After practicing yoga casually for years (at gyms or similar), THIS workout has finally brought the concepts of yoga together in a way I can FEEL in my body! Rooting, feeling energy up the front of the body, flowing down the back of the body. It has come together and will continue to grow and flow! May the force be with you all! Thank you Adrinne for this grounding, uplifting session!! Hearts

Adriene- I'm celebrating today: ONE YEAR practicing yoga with you!! It occurs to me that in adulthood, there's not that many habits that 'stick' for a year. And so last November 1 (2019 how I love you), I found you on RUclips. And haven't missed very many days all year, because I look forward to being on the mat. And I feel good. For a few years prior I kept thinking we needed a better mattress - my body hurt and was so stiff each morning when I woke up. But after just a few months of consistent yoga workouts, suddenly the mattress was no longer a problem. I stopped aching. And then a few more months I suddenly thought, "wait. This plank is not that difficult."
Today's practice was the perfect way to commemorate my one year. I honestly felt tall during the first mountain pose (I'm 5' 2" and felt I'd say 5' 8"!) :) And I feel strong. And centered. And proud of myself.
Plus, I've made a new friend: you.
    Thank you.

This is the truth all new agers should know. That they believe in an old satan's Lie.
      Genesis 3:4-5
You will NOT CERTAINLY DIE," the serpent said to the woman.
For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like GOD, knowing good and evil."
      2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
      2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age (satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
      John 14:6
The lord Jesus Christ answered "I am the WAY, THE TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the FATHER except through me".

In my opinion that is the foundation of yoga, mindfully know where you are at, and calmly trusting that everything is as it should be so don't fuss too much and just enjoy the ride.

No instructions, just move. I closed my eyes and by the second song I really let it happen. I need another one. We all cried and laughed, bumped each other, bumped walls. It was light and dark. So so good.

ROOT DAY 1 - I used to pick Adriene's videos based on my energy levels, but this year, I've been following the monthly calendars day-by-say. Sometimes, I'm really tired and have to skip half of the postures or do them with modifications. But I much prefer doing it this way. There is always a beautiful sequence to the monthly programmes, and I often discover something new in the postures when I take it slowly. Most of all, it's teaching me to show up for myself whatever kind of day I'm having, and not put too much pressure on myself with my practice. Hope that's helpful to someone as we start a new month! 😊

Embody day 6! I've been dipping in and out of yoga since the pandemic began but this year I made a commitment to myself to practice yoga every day for a year. I started with the Move challenge and look forward to my practice every day! This practice has probably been one of my favourites this year. I finally found that 'root to rise' feeling throughout my entire body, and even managed tree pose with my arms lifted and eyes closed (for 2 seconds!). I've even started to notice how my body feels even when I'm not practicing yoga. I have no lower back pain anymore; my posture has improved so much; I no longer have an issue with my right rotator cuff; all of this I believe is from practicing daily. So thank you Adriene. Not only do I find what feels good on the mat, but my body and mind feel good every day! xx

I also started a daily practice with Move this year. The difference between occasional, only-if-I-feel-like-it yoga and committed, even-when-I'm-busy yoga has been like night and day. I'm really expressing myself into the poses in ways I never did when I was going to yoga classes a couple times a week as "something to do."
So here's a BIG thank you to you and everyone else practicing with me this year! Knowing there are other people sharing this journey with me is a huge boost to my motivation. I can say with absolutely no exaggeration, I couldn't have done it without you!

I had heart surgery at age 41, as an active healthy fit woman, it was devastating to learn I had a rare artery disorder, called spontaneous coronary artery dissection and the main cause of the arteries to the heart to shut down was stress. I came home from the hospital depressed realizing that my life had come to an abrupt halt and terrified that it would happen again. I decided to try meditation to relax and stumbled on Adriene's yoga channel. I started with yoga for depression and anxiety when it was safe to exercise again and felt such relief and comfort from Adriene . I then tried her center yoga journey and felt myself get stronger. This morning, I was feeling pretty low until I spent this 30 minutes with Adriene. I am so grateful for her. Like a caring friend, she is there for you.

Thank you, Adriene. I wanted to share with you what this journey is helping me to feel in my body. Over about a year I've been following YWA daily practice. I first noticed the change of feeling more hydrated for lack of better description. (Opposed to dry and splintered log). Now I notice that I'm feeling very dense and malleable. (Slightly Hardened playdough). A thought passed today wondering if the way I feel will continue to change. What if I could feel like flowing water when I I practice, or even when I'm not practicing? Wow. Who knows. I'm greatful for where I'm at today because it feels so good and strong. Words dont do justice the feeling. Blessings to you. Love you. ❤

Yesterday, I decided to come back to the mat and incorporate some egoscue exercises into my day to fully participate and invest in my feeling better. This was my first practice in awhile and to have knocking on Heaven’s door as apart of it was spectacular. Are you reluctant to participate in your own health and healing? My arm felt a little better today, so I jumped back onto the schedule after switching out yesterday for a lighter practice. I am glad I did because it is always fun to return to this sequence. Not only that, it really shows one how much progress has been made. I still felt some slight pulling in my left chest. And I needed to go easy when lifting and pulling the thumbs back while goalpost arms were raised over ahead. However, when we did the modified locust, I once again could lift my legs. That was not happening when I first started practicing here. And my legs are stronger, bearing more weight without collapse, and on most days no barking hamstrings or hip.

