I've had a brain injury I was hit from behind and the force was so strong that it killed me for 20 minutes and it broke my nose. The doctors told me that it was extremely rare but it does happen. It took me years to recover I would have to keep notes just to remember where I was going and what day it was. I'm fine now by the grace of god. Please be considerate of others pain even if you cant see their injuries.

TBI is no joke. It sneaks up on you. First a headache hear and there...then seizures, and many other life threatening symptoms.
Concussion is a silent killer. In past wars people were found without a scratch, dead from concussion.

I read Stephen Ambrose's D Day book and it talks about those Germans in their concrete bunkers that got absolutely pounded by artillery before the landings, they were dazed and all but unconscious and totally unable to fight because of the concussion blasts.
I watched some footage about ww1 from "The British Pathe", the constant shelling gave a mental illness to soldiers, I forgot the name. That was horrific

Amen brother! The scars of war are permanently imprinted on us that have lived it! I remember I deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq fresh out of basic in 2005. I was a Gung ho boot with a death wish! Volunteering for every mission that left the wire. I don't regret my decision because I took part in the historic "Battle of Ramadi" right after "Phantom Fury" had pushed Al-Zarqawi and his rebels out of Faluja and into Ramadi where we were running route clearance missions. It was intense, and unforgettable! Long story short only advice I can give is don't rush to be "heroes" and be careful what you wish for when it comes to combat situations!!

I've been in close proximity/ blown up by 16 IEDs over two tours. This was before we knew anything about TBI, when we would get hit, we were instructed to take some ranger candy drink water and press on. These men and women are in for a roller coaster of ride later in their lives.

So you put two and two together you will realize how they covered this up, given the fact of how Iran exposed the US.

The sad part is immediately mobilising the troops into action after traumatic brain injury - made it much worse. They needed to immediately decommission them - and replace them until they were properly rehabbed.

I have brain injury from listening to 5 inch gun shelling on the Horne CG-3O guilded cruiser , I had only radio and head set protecting my ear while on Battle mode , General Quarters , I've heard at least 300 rounds and from the first one my ears were blown out , I get paid for my injurys so don't feel bad 👍

Base was hit again today but nowhere near as bad as that attack.
I spent 54 mo stationed there during the height of the Iraq war running convoys . I suffered a severe TBI and post concussion syndrome later in 2014 at Bagram Afghanistan. I've never been the same since and was declared 100 percent disabled. I can't even drive a car , because I have seizures. I was exposed to 4 blasts in total in the more than 7 years of combat . It's not easy

Logan I fully understand your opinion. I do recognize that these countries can fend for themselves. I feel like if Saudi Arabia is attacked by Iran, it shall be the Saudi Army to fight. But in order to influence global politics, you must influence middle eastern politics. You see Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America all rely to a certain extent on oil and natural gas from the Middle East. And in order to influence the geopolitical situation, you must influence middle eastern politics.

Our military is there to combat terrorism. Many will say that it is because of oil, but that is entirely untrue. The terror groups who roam Iraq rape women and turn children into soldiers. ISIS beheads individuals who do not agree with their agenda. The United States has since stepped in and begun to work with Kurdish and coalition forces to remove these terrible groups from Iraq.
