One thing I’m curious about because I don’t think you actually said…what IS your full time job if not crochet instruction and pattern making? Also, much respect to your dear partner who supports your endeavors! He is an unsung hero of this channel I so enjoy.

    Ahhh, I want to be like CraftyIntentions too when I grow up!! And also, I want to be like ComplicatedKnots when I grow up, because you've already joined my crochet designer pantheon!! (I'm 28, been crocheting for 5 years, but I haven't designed anything myself, so... I'm crochet teenage I guess? crocheteen? crocheteern? no? ok I'll show myself out now)
    I love Heidi's designs too, she really is amazing, but I almost drove myself insane making the turtle (44 motifs! 44!), so the technique might not be for me! I also used DK weight instead of thread (which was recommended) so the turtle is huge and very huggable, so... worth it?
    Please take care of yourself, your schedule sounds so intense! If you need a break, or to take it easy for a few weeks, we understand and will be here when you come back, and cheer you on!

    You're fun ^_^ I think your origami hobby is a huge factor in your ability to create amigirumi patterns. Plants vs Zombies is a favourite of mine, so if you wanna make that Cattail or Chomper *hint hint*. Avatar The Last Airbender has some great animals in it. Turtle Ducks are cute AF. The blanket you're working on is gorgeous! LOVE the yarn you're using. And yeah, blankets are kind of boring. I've been working on a cabled blanket for nearly a year now. It just doesn't hold my attention, even with the cables.

    • @ComplicatedKnots
      @ComplicatedKnots  3 года назад +5

      I've tried to explain the link between origami and crochet to people before, so it's really cool that you get it! The turtleduck is actually a goal of mine, kind of like the owlbear. But I need to psych myself up for mash-up animals first for some reason 😂

    I started crocheting around Christmas 2020. Although I had been taught the basics of crochet before when I was a bit younger. This was the first time I successfully completed a piece. I was making an Among Us plush for my brother and I wanted to make the fried egg hat for it. So, I decided to crochet the hat. But it had been years since I had tried crochet and I had never been very successful. So, I started looking for a simple pattern to refresh my memory. The first successful plush I ever made was a baby octopus I followed a tutorial by All From Jade and I have happily lived in the Amigurumi rabbit hole ever since. As I am watching this video I am working on a green frog using your dart frog pattern. 😉 I look forward to future projects. 😊

    Your schedule is so full! Is there a reason why there has to be a pattern every Thursday? You shouldn't feel obligated to release a literal free pattern every week! It's free! And even just 1 every month or less is plenty considering how many other things you also do! I remember being shocked seeing how much you interacted with viewers, which is amazing! Could I possibly post a larger version of your fox pattern on Ravelry? I am linking your original fox pattern video as well as your steps to make amigurumi designs bigger (without bulky yarn). I've also adjusted it to my own stylistic choices, such as making the head top down (which was a pain because I foolishly decided to flip the pattern and double it at the same time) and adding detail, like a more pronounced paw. If you don't like me posting the pattern on Ravelry (for free of course), I won't, but I would like to share with you.
    I haven't tested the pattern yet, but I've written up the entire pattern without drastic variation to your original pattern, so adjustments shouldn't take too long (though I do have to move into college in a week, so it may take a bit for me to get to it).