During Lockdown the daily practice saved me, after eveything started gearing up again, I didn't keep up as regularly, and eventually stopped. It happens.
    Today I'm re-committing!
The amazing thing that happened is, that I fell back into that feeling I had during lockdown, Adrienes voice and the familiar practice- is it body memory? Conditioning? Anyway, it was amazing to be back, even though physically I'm nowhere near where I was then. That's okay, too.

I find myself getting constantly surprised by the wonders of yoga, especially the at-home yoga practice. I swear by it, am a complete enthusiast, tell everyone about how sweet and yummy your videos are, Adriene, and yet, if I happen to skip a day or two, when I return to the mat, I'm yet again blow away by the magic of it. It hits me with a new found intensity and grace. And it feels like a new beginning. As if my journey with yoga had only just begun, once again. Because it does, doesn't it? Each new day brings an opportunity to renew our relationship to the mat, to ourselves, to those around us. A set of new eyes to look at things. New lungs to breathe in the air, oh so lovingly. You have helped me through grad school, through a doctorate program, through countless deaths, and through happinesses such as my wedding and the arrival of me dear sweet kitten (no longer) Ms Sonja Rose. You will be there for me when my old boy (cat) dies… he is starting to have significant health declines… you will be there for me as I continue to grow and change as a professional, as a spouse, as a (cat) mom, as a human.

I've been doing yoga for a few years and I've done this particular video so many times but this is the first time I've ever cried doing yoga. When we did knocking on heaven's door it brought up a memory of when my dad used to do that to stretch after he worked out and my brother and sister would call him "swingy man" and it made me smile and miss those times and then I started to wonder where it all went wrong and why we're not happy anymore and I thought about my brother dying and how everything started to fall apart after that and it's never been the same. As I started thinking all these things my speed got faster and faster and then when Adriene said to slow it down and come to mountain pose, everything got so still and I just cried and it was so weird but really therapeutic. I've always heard people say they have emotional experiences during yoga and I never understood it because I never felt it till now. Thank you for allowing me to have that experience, Adriene.

June 3rd. This starting days of the month are being really great and I have specially enjoyed this practice. I love the kind of sessions in which I explore my own body even more than I'd normally do. One other thing I really liked about today's practice was those Spanish random expresions that make me laugh as a native Spanish speaker. Thanks for guiding my yoga journey, see ya tomorrow, Adriene.

Lol, you crossed my mind towards the end and then Adriene had us consider all the other lovely people practicing at the same time. So funny that when I scrolled down to comment, you were actually the first one, commenting less than a minute beforehand! Have a great day!

Does anyone else have the problem where your legs are always getting pins and needles/going numb in any of the lunges/warrior/leg based moves?
Practicing from my tiny little dorm room in NYC today!! Wow, this practice and November guide couldn't have come at a better time than the day after Halloween - the day of sugar feasts! Feeling extra ready to rock since it's officially my birthday month and I'll be turning 21 at last. Though I must say, one of the biggest things yoga has done for me is replace the desire for alcohol! At least outside of the normal 21-year-old amount...in other words, just feeling very good to be alive and have a fiercely reborn breath!
Lastly before I go as this is more for my own journaling sake than anything else; practicing with you and the YWA community has made me feel so much more openminded in the sense that I am who I am and I love it! I consistently feel free to express myself and be willing to share information with people I trust, or a loving and supportive community such as this one! Just to say that perhaps a year ago the last thing I would ever do is post a comment under a youtube video (though it seems trivial) for a variety of different reasons, and now here I am posting a two paragraph explanation of...who even knows what, that I'm sure no one will read but that will warm my heart to share. So thank you, Adriene!! You and Benji have brought me fully into my life that I had been letting pass me by.

Hey! Just don't go as deep into the standing posses, take it a little easier and see if that helps! Yoga rocks!! Happy Birthday!

Thank you for all your videos Adrienne! Today I was feeling not so strong or rooted in my body and this brought me back to stability and gratitude. I suffered a stroke 8 months ago and wasn't able to stand on my right foot for more than 8 seconds at a time. Now I can go through these entire videos (mostly) balanced and feeling strong. 🧡❤
