I had not quilted in a number of years, and couldn’t for the life of me, remember how to board it. New grand baby coming, needed a quilt. Thank you......no matter how old this is, it still applies. Thank you.
Yes, you could iron the top and backing fabric, but I usually don't iron anything because I wash the quilt after completion, which takes out the fold lines. Thanks for watching!
I have not finished watching yet and thank you for posting this, but why is the fabric that is attached to the board covering the edges of the quilt? Doesn't that mean that you can not access the edges? First time quilter here... I hope this makes sense to you. I was going to attach mine with fabric flaps of the boards hanging inward...
I used pine because it is a softer wood, the most readily available at the time, and the cheapest (at the time). In the video I did about how to make your own quilting frame, I talk about choosing the wood. You can find that video on my channel. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for watching! New grand babies are always a happy reason to get back in to the swing of things! Happy quilting!
Yes, you can use safety pins to pin the fabric to the board.
Thanks for watching!
Wouldn't it be good idea to iron your backing and top piece so it doesn't have those fold marks before putting it on the frame?

Can you use large safety pins to pin the fabric to the board?

What kind of wood are these frames made out of
