I landed here after trying to identify instruments in some orchestrated video game music. I've always liked the feel and breadth of fully orchestrated pieces, they have so much more life and personality. This excerpt is one of my favorites, thank you for sharing with us! ☺️
So gorgeous! This has inspired me to write a duet between English Horn and Oboe. I wrote a musical about Princess Diana and then re orchestrated it into an opera. I will re write the beginning of the last song. “Queen of The People’s Hearts” Thanks for the inspiration! Really gorgeous
This is amazing! I'm thinking of switching to the English horn soon, do you have any advice? It's such a beautiful instrument and I fell in love with the sound.
I play clarinet and I've been studying trombone and trumpet, and I'm also trying to learn how to play the suona but I can't find a fingering chart. Simply learning how to get a good sound from a double-reeded instrument (which the suona is) takes practice!
I definitely prefer Marigaux. You simply cannot find a more beautiful oboe tone than that created by the magical Celine Moinet on her Marigaux 901. Heavenly.
Marvelously performed! We, at Orbis Symphonia: Virtual Band, are working on our first Virtual Band project and would like very much to invite you to participate! I'm a percussionist and I usually don't say this, but literally, I want to listen to this all day.
I just switched from oboe to English horn for a song my band is playing! This gives me so much inspiration!!!
I’m switching too. I’ve played before a few times and I think English Horn is cooler than oboe.
My teacher played this piece for us today and it was beautiful I just want to fall asleep with it every night.

Please let me know if there's ever a recording of this available on RUclips. I love Princess Diana so I would love to hear it!
Do you mind sharing it with us?
It sounds like a low pitched string instrument which the sound is SOO GOOD
I had no idea what an English horn was until now. I play French horn and my band teacher was like the English horn is even weirder. I now know why
Nah, french horn weirder
@@j_o_s_h_t :(
@@Joker74312 I was just joking.
It's not English...it's not a horn...but I like it!
The wonderfulness and comfort of her performance are irreplaceable , and outclassing

Marvelous!!!!
Truly wonderful!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Brava, darling. You have the most beautiful tone I've heard!
Absolutely fantastic.
I play French Horn and know nothing about reed instruments but this is beautiful.
Same tbh
The French horn is typically the fifth instrument in a woodwind quintet. 😊
This was beautiful.
Beautiful

If you're switching from the oboe, you'll find lots of things much easier on the cor anglais, but you must keep a very open throat.
Start saving money

sounds like a mix between an oboe and a clarinet
No, oboe and bassoon
@@christinap4373 It's actually an Alto Oboe
@@RockStarOscarStern634 exactly
@@bullymaguiregaming6812 It's not really a Horn, but an Alto Oboe in F.
@@RockStarOscarStern634 it’s actually a tenor oboe. Oboe d’amore would be alto.
Lovely!
I love the English horn!
Wow Vivian! I am an EH player, and want to say you aced it. So beautifully!
I heard this in music class so I HAD to listen to it on my own cuz kids talk to much
You have a very delicate way of playing. May I ask, what brand and model is your instrument?
It looks like a Loree, but I'm not sure.
Weihan Xingqi I love Lorée instruments 😍
