--Layne Stein - Founding Member. Beat Boxer, when he does sing it's Baritone Range. He along with Geoff arranges and edits majority of songs. Also plays Violin.
--Jay None - Baritone, he can get up into tenor ranges quite nicely. He left Recently to pursue Naval singing career, and had joined back in 2017 I think it was, replacing previous baritone. Plays violin as well. Exceptional range and tone, especially in chest/mix. Last song was Man in the Mirror with Voiceplay about 2 months or so ago?
--Geoff Castellucci - Founding Member. Bass. Considers himself a Baritone with a bass range (haha...) and plays a little Piano as well. Arranges many of their songs. I've heard him sing from chest range F#1 in Misty Mountains, G#1 in Sixteen Tons, and through a rock belt of E5 in Oogie Boogie... Not his definitive range but a good sampling. Also is proficient in growl and subharmonic notes (My Mother Told me he sustains a E1 for at least 8 seconds once... crazy
--Earl Elkins - Founding Member, Counter-Tenor, Left a year or so ago for undisclosed personal reasons (seemingly on good terms?).... that man can sing, though IMO sometimes his tambor is very grating at his highest notes, there's been a few songs I thought my jaw was going to shatter my teeth due to clenching my jaw to tight. His position technically remains unfilled.
-----Side Note: Because Earl Hasn't been replaced, they've tapped a lot of guest singers over the last year)
--Eli Jacobson( Pronounced El-ee ) - Tenor, very wide range (I've noted him at least once hitting a solid C2 and I've heard him belt as as high as an G5 still in chesty mix voice, not sure how high he can go. Often sings Geoff's lines when Geoff is singing lead. Also proficient in background rendering (as seen in My Mother Told Me, he created all of the background images for each singer in Unreal Engine or Unity, I can't remember which one but he definitely created them).

--Cesar De La Rosa - Most recent member to join, replaces Jay None. Sings baritone-tenor range. Sang in "We're Good", some shorts and Butter before officially joining last month.

@@DarthKoonstyle No worries. He's been a member for ages. But Geoff, Layne, Earl and one other guy started to sing together in middle school and in high school they formed 42five which would eventually become VoicePlay :)

@@DarthKoonstyle Eli was in school with them, but joined a little later. Scott Porter was a founding member and their original vocal percussionist when they were still called 4 to 5, but he wandered off to try his hand at 'acting'. He came back to appear on last years mega-collab for charity "Just Sing", and more recently, the Halo theme song VoicePlay did. Layne also pinch hits in the bass range to cover the territory when Geoff is switching it into his higher range. Great summary overall.

They were on the Sing Off the same season as Home Free. I’m a HomeFry but I also like Voiceplay. My suggestion is Warriors from Imagine Dragons, I can’t stop listening to it it’s so good.
Summertime - Gershwin, written for stage show Porgy and Bess (1930s some time) - covered by many, many, many over the decades - Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Nelson, Janis Joplin, Ella and Louis (Armstrong), etc etc (a reaction to any of those would be epic too lol)
Simon and Garfunkle also wrote and performed Sound of Silence, amongst a lot of others

I'm gonna miss J-None. I really don't like the new guy. He's talented enough, but that whole retro Boy-George look he has going on just annoys me.
I miss Earl. His voice is unmatched.
No one can sing like him.
On Geoff's last note he held Layne took over the bass sound. He can actually sing as low as Geoff but just accompanies Geoff at times.

From left to right Layne, who is the beatboxer, and occasional singer, J None, the baritone (J None has since left the group to join the Navy), Geoff, the bass, who you're already familiar with then Earl, the high tenor (Earl has also since left the group) and lastly Eli (pronounced Ellie), who is both tenor and can do baritone as well.
Both J and Eli can sing bass too, even Layne as well. They usually do it with their live performances, like in their ACA top ten 80's cartoons video.
Eli has been known to hold the bass if Geoff is featuring. Cesar is the newest addition to the group, if you've seen if I were a rich man, you'd see him. This particular lineup kills the Queen in 5 minutes, as well as he Evolution of boy bands (so good if you haven't already seen it)

The ending by Geoff is soothing at a surprising time.
Yeah Jeff, Geoff is the old spelling, short for Geoffrey, I think a lot names got spelled differently when the arrived in the US. In the UK and in Australia I believe, Geoff is stull used. Earl with the beard can heard taking the lead in Queen in 5 Minutes.

PTX won season 3 and Home Free won season 4. Peter Hollens and Voice Play were on the same season. Also Chance was on at the same singing bass with Street Corner Symphony.

LOL!..."Summertime" was written in 1934 by George Gershwin as one of the songs in1935's "Porgy and Bess".. Our guys Simon and Garfunkel, in addition to this one you're reacting to, also did "Sound of Silence", covered most recently by Disturbed and Pentatonix. Liked your reaction to this one.

Earl, the high tenor with the laser voice, with down to baritone range. and Eli, the tenor with range from high bass to tenor, and also has a kick ass gritty rock voice when he wants to.
as you can see, these boys don't stick to their little "labels" very much, they can do it all! haha. most of them can also do some beatboxing and several also rap.

Loved this reaction! Queen in 5 minutes is an excellent medley that features Earl ( high tenor). Based on the lore of different entities of death fighting over his soul. The rest of the members play the death escorts of the different pantheons. It’s very cool and highly recommended! After you react, go read the comments on that one! I agree! And Peter is solo so everything he does is impressive at the least. Lol. But he and Tim Faust's version of Misty Mountain is so beautiful and probably my favorite. I do love his collaborations with Home Free though.
