Can see Terry was enjoying himself here. Ade was a childhood hero. Simple stupid comedy but exceptionally well presented with his own unique style. Him and Rik are legends.
Same here. I remember it being a cosy feeling sat watching Wogan when i was a kid. The difference in guests he had on from Hollywood legends to the current pop stars and the like. A real chat show giving the guests a chance to speak, no gimmicks that get boring pretty quickly.
Supergrass is excellent. I have it in my Comic Strip Presents box set. Over the years I have subjected my father to Young Ones, Comic Strip, Filthy, Rich and Catflap and Bottom and he dislikes them all but can’t get enough of The Dales which shows if you persevere long enough you can even be appreciated by my father.
I live in the dales so we of course watched that when it came out, absolutely blew my mind when my dad told us this rather serious presenter played vyvyan!!
An interesting contrast with Rik Mayall's Wogan interview. Adrian is obviously much more shy and so has to hide behind a performance for most of the interview.
Interesting to see that he has only recently shed Vivian, and was soon to do Filthy, Rich & Catflap, yet with the brown jacket and speech patterns you can clearly see that Eddie was beginning to make his presence known!
Yes from the way it looks I'd say the tape ran out on the VHS tape I was using to record it in '85. Compared to what I got as a student at the time, tapes seemed to cost a fortune then, so I used to squeeze as much content as I could on each. Ironic in this digital age to think we had to think carefully in the '80's about what we captured due to the cost of the media.
They were an awesome duo...You have to give him respect though, due to the fact it would be hard to carry on doing something you did with your partner in crime. He did solo stuff on his own though, which he may get back into doing like his short appearances. When it comes to a Rick and Ade duo, there is nobody who could take the place! Plus you get older and move on to other projects in life...Apparently they were going to do another Bottom before Rick died, though they couldn't agree at the time. (whether or not thats just a rumour or not)
My claim to fame is that Ade's father, Frederick Edmondson, was my geography teacher in middle school. He looks a lot like his father here except his dad was bald and wore half moon glasses. I always remember his father wearing a brown/beige suit.
@@ThomasCorfield Maybe. His father was a very stiff upper lip type of person and we knew we were not allowed to mention his famous son because it would annoy him. We thought it was because he was embarrassed of him. I still have his father's signature in my autograph book.
I remember watching this when it was broadcast. In 1985 I was 14 or 15 (depending when it was shown of course), and I thought it was hilarious! My parents, however, thought Ade's behaviour was appalling. :D
All the people commenting that he said bollocks, that's not shocking now, however there's no way you could use the word imbecile so casually on TV now. That made me uncomfortable

He was and still is lovely, warm, funny and rather gorgeous!
Well said!
What the hell are you talking about. He’s very dangerous and a bum
Agree!
*gasps softly* He had HAIR
TRIVIA: Ade Edmondson shaved his head for Bottom. When he appeared on Going Live to be interviewed about Bottom Series 2 he had a full head of hair.
Not MUCH hair, tho.
Yeah thats how we all remember him..
He’s lost a lot of hair.
Amazing how him saying "bollocks" felt so revolutionary and shocking, compared to an equivalent interview in the 21st century.
his smile just makes me melt! lordy..i could sit and stare at a picture of him for hours on end.
Minimalism. I approve.
Ade is one of my favourite comedians.
I could say a lot but now all I can say is: CUUUUUUUUUUUTE
Really really cute indeed!
RIP Sir Terry you lovely man.
Ade is a legend.
Awww he's so cute
I miss Wogan and Edmondson. So natural and comfortable together. I felt quite good watching that.

oh my god, he's so CUTE!!!
What about me ?
He looks so young!!! And sweet! :)
The sound effects segment makes my soul happy.
When he took that sip of water at 1.43, reminded me so much of Edward Hitler swigging from a whiskey bottle years later in the xmas episode of Bottom.
I hardly recognised him without luminous orange spikes ;D
Geez this guy is funny. Keeps Terry on his toes. Very talented man
his hair is really fluffy...0_o and adorable

he's soooooo pretty🥺🥺
One of my comedy Gods. The other one is dead. R.I.P. Ryk
Now THAT S an entrance !

I remember when long play came out, and then the 5hr vhs tapes giving you 10hrs, it was like heaven, re-record not fade away 😁
Such a shame he doesn't do comedy anymore due to the passing of Rik.

