After 3 yrs have finally been shown how to inflate & deflate correctly was not aware of the valve to be left open & also about the removal of the gauge brilliant thanks for the information.

I didn't know about turning the valve to open, that will make packing our Galli away much easier, thank you 😎👍🏻

    Can you please clarify.
When using the pump to deflate does the valve need to be open or closed.
I tried this once and left the valve in closed. However when rolling the tent this actually trapped air.
I have since packed tent successfully several times simply leaving valves in open. Walking along the beams then folding towards the valves.
However I would like to know the correct technique for deflation with the pump. Thanks.

@@Sirwafflehead it doesn’t matter whether the valve on the tent is open or closed but you need to make sure you remove the pressure gauge from the pump to deflate.
Once you have finished sucking the air out, you should put the valve back to open.
Personally we always back the tent away without the use of the pump.

Thankyou, yes I can tell the pump nozzle actually opens the valve when it is in the closed position. Does the action of attaching and removing the pump twist the valve into closed to prevent accidental deflation when removing pump? That may have been why I left it in closed when rolling the tent.
I'll check next time I open the tent.
      Thankyou for explaining.

@@Sirwafflehead that’s correct, when the pump is removed from the valve it closes it to ensure no air comes out.

sadly there is a problem with the Airbeam system as i have just found out. they will develop a leak when it rains and pool water inside the living sleeping space, used my Cruz drivaway last week, it rained and the Cruz leaked, not bad but enough to need a bucket and destroy my confidence in Vango

You can get a lot of condensation inside awnings, especially if you are sleeping someone inside it. The key is ventilation to allow the air not to be stagnant and if someone is sleeping inside the awning it is best to have an inner tent if you already haven’t got one. 👍
