I think it's very awesome Richard stepped back into the Rimac after that harrowing crash in 2017 true sense of bravery in that, also the Nevera is such an insane hypercar can't wait to see what Rimac have in store for it!

Also helps he didn’t have any hills to fall down.

Congratulations @Richard Hammond on a safe drive! There may not have been a mountain to fall off, but there were plenty of other things you could have…bumped into? I applaud your restraint in not attempting to jump the Nevera over the Atlantic Ocean just to see if it can be done. Bravo Sir! I was sweating bullets at the idea and seriously applaud you for getting back into another Rimac after your last encounter. That took more courage than I’d have.😅

Good on ya, Richard, for going over the hump and seeing the other side of trauma. Jokes and all are fun, but that was really scary and we all know it. Takes a lot of recovery to be able to drive this car again and I'm just so proud and happy for you dude. Cheers to life.

It was serious when I read Jeremy's account on Drive Tribe and genuinely thought he was dead. Not just hurt but actually dead.

One of the most terrifying moments of my life was being driven round the Alpine route at Millbrook by a professional test driver in a one-off prototype supercar that we had just finished bolting together 😮😱

Richard, dude, never apologise for them, whoever they were, putting you in a situation that was basically nuts to begin with. Ya know ? I hope you never have to address the Rimac issue ever again.

Is it possible thst thr crash axtually boosted Rimac's profile, or was it financially painful for them?
    Discuss.

According to Mate Rimac, the crash increased the name recognition of the company and got orders for the car out of it.

Why were Richard's iPhone camera lenses taped up?

    • @MoreDRIVETRIBE
      @MoreDRIVETRIBE  5 месяцев назад +5

We were filming at UTAC (Millbrook) where there is often secret testing being carried out by manufacturers of unreleased cars etc. You have to cover your lenses on your phone whilst on site and you have a minder with you during the day to ensure your main cameras are not capturing anything you shouldn’t be.

@@MoreDRIVETRIBE that's fascinating, thanks for explaining that nuance. Would be really interesting on this channel to explore those unusual ins-n-outs / technical aspects of making these videos a reality

I suspect Rimac got a great rep for how well the car took Hammond's crash. For such a small series car, it just did what it had to in terms of safety.

i like the fact it doesn't look like a frog or an egg
it looks like it could have anything from a V8 to a V12 in it, but it doesn't
it just looks like a hypercar

This is actually a rather smart looking battery pack on wheels.
Put a proper engine in it and it might even become desirable.

Love this but when a car is called a fridge(nevera Spanish)you normally don’t think it would be sleek and runs on batteries.

I'm pretty sure if Captain Slow was Hammond's copilot on that horrific day, nothing wrong would have happened!
    May:
    - Hammond, you hooligan, slow down, you're not in the race anymore!
    Hammond:
    - Well, alright! But, you do know I have a reputation to uphold, right?
    May:
    - If you "keep" your reputation and I survive, I swear to God I'll personally name every flower, shovel and grain of dirt that's been used on your grave!
