I Cancelled my TV License after watching your videos right, 1-2 weeks later I received a letter saying “ My license was cancelled and noted that my address does not require one “ but, to my surprise the TV Licensing sent me a REFUND in the way of a cheque that I never asked for,. Things that makes my blood boil is calling ANY MP "Right Honorable" and also ANY M.P. given a Title for doing a job as an M.P. All titles in the U.K. should be scrapped. I'm not surprised MPs are clueless about the licence fee but I think the BBC might have a bit more awareness and there are two ways they could go, A: double down on the licence fee or B: acknowledge which way the market is moving and fund themselves through their numerous online services and monetizing their back catalogue. Ultimately consumers will decide the future of the TV licence.
I doubt the BBC could make a profit given its "special" status, if it did, surely that would lead to questions about the price of the TV license. Also, possibly why its more profitable shows are apportioned off to BBC studios to keep it at a loss

I've been free from TV licence for 3 years or more and don't intend to pay to be brainwashed anymore, besides, there's no liability to pay council tax either, once you learned how. Educate yourself and you won't regret it!

Technically they would need to prove you are watching TV too do anything rather than you needing to prove you dont. You can call the BBC and tell them you dont need a licence but they seem to use that call as an excuse to come to your house and rummage through your stuff so I wouldnt personally recommend it but its an option if you want to pursue it.

Started out as a wildlife programme but soon showed as a fraud of added effects of burning land (added afterwards?) areas and over dramatic dubbed music and ‘commentary’. I’m going to have to cancel my licence which seems the only way the BBC, and more importantly, the justice system in this country, cannot make us pay for this false programme making!

The operating costs cover both PSB BBC and it's commercial arm. You can find the report from the NAO.
