    Impressive work over one of my favorite and beloved fusion pieces from Yellow Jackets with such a epic Robben Ford solo for guitar history!! however I think your own guitar solo here in this rendition is AMAZING!! I am glad you make that way, because the nature behind of the great jazz musicians is to send a message with music for transmitting it and still transforming in new concepts and energies ! Thanks for sharing. Bravo!

    Ciao Nico,
    bravo! Fra le versioni che ho sentito di questo pezzo, la tua è quella che mi piace di più. Soprattutto mi piace l'assolo che hai fatto, di gran gusto e competenza, si vede che hai padronanza sull'armonia e una ottima tecnica. Anch'io suono questo pezzo dal 1982 almeno. Con gran phatos sul tema e replicando l'assolo di Robben per quanto a suo tempo riuscii a capirci solo grazie alle mie orecchie! Risentendolo oggi, dopo tanti anni, mi accorgo delle diversità e dell'impostanzione del solo. Tra queste cose, ho notato che anche tu, nel tema, usi sempre le stesse note per la replica dell'attacco iniziale del tema. In realtà, se ci fai bene caso, Robben usa le stesse note solo per l'inizio, ma quando fa lo stesso attacco per gli stacchi (prima del solo), la prima nota cambia, credo in armonia di semidiminuita. Bellissimo il video, il montaggio e l'aria che si respira in sala. Bravi!

      +Nicola Severino Grazie Nicola per i commenti molto generosi. Hai ragione sulla prima nota di ogni ripresa del tema. Ho avuto quella sensazione proprio mentre registravamo, ma tra il manovrare le telecamere, controllare i livelli di tutti gli strumenti e manovrare Logic, il 'pilota automatico' ha fatto il resto! non abbiamo nemmeno fatto prove, solo 3 o 4 takes un pomeriggio per la sezione ritmica (assolo e fiati - overdubbed) quindi tutto sommato e' andata fin troppo bene!

      Altro che bene... eccezionale non bene! Bravissimi tutti i musicisti...MI rimane la curiosità di sapere il motivo dello sdoppiamento della registrazione sul solo e il cambio di chitarra che mi sembra una Ibanez as80AV, come la mia o una Gibson 335. Ciao e buon lavoro!

    • @NicoSabatiniGuitar
      @NicoSabatiniGuitar  9 лет назад

      il motivo era proprio che volevo fare il solo con calma e senza lo stress di gestire la band e la strumentazione. Quindi nella prima 'take' che abbiamo fatto dal vivo ho suonato la chitarra ritmica. La chitarra del solo e' la mia 335. Ho evitato la tele soprattutto per rendere ovvio il fatto che fosse una sovraicinsione.

      Ciao Nico, GRANDE SOLO... Mi consigli un overdrive per ottenere un suono che si avvicini al tuo? Io ho una Ibanez GB10, Ampli Laney, Route66 (comp/overdrive) e i-Spira OSD (overdrive artigianale imitazione dumbler). C'e' qualcosa di meglio per una semiacustica? Ciao

    Awesome and great solo! Do you have the full arrangement of this tune? Would be fun to have go myself. I have transcribed the melody but I can't get my head around the chords...

    Is that the Johnny Copland that does that killer version of Incognito's "Talkin' Loud"?

    This is terrific in every respect. Would any of the Logic stems be available for potential purchase as a backing track for private use? David

    Could i possibly buy the track without lead guitar from you? It would be really nice to have this backingtrack. Good job!

  • @sargentppeper
    @sargentppeper 8 лет назад

    Very good.. a bit too many notes during guitar solo. Also at 1:11 the first 6 notes should be F#, Bb, G#, C , Bb, D# not the regular F, Bb, G, C, Bb, D that everyone else on youtube seems to play at this part of the song. :)

    Nico well done. I dig your work. Same question as previously asked : Would there be a way to obtain the backing track to this tune ? All the best .

    Who mixed that?? You can't hear the piano apart from the solo that has never been the forte of this tune anyway

    Guitar solo is quite nice. The Robin Ford solo is also impressive, maybe flows a little better? But yeah, this bloke is good! 👍

      Well, it's all about improvisation. I gotta say, though, the first 4 bars are excellent!

    • @billn8557
      @billn8557 3 года назад

      Yeh the Ford solo kinda makes the song! And agreed,is a MUST! That first bent G Bb C bent G that Robben does on the solo gives me chills beyond compare! What comes after is just shear beauty in improvisation.Easily one of the best jazz/pop guitar solos for me.Up there with the Mulberry Street solo on Carltons album.tasty.tasty,tasy! I bought the album in 1983 i think.

      ... because it's just a bunch of friends jamming, not a commercial release. No money in this, just a bit of fun
