Some people just cant handle it and end up doing horrible things to themselves or even others.(this is why some people are in mental hospitals, some as criminals, even some who are corrupt. Those who do make it come back are either broken, confused, afraid of themselves or others, angry at the world or if they were strong enough then they became better then they ever were before.

I actually started crying because this holds so much emotion. You see the weak sides of Ezra and Jellal ,Something that is rare for these characters to show to anyone else. Even after everything they have been through: best friend that we’re together to survive, to enemies, to a place of confusion. And even after all that they can still love and pull each other to the light, even though they have gone threw so much darkness. It’s just incredible.
The thing is...Jerza is the only ship that shows how painful and true love can be. Nalu's relationship is cute to ship, but they haven't gone through what Jellal and Erza have gone through, all the pain, torture, humiliation. They drag each other out of the dark, protecr each other and truly form a bond that makes us root for them. Still, Gruvia, Nalu, and Gale are still cute. It's just that their emotional bonds and connections aren't as strong as Jerza.
