To fix the snow from melting a tip is to use quartz stairs and slabs to create the couch and desk it is a bit less modern though much better than having to replace the snow every 2 seconds

I remember I built this house when your video came out but I quit Minecraft for a while because I play it on PS3 and there is no updates there it's stuck on Version 1.12 so it's boring but now looking at it again I'm amazed :) But sadly after doing the interior I lost the interior decoration because my brother needed to format the PS3 and we accidentally saved an old save instead of a new save on the USB where there was only the exterior house.
