I remember seeing intriguing screenshots in magazines at the time, but never got to play the game - nice to see what it was all about, finally! Looks like it was probably a very frustrating game to actually play - one of those "What the heck does this game want me to do here?" types of games - but the art-style and imagination are great. It's sometimes a shame with longplay videos that they're such perfect playthroughs, because what you often don't get to see are the animations for all the ways the player can screw things up. That's especially important in a game like this, so *thank you* for including the "outtakes" at the end! :)
Early 90s Saturday morning kid's TV shows (or early British gaming shows) had bits where people would phone in and try to direct someone playing a videogame, and given that my introduction to this was seeing it played by young people shouting "LEFT, NO LEFT, LEFT" I didn't get to see much of it either
Blimey, I remember that... Didn't they try to update the format by, instead of shouting out verbal instructions over the phone, having viewers control the games with button-presses on their touch-tone phones, back when that was new tech? I don't recall it working too well! Funny though :)
This was one of the myriad of games that I downloaded from the BBSes back in the 80s. I actually tried playing this one. I think I got to the second or third screen. I had no idea what was going on. But my memory seems to say that my Atari 520 ST was a bit slower than this version.
Lol I was fully legit kn my atari was only once I moved to my amiga and setup my own bbs did I ha e a vast catalogue. I think I would have been a bit annoyed if I had spent my pocket money on this lol even after watching this full video I don't have a clue what's going on
I think that this is just the longplay that DeathKnight did on the Commodore Amiga, except for at the beginning there is actual Atari ST music and sound effects.
This was clearly written for ATARI ST and then PORTED to the AMIGA.. You can tell.. it has that horrible.. COPIED title music.. but with some random instruments thrown in ... This game was SOOOO far ahead of its time.. its actually scary... The animations... the concept.. design.. everything!!! I dont think ive come across a game EVER from then to now.. that evokes so many memories of my childhood.. REMEMBER THIS ON KIDS TV???? This game took 17 minutes to complete... There isnt a person alive who would PAY 25 quid.. (full price back then) for a game with 17 minutes content.. BUT!!! Thats the thing... it took 17 minutes if u were an expert... it took a fucking AGE to get good enuff to complete it AT ALL.. let alone in 17 minutes!! So u could argue.. games back then had WEEKS and MONTHS of content.. because today when something is 40 hours.. u get through it in 40 hours.. because its so easy..!! Edit: I just noticed that , that demon jester is playing its OWN TEETH in accordance with the piano keys... delightfully mind mending!! :) oh wait.. that was ZAK!! ;P
Ive been searching for this game for years... I saw game play of it online years ago when I was much younger but the past few year I wondered what it was but finally I found it
I only watched the first 5 minutes but this looks and sounds exactly like the Atari ST version. I am playing it now, watching this to see what to do. I hooked it up to give my son a laugh.
Can you look at a video called "Atari ST Weird Dreams music"? The music rendition sounds vastly different from what we hear in this video at about ~@5:00, which sounds way cooler here. I wonder if there was ever a proper track to listen to and buy.

Strange in the best possible way. The music was awesome on the ST. Anyone remember this on Motormouth?

I seem to recall this being part of a phone in "game show" on some rubbish Saturday morning kids' show on ITV way back in the mid 80's? TISWAS?

Qui est là après avoir vu la vidéo du joueur du grenier ? 😅😅
15:15 lol ! pas mal ce jeu je ne connaissais pas .
This isn't the Atari ST version.
Oh well this game actually shows not atari st version but more likely amiga one. Atari st one would sound like a pc speaker beeps

If it were amiga, it would look like absolute dog sht. It looks good (for the 80's) so has to be ST.
better than the amiga version
Only the French...
Soundtrack sounds like an abomination of Bach.

Sorry, I don't speak French. Google translate had trouble making sense of your comment, too.
Username no problème thanks you
