF the machine works like it should, it's 8/10. 2 points less because it's heavy and doesn't pick up hair effectively.
    The motor problem remains a pain to me even 3 months after purchase.

    The Karcher is very expensive machine for what it does. The off and on button was finicky and there’s no button to control the solution. I have a Bissell Spinwave which cost me less than $100.00 US dollars. Although It does collect the water it’s not a big deal because that’s what the pads are for, and the floor dries in just a few minutes. Based on the videos I’ve seen on the Karcher, I believe the spinwave does a better job than the Karcher at a fraction of the price. I’m not a Bissell affiliate I’m just a consumer.

  • @laurenra7
    @laurenra7 4 года назад +1

    A thick layer of dried dirt, food, or whatever doesn't magically wipe up unless you wet it first. Water is the universal solvent. Several passes with the machine apparently do the trick as it eventually wets the dirt enough to remove it. Better to dribble some water on the thick dirt first, wait a couple minutes, then run the machine over it and it will come up in one easy pass. Same with dishes, incidentally. Let them soak for a couple minutes in water and you can usually rinse them off almost effortlessly.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 лет назад

      It may be OK for laminate because the solution wets the rollers rather than putting it down directly onto the floor, but you can’t control the solution as it flows all the time. The Bissell Crosswave may also be suitable especially as you do have control of how much solution you use.

      The rollers wouldn't scrub and penetrate the carpet properly. I haven't seen one up close but I recon it wouldn't dry the carpet well either, hence it wouldn't make it very clean as it wouldn't remove much dirty water.

The Crosswave's microfiber it's much better than Karcher. Karcher just create this machine for competence issues. Thank you for the video.

      To be fair, in the Crosswave test, the dirt was liquid. This was hardened. Hence it was more difficult to clean. And I love how the OP says the instruction say that you gotta go slower, but he doesn't and so the dirt doesn't get cleaned. :D

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 лет назад

      It doesn't wet the floor very much in the first place, so they are dry within minutes. The cleaning solution is distributed onto the rollers, rather than directly onto the floor. The Bissell Crosswave does a better job of cleaning, though wets the floor more than the Karcher, but the floor is still dry in a short period of time. Both machines use far less water than the traditional mop and bucket method.

    Hey. please tell me which is better to buy Bissell 17132 (Crosswave) or Karcher FC5. I have want the vacuum cleaner to wash the entire floor. but I heard that Bissell 17132 (Crosswave) does not wash 2 centimeters to the edge (plinth). and Karcher FC5 washes the entire surface to the wall. but I doubt whether pure Karcher FC5 washes the floor. is worth whether buy Karcher FC5 (homes there is no carpets, only tiles and laminate) or all??? buy Bissell 17132 (Crosswave) and distance until wall wash cloth?
