What is Happy Dawn?
Happy Dawn is a small Game Boy Advance game. Yes, as you just read, in 2024, a GBA game, haha, where a hilarious story unfolds about a day in the life of Carlitos, a boy who wakes up on a new happy day to go to school.
This game was created for the GBAJam 2024.
How can I play it?
Since it’s only for GBA, you should download it and emulate it, although I hope to make a PC port in the future. I recommend that you use mGBA.
What does the DEMO include?
The demo narrates the beginning of the story. Due to time constraints, some NPCs, interactions, and other important plot events had to be cut.
What can I expect for the future?
Mainly graphical improvements; I’m terrible at making art, especially with the console’s limitations. I also plan to add more facial expressions, more animations, more NPCs, and many other things that I can’t think of right now.
More scenarios; many scenarios were removed for the demo, but there will be a few more with fun situations.
Lastly, something that isn’t immediately visible is a refactoring of the code, allowing it to be more scalable in the future.
