When some people complain about artist of such kind of rank, let me tell you something kids. After 4 long year of hiatus, you are searching yourself. When you've been a major headliner for long time, you start thinking of retirement. Just like Garrix did in 2016, just like SHM did in 2019, and now Hardwell in 2022 changed their sounds. Even David Guetta realized that the old EDM is already dead. It's time for something new. Like it or not, people evolve. Their sound too. If you've been such artist and you retire, after time wouldn't you try something new? It may sound strange, but right now we are witnessing history. We've got evolution in the EDM community. Just accept it. You can't always be the same. Big room was amazing. But his time is gone. Maybe W&W will continue to play it. But do not expect to listen it everytime when Hardwell play somewhere. Anyway, the set was kinda surprising, and really good one to remember. Let's see what's it gonna be after now. P.S. That SHM trolling was awesome. People were like: WTF?! It was so funny to see the reaction. Just priceless.
I’m ok with his new sound I fell in love with Hardwell because of bigroom but I could care less if he played a slapstick remix to baby shark I’d rather be return and be who he truly wants to be than to play something that doesn’t feel right to him. So good to have you back Hardwell!!!
Everyone complaining about him not playing his big room style needs a wake up call. He’s back after 4 years with a fresh new style! I’m all for it! WELCOME BACK KING!!
Ok but Big room was crazy good and more melodically, cuz… :/ Psycho trence would be better then techno, but it’s only my opinion, btw I don’t like techno 😅
Cried to this set because of the emotion behind the lyrics, the energy in his set. It’s two years I’m sober today and I’ve done a lot of soul searching, I felt especially inspired. Thank you @hardwell
Entiendo que algunos les desagradó el nuevo estilo que acogió Hardwell pero si el está feliz haciendo lo que hace actualmente, lo demás no importa, miren como reventó el Mainstage. Déjenlo ser y que brille por lo que es y por lo que fue.
To everyone who's complaining about the new sound, you guys seriously didn't think that he'd come back sounding different? EDM as a whole has been moving towards classic house music, many artists have been going back to their roots for years now, in the four years that he's been away EDM has evolved and so has Hardwell, deal with it, you don't like it? Great, stick to other djs. That being said, this set was fucking lit af, best set of the whole weekend imo.
@@ChuckD05 Exactly, that was kinda the point I was trying to make, people think that Big Room is gonna be around forever and while it may still sound it's not gonna be the most popular genre as it was, it had a good run but it's over now, maybe it's time for a little less cake throwing and a little more dancing
@Son of a Pitch Dude, all of your favorite djs started with that "techno shit", that "techno shit" is what paved the way for what EDM ended up becoming during the era it became popular, big room was just a trend, you stick to your "8 steps to the left and 8 to the right" and to your cake throwing, whenever you decide to grow the fuck up we'll be waiting for you dancing to some real tunes

NGL all this new genres are very forced. This is the reason people are not really feeling it & not because they are hating on him. See the set of Nicky Romero of ultra 2022, first half of the stage was so forced with Tech house with terrible transition between tracks. It's not that people are not accepting this new form, it's more about they can't feel the natural & authentic vibe to it.
The ending didn't left any impressive emotional mark to it. It just felt like he came, everyone ride on his hype & he went. See the ending of Tiesto, Afrojack, Alesso or Garrix's set, u can feel more extreme energy to it, this was totally lacking in Hardwell's performance. I'm not a hater, been loving & admiring Hardwell for years but this was just very not up to the mark for what he is known for.
People were expecting some new sounds from Hardwell & not the already established sounds like Techno. Probably music with some outstanding sound design & beat structure which could've set new standards. This really disappointed my belief in him.
