In November 2019, we hiked the upper trailhead on The Nature Conservancy Trail. It is 2 miles round trip with 200 feet of elevation gain. The trail is easy to follow and the hike will take you through a Sitka Spruce and Western Hemlock Forest.
The Nature Conservancy Trail in the Cascade Head Preserve is located on the Oregon Coast close to Lincoln City. It is 3 miles north of Lincoln City on Hwy 101 and then another 3 miles on North Three rocks road to the Cascade Head Preserve. There are no fees to hike this trail.

Which trail would you recommend a first time Oregon visitor, Cascade Head or God's Thumb, if they only have time for one of them?
Hi Matt. We haven't hiked God's Thumb so we couldn't be able to recommend one trail over the other. It looks like the Cascade Head trail is temporarily closed. Let us know how your hike went!
