I'm a broken down Marine that was sent an angel. After I was injured in Iraq I went to my hometown to heal and a woman I had a crush on when I was younger became my wife. We just celebrated 15 years together. Now I've been diagnosed with lung cancer. I told her to move on without me but she refused to. In a time when people divorce for anything I found my soulmate. I signed a paper refusing treatment because I would rather have 1 great year with her than 5 years of constant hospital stays and treatments that don't work. I'm ready to meet my maker. When i was in Iraq i was a squad leader and i lost 5 great Marines. My best friend shielded me and was killed. I miss them all everyday and i hope i have lived a great life for them. Patrick, i miss you so much. Courtney is in College at Alabama and i just had my new daughter turn 2. You would've loved her. Semper Fi my brothers. I will see you very soon. I think of God; my Father in Heaven, and Jesus; His Son, when I hear this song. The lead singer IS actually a Christian and used to lead worship in a church before he was in Lifehouse. That's why so many of their songs can be thought of from a Christian point of view. But yes I think of God's love for me. His Son Jesus died and lived again so I could live. It is the greatest love. But this song does have a slight romantic vibe to it as well if you want to look at it that way. I often think of the love God has for me and how I know I'll share it with my future wife one day and we'll share the deepest most beautiful love for each other because we learned what true love is from God, the Father first.

How old are you and how old was he? It is a thing that is the least important thing happening in the story. My dad died when I was in a way that feels like a life of another person, I don't know how else to put it in words. That's a little bit more like a person who's credible to look at because I have been part of the world that people may mistake for the only one that has been in the history of ever. That's a lie because they're everywhere and sometimes you can be a part of one of them with no one else in the other aware. I didn't know how much I was just aware of the Latina women I was aware of. I found out I have been thinking we were these people of Irish and Irish not Cuban and now that I know other Latina women my age know I am different than the last time they sized up this ginger bitch and it's funny in a way that women who are 45 will be able to laugh at. The more my mom is going to be cold or vicious to me that makes me really appreciate this father I know I was lucky to have had and he was 53 when I was born and I had a world that was the one I knew until the month after I turned 40 years old and it was not like he was unexpected 93 is a long time but now I'm still trying to navigate the concept of a universe where he is in a heaven and he is so are all the Dad's I'm not bullshitting you we'll see them again but now we have to wait out the middle part of it with the awfully unbearably gigantic space that is left in the world when you are actually thinking but he's just a 5-9 guy, so not even fat not loud even. You know I have 4 brothers and we had the same person as our father but I don't know what kind of dad was nice to my brother David was going to pay for his bail after he robbed them and I don't know if I could bring it up that my dad knew me and I had to be married 18 years to realize what he was trying to say on my wedding day because he told me that I was always welcome to change my mind and doing it now so much less costly than later but not really in Dollars. It's not that he didn't love me but he loves me so much I can still feel him in my soul telling me to be patient with myself because God is not finished yet... But I cry now for how much I miss him yet also knowing what a lucky kid I was even in that I didn't know what my mother was capable of white he was alive to keep her in safe distance. Sometimes I see it now in a kid who is a baby himself yet a new father 17 year old kid but he's a dad the moment his child breathes the cry of it's life into this atmosphere and he is not ever going to be able to change it and that's why I don't just quit. I lost my house and I lost my dad and I have a brain tumor in the middle of a pandemic that killed four people I love and your dad. I can not play because my hand didn't work I just sing and get pissed off that death wouldn't come get me when I begged it and now I can't get away from it teasing me like I'm a sailor and it's just a piece of ass. I miss having someone on my side. It's not as long as we think it would be though. We'll be with our fathers who art in heaven soon. Be safe you.

Back when I listened to that song the first time I just turned 14 and my parents were freshly divorced. I had a rough time and couldn't sleep so I turned on the radio. It was like 1 or 2 in the morning, I don't remember. When I heard the song I thought it was just another love song (also because I'm from Germany and my English wasn't so good at that time). I remember when the singer starts to almost scream, it was like my heart melted and I just began to cry. I think I don't know how long, minutes, hours... I'm a broken down Marine that was sent an angel. After I was injured in Iraq I went to my hometown to heal and a woman I had a crush on when I was younger became my wife. We just celebrated 15 years together. Now I've been diagnosed with lung cancer. I told her to move on without me but she refused to. In a time when people divorce for anything I found my soulmate. I signed a paper refusing treatment because I would rather have 1 great year with her than 5 years of constant hospital stays and treatments that don't work. I'm ready to meet my maker. When i was in Iraq i was a squad leader and i lost 5 great Marines. My best friend shielded me and was killed. I miss them all everyday and i hope i have lived a great life for them. Patrick, i miss you so much. Courtney is in College at Alabama and i just had my new daughter turn 2. You would've loved her. Semper Fi my brothers. I will see you very soon. To my wife Shannon, thank you for giving me a great life. Sorry I'm not going to fight this war but I'm done. Don't ever forget me and what I stood for and fought for.

