I find myself getting as outraged at the careless and incompetent way in which they tried to murder him as the fact that they tried to murder him and an innocent bystanders.
That was what makes this so terribly scandalous, and provoked such strong condemnation, I feel.
That it was so reckless, risked so much 'splash-out.' the crime itself, the disrespect of foreign nations, etc., was bad enough. But it wasn't just a murder (attempted,) but an indiscriminately applied attack, that went outside the boundaries of spies doing spy stuff to each other- carelessly spraying a crowd with machine gun fire, rather than an assassination of a target with one precision bullet.
That, I feel, is what took this from being a scandal to be mopped up by diplomatic liaison, creating ruptions mainly at that level alone, then eventually passed over without much legacy, to being an outrage generating distress and concerned interest and protest in a much more substantial way among a much wider, and International, part of the community.

I'm not Russian and mine is because they called Novichok one of the deadliest substances on Earth. Just factually untrue. Look at all the people who survived. Navalny survived. One of Navalny's aides survived it TWICE. Its very unpleasant stuff but probably meant to send a message rather than kill. They poisoned Alexander Litvinenko with polonium. Now THAT is deadly. He could have drank that tea at the hospital and still stood no chance. That's what it looks like when the Russians want you gone. These symptoms from Novichok are similar to eating Taco Bell.

I remember seeing this years ago and it got me interested, seeing it on the news as well. Sort of stuck with me and managed to find a copy of it before it disappeared.

The fact that a British citizen died because of pure lack of care, tossing a bottle full of poison onto the street, is disgusting. Four people poisoned and one dead. Ridiculous.

The BBC drama THE SALISBURY POISONINGS made one think Dawn Sturgess' partner carelessly took the perfume bottle from the trash, when he actually got it from a charity shop bin.

When it comes to russian so-called secret services and their reckless blackmail and mafia-like emblezzment and techniques, my idea is - you always have to fight fire with fire, and outsmart them at their own game. Unfortunatelly, this domain of military intelligence has no rules, nor boundaries.

What's gained in highlighting (to the exclusion of anything else, too,) the lapse of correct spelling!? What he's saying is accessible to understanding, he's probably not unaware of the error, and no one is thought clever for being able to proffer the correction. And instead there's just no development of the conversation, no discussion of ideas, or his points, nothing going towards debating the thoughts he advances. Just what comes across as stullifying chortles of "haaa you can't spell, look, I know better!"
It's just a way to detract from any potential contributions going towards producing an intelligent forum of discourse, if not a way to flat out kill one off - not just his but your potential contributions. All traffic stops in favour of rubber necking a crash. Which can be fun or interesting; IF the crash is significant enough. Here, it just isn't. Better to just keep driving, to pass by without comment. Surely?! Otherwise such input is just negative, and no worthy or useful destination is potentially possible, I feel!

I’ve watched this documentary multiple times, along with the Alexander Litvinenko one, it was only a matter of time before they successfully got Alexei Navalny. I’m expecting more to come out due to recent events.

In a way, and I'm only speculating, it's a silver lining of immeasurable proportion, that this happened so near to the Porton Down lab. As maybe that led to the suspicion and precautions occuring sooner to (among others) the Fire Brigade that they might've been handling a contagious chemical or biological threat.
Had the realization of that reality come only later, the collateral suffering might've been much wider for those who engaged directly in responding, or had proximal connection, to this attack.
Why did it cost millions of pounds to clean up

The no fluid rule only applies if it exceeds 350ml, and only if you're carrying it onboard. No such limit applies to checked-in luggage. It was a pretty dumb question really.
Aside from that, they flew to the UK from Russia. Think about it. Two highly experienced GRU agents, on a top secret mission, flying from their own country. They probably carried high level Government papers, and even if not, if there's any problem one phone call sorts it out.
Who's to say they even carried it on the plane in that container? Perhaps it was a powder disguised as something else (remember it only needs to be a tiny amount - 1mg is a fatal dose) and was dissolved into a liquid and put into the bottle after they were already in the UK. That's not an unreasonable theory. Or perhaps they didn't even bring it with them - they were the perpetrators, sure, but don't forget this case isn't closed. Maybe that's what the Detective meant when he said investigations were ongoing. Perhaps there is another party involved, one who supplied the Novichok agent to the two men when they arrived. That theory is less likely, but it can't be ruled out.

Salisbury is an area where there's a lot of armed forces activity. They probably located a former foreign spy there so they could easily take care of him if there was any problems. It's coincidental that the Porton Down lab isn't far away. I'm afraid if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, then it's probably a duck.
