i haven't even watched yet, i just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this. i cannot, for the life of me, read crochet patterns - i NEED a video. i mean, i can read it, i understand the terms, i just cannot execute from a written pattern. so when i found this written pattern a few minutes ago, you have no idea how insanely happy i was to find that you've made a video. i'm so excited to try these, thank you again for doing this!
Aw this is so cute. I make granny square everything, I think I want to make one of these to put on the tree so that someday when I’m gone my kids will see it and smile. ❤️
Hey Mikey 🎵I'm so glad we had this time together, just to have a laugh and crochet a sweater🎶 These sweaters are so cute. I must make a few for my tree this year. Thanks so much for the tutorial and for the laughs!
You're hilarious!🤣 I know about shoulder pads and Carol Burnett.😉 Dang, we're getting old!😢 I've NEVER made a granny square anything!! Shocking, I know....right!?!😱 This will be my first and I'm pretty gosh darn excited!!😊 Thanks for this one, Mickey!!😉👍❤️
There is a tri colour yarn out in xmas colours (red, green and white) you could use for this. And many yarns with sparkle in them. Lots of possibilities for this. Oh I was gonna ask why you went on the wrong side, your explanation later in the video made sense. Edited to add you could use pipe cleaner sticks in sparkle to hang the sweaters on the tree.
@ dolton Murray I saw quite a bit of that red, green and white yarn at Jo-Anns when I was there this week. You're right, if you really want a red, green, white theme that yarn would be great
Omg so cute!! I love Carol Burnet too, What an amazing performer!! I’m going to make these to gift to my grandkids teachers. I’ll need to make 12!!! Thanks for sharing!! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!! 💚😊💚😊
Great tips. I use the invisible join rather than slip stitching when finishing a row all the time. I also learned on a recent CAL that I have just started that using a smaller hook size to slip stitch into the first stitch of a row gives you a nice neat connection stitch. Not sure if it is okay to say where I learnt these tips from here so I will leave that info out unless Mikey says it is okay.
Or right over left, and then left over right. As long as you do second 'over' opposite to first one. And also called the Reef Knot. I remember having to learn this in Brownies - MANY years ago! But once learned... 😉😄😄
Thank you Mikey! Much ❤️ and appreciation for all you do! I hope to see more ornament patterns as I like to decorate my tree all year round and each year for Christmas is a different theme so more ideas for ornaments for all the holidays would be crochetastic! ❤️😁. Hook on friends! ❤️ 😂🙌🙌🧶 🧶 🧶 🧶
Beyond just this sweet little pattern, thank you SO MUCH for explaining the standing DC! - as a novice crocheter, I always wondered why I couldn't just use a dc to start a row of dc, instead of a turning chain. That explanation made so much sense to me, thank you. Query: why don't we always use standing dc? Or standing whatever stitch?
Question Mikey. Why would the pattern call for the body of the sweater to have rows of stitches with the back side showing? I think I would want all my rounds showing the right sides out. The ornament is adorable for sure but I think I would try showing the right sides out on the body for mine. Thank you for the tips in your creation. 👍🧶

Super cute, love your mods. I simplified further by using one color, glittery to make them Christmassy. ❤❤
