Honestly if Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is an "Expansion" instead of a "DLC". Then they can take their sweet time.
Seems like it will merit any term that denotes extreme bigness
@@MadLuigi Didn't that one leaker person on the internet already specify that the "DLC" is massive?
@@slashandgamer that leak that youre talking about was fake sadly but the dlc has been in the works since january 2022 so it will still be massive probably
@@archstar7199 you mean the one from Zullie the Witch right?
@@archstar7199 dont know what leak you are talking about but the most reliable From soft insider Lance Mcdonald already confirmed months ago that expansion is HUGE & was in the works even before the game launched
I think its a good thing AC6 comes out so soon. I believe Elden Ring DLC comes out this winter and we see an SGF trailer in june.
Yeah some sort of trailer in summer could tide over the ER fans during AC's release
I think we get a trailer in Summer fest with an announcement for November December.
Hoping it makes it out this year!
If they dropped Shadows of the Erd Tree at the same time as Tears of the Kingdom I would buy Shadows of the Erd Tree before Zelda because that weapon durability crap was so annoying in Breath of the Wild even From Software were smart enough to remove that mechanic from their games.
The weapon durability in From Software games weren't even that bad, but it got removed anyway because it is a terrible game mechanic that no one ever wanted in any game.
Assuming that rumored April 2022 start date is right for the DLC, I'm gonna say 18 month dev cycle and ready for October or November this year.
I'm not sure that they need to worry as much about releasing either, though. I think DLC wouldn't be competing with TotK and I don't think it needs to: it's dlc, it's an opt-in to extra content on something they already have committed to.
Tru on the not competing. I meant that if the released it right now, it would just be butting heads for attention. So its just another reason to not expect an imminent surprise drop
Lance Mcdonald has already stated that DLC was in the works even before the game launched, he does not know anything about release date & I'm not expecting anything before Nov/Dec/Jan
I dont think they need to worry about TOTK that much, the announcement image on twitter got almost 400k likes, the highest for a video game announcement & it also overshadowed Final fantasy 16 preview gameplay that day
Dark souls 3 as a whole took 3 yrs of development time, that includes all the engine upgrade it needed & general pre production work, back then they were way smaller in terms of manpower
Elden ring DLC potentially having 2+ yrs development time is very interesting because, they dont need to spend anything on tech overhaul related stuff & they also have a vast number of assests prebuilt in the base game
Elden ring grossed over a billion dollars, they have everything they need in order to make it truly special
Just the fact alone that Elden Ring DLC will be the FromSoftware DLC with the longest development time pretty much confirm it would be FromSoftware's biggest DLC ever.
I just can’t wait, it hurt so much.
I think November or December of 2023 is pretty good. In time for Christmas.
There are good sources that Shadow of the Erdtree has been in development since January 2022, so at least it will be a big one.
yeah itll be quite large, lots to play and lorethrough
There’s a leak already around of an ex producers linked in profile that shows the work he did at From Software. The previously “undisclosed title” has now been revealed as shadow of the erdtree with the date of when this person worked on it about a year and a half ago. Idk why people would think a dlc just announced would come before a game that’s probably been years in development but this coming winter 2023 or early 2024 is not that late of a release. Why should we have expected a some sort of immediate release of a dlc if it was just announced to the world at the game awards? I don’t understand.
Idc how long they take
I just hope it isn’t rushed and that they went all out for the dlc
I’ll just be waiting patiently for it to release
Guess it’ll collect dust till then, it’s a lotta games coming
I'm fine with waiting for the DLC, but damn if I don't sometimes want a bit of a progress report.
If there was ever a time for the B team to show its head again after the DS2 fiasco, it would be now. DS2 wasn't a bad game, it was just different from what people had come to expect. Since Armored Core is moving in a new direction from previous entries in the series, as well as being new to most modern FromSoft fans, this would be a good opportunity for them to bring something new to the table.
DS2 was a bad game... youre high on copium
@One Two It's the worst souls game hands down, but I'd still rather play it than most other games in general. Just remove Iron Keep and that section with the annoying poison statues and it'd be a good time honestly.
@@BitterBatter iron keep is worse than all that insane backracking bs in ds3? i just got my friend through it recently and we had to spend 3+ hours in the undead settlement with all the convenants and cut off points you need to finish before you progress.... utter bs.
FFS they need to make at least one boss immune to bleed and another weak to Holy. my entire elden ring build is damage nerfed and my rivers of blood bleed build god friends are laughing at me.
Radahn is so fckin easy with bleed
If it gives them more it to work on them. Im all for it👍
11 months ago "no Elden Ring dlc for 5-10 months"
my guess is early next year if they are going to let players play ac6 to its fullest first
if we get a trailer in summer game's fest and like ac it comes out after the trailer in at least 4 months, SOTE will probably drop around october but keeping ac6 in mind, fromsoft would probably hold onto the dlc a little longer before dropping it so i think december this year to february next year max. then again it could drop tomorrow for all i know
Honestly, taking nearly 2 years to release an expansion is pretty irritating. Im still 100% gonna buy it, but ffs.
I’m just saying, it might be a longer wait for the Elden ring dlc because from when I went to gamestop a month ago, the employee said that they got the news saying dark souls 4 is also in development, i know there ain’t proof yet since most people are convinced ds3 is the final, but GameStop do be getting the news before us and from where I am in the US, they do be releasing the release dates of games that I’m excited for like Diablo 4
Still though, as a souls fan, I’ll wait patiently for the dlc 🗿🍷
Yooo what’s up 🆙 😤💥‼️💯☄️🦆🐝

Why even bother with Elden ring dlc just make elden ring 2
The dlc will pretty much be like ER2, trust
im fine if the Shadow of the Erdtree drops in 2024 and if AC6 gets delayed. good things come to those who wait.
Sad
the first time they releaae a non souls game after 2009. i wont buy it and probably will hate this fucking game but i can respect they finally leaving the cage.
We were expecting a later release date for AC so this is good news… ER expansion december-janurary
I would bet my butt cheeks the dlc comes this winter
SadLuigi moment 😔
Yeah. Luckily as a PC player I have randomizers easily accessable till then.