That's why so many of their songs can be thought of from a Christian point of view. But yes I think of God's love for me. His Son Jesus died and lived again so I could live. It is the greatest love. But this song does have a slight romantic vibe to it as well if you want to look at it that way. I often think of the love God has for me and how I know I'll share it with my future wife one day and we'll share the deepest most beautiful love for each other because we learned what true love is from God, the Father first.

My dad died when I was in a way that feels like a life of another person, I don't know how else to put it in words. That's a lie because they're everywhere and sometimes you can be a part of one of them with no one else in the other aware. I didn't know how much I was just aware of the Latina women I was aware of. I found out I have been thinking we were these people of Irish and Irish not Cuban and now that I know other Latina women my age know I am different than the last time they sized up this ginger bitch and it's funny in a way that women who are 45 will be able to laugh at. The more my mom is going to be cold or vicious to me that makes me really appreciate this father I know I was lucky to have had and he was 53 when I was born and I had a world that was the one I knew until the month after I turned 40 years old and it was not like he was unexpected 93 is a long time but now I'm still trying to navigate the concept of a universe where he is in a heaven and he is so are all the Dad's I'm not bullshitting you we'll see them again but now we have to wait out the middle part of it with the awfully unbearably gigantic space that is left in the world when you are actually thinking but he's just a 5-9 guy, so not even fat not loud even. How did he do that and all the other stuff happens to reflect his absence? Because he's the only one who is your dad. It's like when someone says kids your age... No one else ever gets to your age because it's already taken. Yours. You know I have 4 brothers and we had the same person as our father but I don't know what kind of dad was nice to my brother David was going to pay for his bail after he robbed them and I don't know if I could bring it up that my dad knew me and I had to be married 18 years to realize what he was trying to say on my wedding day because he told me that I was always welcome to change my mind and doing it now so much less costly than later but not really in Dollars. It's not that he didn't love me but he loves me so much I can still feel him in my soul telling me to be patient with myself because God is not finished yet... But I cry now for how much I miss him yet also knowing what a lucky kid I was even in that I didn't know what my mother was capable of white he was alive to keep her in safe distance. Sometimes I see it now in a kid who is a baby himself yet a new father 17 year old kid but he's a dad the moment his child breathes the cry of it's life into this atmosphere and he is not ever going to be able to change it and that's why I don't just quit. I lost my house and I lost my dad and I have a brain tumor in the middle of a pandemic that killed four people I love and your dad. I can not play because my hand didn't work I just sing and get pissed off that death wouldn't come get me when I begged it and now I can't get away from it teasing me like I'm a sailor and it's just a piece of ass. I miss having someone on my side. It's not as long as we think it would be though. We'll be with our fathers who art in heaven soon. Be safe you.

If my angel grandfather James was down from heaven right away I will spend time with him and sing this song to him.
To be in the presence of the lord and be able to hear his voice when you feel like everything is going downhill is one of the most beautiful things and even when we can't hear him it's amazing how he allows us to feel his presence even when we're on our knees crying he's always there listening and once again giving us the strength to face all we're going through by his side, he's everything, and I can sure you that with God by your side you'll be able to face everything for he fights our battles...

I remember when I was in high school, I had my first crush on this girl. I found out that she liked watching Smallville, so everytime it would air I felt like we were watching it together. That was 15 years ago.. Wherever you are, you were more than just a little crush.. 8 billion people in the world and you were the one.
i love Lifehouse ever since hanging by a moment came out. then hearing their songs on smallville only made me love them more. its been 20 years since this song came out and i still get that feeling when i first heard the song. the slow start then the powerful vocals always gets me

Back when I listened to that song the first time I just turned 14 and my parents were freshly divorced. I had a rough time and couldn't sleep so I turned on the radio. It was like 1 or 2 in the morning, I don't remember. When I heard the song I thought it was just another love song (also because I'm from Germany and my English wasn't so good at that time). I remember when the singer starts to almost scream, it was like my heart melted and I just began to cry. I think I don't know how long, minutes, hours... I just know it was the fist time I was able to cry and not "keep it together" because I saw my family crumble before my eyes and there seemed to be nothing I could do to stop it from happening.
I didn't know back then that the song's actually about Jesus, I just discovered it years after. But I know I felt his presence without even knowing him. Now I understand the lyrics and I know it speaks about the power, might and deep love of our savior. Now I also know him and he isn't just my savior but also my Lord. And I'm still thanking him for the first time I heard this song. He was and is my light in the darkness. And the darkness can not overcome the light, that is Jesus Christ. I love you Jesus, thank you for loving me first.

My son was diagnosed with autism level 4 and I couldn’t think straight. My hearted wanted to burst I didn’t know where to turn because no one would try to understand me as a mother I cried and cried I asked God why did he hurt me so badly then I realized God didn’t hurt me he healed me with my son. My son healed me & soon God will heal him he is walking testimony waiting to happen. My son is 4 years of age non verbal. I prayed n fasted over my boy and hoped and had faith my son is speaking here and there I’m hearing his voice his singing his abcs his familiar with his numbers and colors I couldn’t be more prouder of my boy & God because If it wasn’t For God idk what would’ve happened. Happy to know God understood my pain and heard a mother’s cry.
