Making the decision to replace the engine of the Tejas would send the project spiraling back to the prototype stage, potentially adding 4-5 years for integration, testing, certification, and reliability checks. Even deciding to make such a move could take 2-3 years, given the glacial pace of decision-making. Can India afford such delays when the Indian Air Force is already facing the twin crises of dwindling numbers and aging jets? The IAF is at its lowest fighter strength in history, and this includes jets that should have been retired over a decade ago, along with others that barely leave their workshops. Yet, somehow, India still speaks of fighting a two-or even three-front war. With what? Vintage aircraft from the Cold War era? Meanwhile, China’s fifth-generation stealth fighters like the J-20 and J-35 are not just operational but actively evolving. Pakistan, too, is set to acquire the J-35 next year. Against this backdrop, India's "great hope" remains the Tejas-an aircraft that still struggles to meet basic frontline requirements decades after its inception. But why worry? India seems to have mastered the art of living in denial. After all, grand declarations and airshows can always replace real capabilities. Maybe those 50-60-year-old jets can be polished up to match China’s stealth fighters-because nothing screams "superpower" like relying on museum pieces in an era of cutting-edge warfare.

@@AbinashMalana Twin-engine fighter jets are neither invincible nor essential, especially when the adversary is just next door. They drain budgets, cost more to maintain and fly, and are easier to detect and target due to their size and RCS. This is precisely why the IAF is perpetually short of funds, despite receiving a significant share of the defense budget. But why focus on practical, cost-effective solutions when the goal is chest thumping, bragging and to impress at airshows, rather than field combat-ready jets? After all, who needs logic when you can dream of twin-engine wonders while relying on a fleet of aging, barely operational aircraft?

I am sure gouvt is matured enough not to go for SU57 , even after ukerain passion stops, sanctions will remain, besides even Russia is not able to operationalise these aircraft. Long term goal of reducing dependency on Russia will continue
License fees should be kept out of the equipment
Al 31FN was always needed glad we got it , and whether we buy Su 57 or not but we should consider at least 2-4 squadrons of Su 35 with Virupaksha Radar to counter depleting squadron strength . This option is viable as Nasik line can be utilized by the time MRFA is executed and new assembly line is established for Rafales .
Bhai aik adh K4 hmari napak foj py b maro.help india
Maine to shuru se hi bola, Russian engine le lo. India to Russian equipment aise ignore kar raha hai jaise Russian weapons ekdum hi kharab hai.
Russian technology expose ho chuki hai, buhot sare Mig29, Su 30 aur SU 35s shot down hue hain russia ukraine war me. Abhi Russian equipment ki demand lowest hai.
Hello bro.. very negative replies on my yesterday comment
We will get 5th gen fighter after
Pakistan 😶due to panotee
So LCA will have a Russian engine?, Ameeica as usual cheated us 😂
If hal is exploring the license production of upgraded /uprated latest variant of al-31 engines for super sukhoi upgrade then it would be from super sukhoi to super-duper sukhoi.
Pehle, JF17 ko deke deke BVR Tejas me laga diya.
Phir, JF17 ke jesey RWR, ECM, or Data Link Tejas me thoss diya.
JF17 jesey AESA bhee laga diya.
Abb tu JF17 ka engine bhi layne jareho!
Just buy the damn JF17 and get over with it!
Pakistan will even paint it for you.
But jf 17 blunder has everything made in china , while india has everything made in india with 65% jet engine 😊
Pakistani are only allowed to do paint , oil and screw the planes by chinese masters 😂
That's the only thing Pakistan can do. Paint.

40% of the JF 17 are grounded.
Myanmar is facing same problem with JF 17 which gave them
@timetraveller5065 Before sharing you opinions on Pakistan's paternity, you should learn to read first. I didn't suggest you should buy the JF17 from Pakistan. Buy it from China. It will be built in Pakistan, but no worries, we will stick a Made in China sticker on it.
Heck we can even put a Made in India sticker on it, but then we can not offer any warranty on the workmanship.
@@timetraveller5065chootya ho ya bhool gaye, is waqt jis video pe ye comment ho raha usme Tejas ki engine procurement ki baat ho rahi. Iska matlb tum log Russia, USA se bheeg mang k engine loge aur phir India me frame me assemble karke kahoge indigenous hai😂😂😂
No su57. Because trump is here and India can't afford CAATSA right now.
Suna hay:
Nepal rejects the Indian Army Chief's request-no more Gorkhas for the Indian Army. Looks like the days of "bravery on rent" are officially over.
India, which proudly boasts of its "mighty" military, now faces the reality of losing one of its most iconic assets. Perhaps it’s time to find another way to fill the ranks with dalits, christian Sikh or Muslims or maybe just double down on slogans and ceremonies.

2040: Finally 180 Tejas mk1 have been delivered
If developed by Pakistan, Pfx takes first flight by 2054😂😂😂😂
By then Pakistan won't exist 😂@@yamarck101

Aukat abhi dikhaya to nhi hai lekin supply chain issue bol kr dikhane ka try kr raha hai

Twin-engine fighter jets are neither invincible nor essential, especially when the adversary is just next door. They drain budgets, cost more to maintain and fly,
and are easier to detect and target due to their size and RCS.
Personally mujhe lagta hai ki iaf ko koi bhi 5th generation fighter jet nhi lena chahiye or Pakistan ko jitni jldi ho ske china se 5th generation jet acquire Krna chahiye. Phir indian defence companies par bhi pressure aayga or may be war level pe amca ko production me le jaye

Russia has offered Su-57 to India with local production you Pakistanis should be worried about that.
@anubratadas4911 Russia offered the Felon back in 2010, but 15 years later still nothing.
We will wait at least until 2040 before worrying about Su57 being produced in India.
