I just did this following your tutorial, very straight forward and easy to do. Because of the interference I opted to only replace the right thumbstick with a hall effect since it will be the one responsible for aiming an precision when it comes to first person shooters. So far no issues
Yeah that would be cool, I’m not counting on it happening, but would be nice. I’ll continue to see if I can make a more elegant solution haha. This one is so close to stopping it, perhaps a different strength magnet may help

Asus did an awesome job with the ally, it’s very easy to work on your own device, lots of modular parts hold by screws, not glued or soldered together, superb job by Asus in my opinion, more console, laptop ans hardware manufacturers in general should take notes
Maybe I got lucky on mine. I installed the hall effect sticks with extra tension and after restoring calibration to factory defaults they work FLAWLESSLY. Zero dead zone on both sticks. No drifting. No left trigger interference. It's actually worse after calibration lol somehow it's absolutely perfect with the factory defaults.
I purchased 1 pair of standard and 1 pair of tigher from this seller. And all of them drift. I test them on right side so no interference. And I dont think i did anything worng .now contacting the seller. Will See what happens next.
I'm impressed. I don't think I'll be doing the mod, as if and when I do get stick drift, they are very easy and affordable to replace the original ones. But, this is pretty awesome. You almost have it. It would be nice if the triggers were not hall effect.
Had my right joystick stop working on my Ally, and after a few hours of testing and research, turned out to be a hardware issue. Didn't want to wait for RMA, so hopefully I can upgrade the sticks with this guide. If the right side has issues as well, I may resort to shielding and only upgrading the right stick, while just having an extra hall-effect sensor. Eventually want to swap the sticks out with heavy, metal ones. Play a lot of racing games, and (opposite to FPS games) the extra sensitivity of heavy sticks on the light strength sensors should hopefully work out great.

Thank you for this tutorial, I’ve actually found something interesting when it came to calibrating the left thumb stick. Should you hold the left trigger as you go through the calibration test it negates the left stick input and is not affected at all when pressing the trigger.
It really did work, though it is a little quirky but I’m able to play Fortnite and call of duty without any interference. The quirky part is that there is interference detected when you press the left trigger on armory crate but on the games I tested, I have complete and free motion with no problem.

I followed you to the t but when I go onto gamepad tester you can see in the joystick it does not want to do a full circular movement but rather a rhombus shape any idea or is it that I just got a bad set of joysticks as both are doing it. Even on the calibration I have to push the stick very hard to the right to get it into the zones and after when you do the circles 3 times I cant even do one as its does half a circle fine then the other half its trying to rhombus again and this is on the joystick below the abxy buttons and not the d pad stick
It’s been a very interesting experience with the Hall effect on the ally. There seems to be a mixed experience depending on your system. I had to exchange my ally for a new one, and the new one has a similar issue as you describe where the joystick just won’t do the full circle. Some have had them work without adding anything to the joysticks as well.
It helps yes, but what I’ve since discovered for the Hall effect sticks is that each rog ally seems to respond differently. My third ally (sd slot issues) seems to not take to them at all, I’m not sure if there is a fix at this point that would work for all Ally devices.

Not necessarily. It seems that the device itself has a factor in whether it will work. My first 2 devices worked well, however my third one doesn’t work even with all the attempts I made to disrupt the interference.

@okestgamer only problem now, is that the link you provided to buy the joysticks? You won't sell it to me because i can't give them a one x player S/N lol. It looks like to prevent people from using it on the Ally...
They ask for a SN for determining which stick to send, just let them know it’s the onexplayer 2 stick and you need the Hall effect one.
Do we need to tape the joysticks?
Not necessarily. It seems that the device itself has a factor in whether it will work. My first 2 devices worked well, however my third one doesn’t work even with all the attempts I made to disrupt the interference.
@@okestgamer okay thank you. I think I’ll just do the right one then.
Yeah, and hopefully it works out. Just know it’s not consistent between devices
@@okestgamerokay thank you.
Quais sao os melhores mods para o hardware do rog ally? (Alem desse obvio)
I’m the discord server there are some working on a larger battery that have it working. Another user has upgraded his RAM to 32gb
Could ally joystick replace the aokzoe joystick? Is it compatible?
Yes they both work on each other
@@okestgamer but i don't know the seller who sell rog ally joystick 😅
So one question, do you mean the plastic stick itself or the module?
Have you got the onexp2 pro yet ok testgamer?
I have not, I wish I could have purchased one, but I had a number of equipment purchases for the channel that didn’t leave room for me to purchase the next one.
@okestgamer I had purchased one . If your interested I can send you the link where I bought my onexplayer pro 2
@@JavierEspinoza1333 was it from goGamery?
I wonder how powerful this would of been if it was sold WITHOUT the embedded controler.
I mean thats a LOT of real estate.
The buttons and everything. 🤔
Maybe not as much more power, but more battery space for the extra real estate
Hmm, I just tried to order the sticks and support emailed me asking for the S/N to confirm what model to send. Any advice?
I would just tell them it’s for the onexplayer 2 with Hall effect sticks. I think they just want to confirm which model of stick they need to send
How about a benchmark? Efficient Aggressive at Guaranteed or your money back
It might be because I’m tired this morning, but sorry I don’t understand what you mean haha.
I’m totally new to this world of Mods and a brand new owner of an Ally, my questions are what is the benefit of changed the joysticks ?
My other question is will the new joysticks have a little more resistance? I don’t know what it is about the stock joysticks but they almost feel like they are too easy to move compared to my Xbox controller, does that make sense? Haha 😅
Hall effect are magnetic based, so they don’t get the “drift” issues like on ps4/Xbox and especially joycons. As far as the feel of the sticks, they are the same
@@okestgamer the same as xbox or same as asus rog old sticks?
Not solded joystick is 100/100 for easy replace
Yes it's nice to be able to replace easily
Ummm is your hand ok?
Yeah, it was from my tenants cat unfortunately
What about using the tape to isolate the trigger instead? Or both?
I tried it on both together. Same result
now we just need 500grams mod
Not sure what they could cut off to lower 100g
I’m trying to purchase them but they want my device model number or serial number
Dear Customer,
Hope my email finds you well.
Please tell us your device model or serial number of the device, so we can ship you the compatible joysticks.
Looking forward to your reply.
You can just let them know it’s the sticks for a onexplayer 2 from Indiegogo the Hall effect ones
Thanks , was able to find one of the comments where you told someone to reply The sticks are for the onexplayer 2 with Hall effect , and that worked and they’re shipped , hopefully others will find their answer here now , I add it in to the description so others won’t panic
Let me know if anyone is interested in this set of hall effect joysticks. I bought a set and changed my mind about replacing. It’ll be faster than ordering it from China.
Where are you shipping them from?
@@okestgamer I guess I should of mentioned that 😂 Columbus, OH
@@pat.sambas how much are you selling them for? I know some ask about buying them
@@okestgamer $30 + postage
@@pat.sambashey, still available? I’m ready to buy
Rog ally right joystick won’t turn left or right but does everything else
It’s always something and now I see I should’ve gotten a deck cause damn can we not have a problem every other week
It sounds like a defective stick, if it’s like that from the factory I would suggest seeing if you can exchange it
@@okestgameroh shit I didn’t know you responded
Thanks
Gonna try your video first
@@okestgamerand I couldn’t afford the warranty 😂😂😂
I try to reply to most comments, I was delayed in replying due to a trip I was on. Hopefully a new stick (try the AliExpress one) fixes it
I think there should be a 1 year warranty. Maybe it depends on the country