@@LittleMissJmoo jesus can you imagine if they did and rik quite literally died on stage
It wasn't due to the passing of Rik
@@bigdaddy4069 Well what was it then?
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX Ade Edmondson put a stop to the duo a good 3 years before Riks death.
thanks so much for this.. it´s hilarious!!!

Cool. Do you feel that's why Eddie Hitler wears that same sort of suit? Thanks for sharing.

@@noonoofulable That's beautiful. Makes stars seem mortal. Thanks so much.
OP, he was mine too; Drummond Middle in Bradford 😊 - Btw, what year did you leave? I left in 1988.
Ade is a good looking chap. Jennifer Saunders is a lucky woman.
She's not too bad herself
Some girlies have all the absolutely fabulous luck!
@@wrmty56413 She does have a wazzo pair of jugs. And they're firm.
Did Ade keep that shirt and suit for Bottom which was 6 years later?
Thanks!

Then he hit both targets! :)
Brilliant! havn't seen that clip since I was 10! Shame the video ran out!. (Ooh have we got a video!? ).
YES WE'VE GOT A BLOODY VIDEO
@@JimmyCaravan 😂😂
He was great as Vyvyan, but I think his finest moment was playing the Red Baron in Blackadder.
Would love to see Rik and Ade do a film with Laurel and Hardy.
I love him!
I'm sure he's wearing the same suit he'd use for Eddie in Bottom!
He sang the theme song for Ab Fab. He is brilliant.
My favorite
Wowww, he really ran verbal rings around Wogan there.
7:15 "We apologize for the breakdown on Wogan. We'll try and get you back to it as soon as we can. In the meantime, some news."
I love his hair, I want to ruffle it.
Riveripple sameeee
And I want to fluff it.
That Acaster fellow's aged well!
im just sad that his hair went cos i love his crazy ginger-ish hair
the supergrass character :)
Tel has white socks on.......so 80s.
That was.... painful.
Sad.
This guy... this guy... 🫡 Captian Shitzu! Wa dee oddah! Verrryeee stinkyeee! 🤣
and a 1st edition copy of "Parade" magazine...
Part 2?
0:36 The Terminator arrives in 1985.
Ade looks really young I have seen him with Rik in the young ones filthy rich and cat flap bottom and more I miss Rik I like Rik more than Ade
4:33 LOL
06.10....hahahahahaha those sound affects !!
Eddie cat flap
I thought the rudest thing you could say on television was 'bloody (farty) big job' ! Awwwww isn't he cute, his hair was so graet it's sad really!
Go on Adrian punch Wogan!
Wait what happen to the end. He smashed the cup on his head then...blue screen
All the people commenting that he said bollocks, that's not shocking now, however there's no way you could use the word imbecile so casually on TV now. That made me uncomfortable
Is....is he wearing the Eddie Hitler suit? Six years before Bottom was even invented?
Syklone It definitely looks like it, yes. 😄😃👍🏻
@battywattywoo And lucky Rik! x)
1 person got jealous because he wasn't as cute and talented as Ade.
He's hard to interview isn't he?
Marc Ludford yup, Terry Wogan is awkward and struggling trying to do this.
2:07 LOL
Please tell me that's the same brown suit he used for Eddie Hitler's costume lol
you obviously haven't seen bottom then
Vim Fuego, what kind of name is that?!?!
Terry was a nice fella.....but a Tory. Maybe one of those very very few nice tories left.
If you were nice, you wouldn't be a Tory. The two are incompatible.
@@grahamlive What a fucking stupid thing to write.
@@grahamlive This is another Graeme in full agreement with you 😄
only Ade could do slightly cringey material and not seem the least bit cringey. He and Rick were indivisible
Do you think he ever gets tired of wearing brown suits.
its cos he plup heself lol
Brown suits should only ever be worn by those prone to shitting their pants.
2:07 LOL
has anyone noticed that hes wearing and eddie from bottom suit lol
dosnt suit him not being a punk :P
Bollox...
indeed!!! the height of British alternative humor!! bollocks, tits willies how hilarious!!!!!
He's in eastenders now
Love ade but this interview was stupid
Wigan ...I mean wogan...didn't know how to handle Ade Edmonton...ade had him on a string!!!..😋👍
not funny just smug and crass
So unfunny...how did he ever become famous?
