I'm mostly interest in the reverse gear. Imagine not needing correction tape or a correction fluid/pen, instead just needing to put in reverse and then it'll erase itself for you! Truly a dream come true.
This is a lovely pen, extremely well made. Just a question... How come you didn't consider adding a small spring inside, to add some tension to the lever and stabilize it against involuntary shift-up (or down)? At any rate, this is a piece of art.
As far as I understand by now, you have been building all your turning and milling tools by yourself. My best compliments for such high degree of precision!
I've had to build my own tools, though nothing requiring that level of precision. Still, as a man who has done it, there is a type of satisfaction that stems from doing so.

@@Giuliana-w1f Here in the US, some long-haul truckers still use manual transmissions. I'm not a trucker, but know how use a manual; in fact, any vehicle I drive will be a manual.
@@Silver_Turtle i know that it isn't literaly "no one", but most people don't know how to use a manual, and they don't need to, because 96% of cars are automatic. I live in Argentina, i think i haven't seen more than 15 automatic cars in my entire life, you need to know how to drive a manual to have a driving licence. And even people that can afford an automatic, usually don't buy them because they preffer to have control of the car. I think that driving a manual shoud be something that everyone that drives should know (and also how to control understeerand oversteer in fwd and rwd without traction control or stability control, but that's a little more complicated, even if it could prevent some accidents). Idk why i always write a lot, i just like to do it.
This is awesome. If you plan on making another one of these, you should use the inside of one of those erasable pens, and make the pen so that when it is in “reverse” an eraser sticks out the back. Wouldn’t even have to change much I don’t think; the moving peace inside the pen is already in the rearmost position when it is in “reverse”. this channel is so neat!
adding spring on both ends for shut (neutral) position would be perfect, the spring give a bit resistance when shifting between gear and has purpose to keep the pen shut when not used (neutral).
this would actually be cool for mechanical pencils with thicker led so when you need more led you just upshift . maybe find a way to have it reset the led so it’ll push it forward some when you run out in 6th gear
i grew up with Esterbrooke fountain pens and later moved into "modern" technology with the invention of the Parker T Ball jotter. This ball point is a true work of art. Amazing.
Ballpoints are great, but fountain pens are unmatched. It's pretty easy to carry a fountain pen nowadays, but they still much bigger than the ballpoints.

I am always amazed at the incredibly clever "engineer hacks" with which you advance your projects! Hm, how do I cut a lot of nylon threads into pieces of the same length? Ah! I'll quickly build a CNC machine for it! This is absolute super cool! But what I would like most of all: A video (or a couple of videos) in which you demonstrate and explain your machine park! Such a machining center, which is also a lathe, milling machine and laser cutter, is a great project in itself. And as far as I could see, it's a DIY machine too. A video about your machine (s), that would be the greatest for me!
This is a surprisingly good start. But how cool would be to form a luxury sports car, that uses the same materials as the car itself, and resembling the same external form.
fantastic pen. and as a user of bolt action pens myself. the wood is great and practical but personally I would get it in a car's metallic color if I would get that setup. that or chrome. and who knows if it's possible to make a skull shifter.
Like most bolt action pens (that I have seen/own), the bolt is basically a little screw. So it should be just as simple as changing the bolt on the bolt action pens. I have a few different bolts.
This is beautiful. I love it. As for the take it from here and Run Part, it would be cool if each gear corresponded with the resistance of the roll of the ballpoint.
Beautiful creation. I hope i can buy it someday. Just a suggestion, put a spring below so chaging gear can have a resistance. Also if ut can be for s pensil or graphite tip ut will be more realistic. With every gear change more pencil would come out. But wonderful creation. Exceptional quality and talent. 👏🏻👏🏻
Bolt action pens are available, this mechanism doesn't really make sense because the pen refill isn't fully extended in all positions, which means most are pointless.
Steady hands and eyeware. Nice work.
