      Shove for a few reasons
      #1 he gives up GSs on the turn
      #2 in this game less likely he bluffs.
      #3 1/2psb isn't a bluff big enough
      #4 if he had a 9 he is raising at some point
      So his range is top boat, quads, or some other value hand like AT, KT which out combo the strong hands.

    How do we feel about checking OTT? Vill called OTF w/ an opponent behind. Vill has plenty of 9x. There's only one combo of ATs. Also many of vill's draws could be combo draws. Against that range check OTT. If the river completes non club draws I probably bet/fold 1/3. Otherwise a brick, I bet/fold 1/2. Club river is probably x/c.
    Or are we too face up at that point?

  • @Adam-fb5nt
    @Adam-fb5nt 2 года назад

    Very helpful. It seems like he committed himself to calling a river shove with the size of his turn bet. If he had bet a little less, he would have more options on the river. But as played, it seems like Bart is correct that he might as well jam to get value from a 10. I wonder if he had only bet $200 on the turn, which would have created a pot of $830 with $515 left behind, does that change the decision to shove for value on the river? Can you check/fold to a shove at that point? Induce with a small bet?

    • @kineahora8736
      @kineahora8736 2 года назад +1

      Yeah I was thinking this too. Deals well with the situation of opponent having either a ten or a 9, but deals poorly with QJ or clubs, both of which have about a 20% draw. If you bet 200 you are giving them 200/935 odds which is I guess not awful. But maybe 220? That gives 220/975 odds which does charge them, and creates 975 on the river with 495 behind, 1/2 pot. And then you could block-lead $150 and fold to a shove.

    One thing to add about the riv shove is your line is so strong your opponent with 2 pair may think you wouldnt do this with just an overpair so will call because you cant really have it unless you have tens full/quads. Basically they can think your value is too narrow to not call down

    I don't agree that the river is a value bet. Is a T calling here after such a show of strength? I think he'd only be getting called by better. Better to check call and give the guy a chance to bluff since flush missed. I'd jam if non-club Q hit, tho. Top two, KQ, AQ might call. Maybe even QJ. Live 2/5 players have a tougher time folding after hitting top pair on the river for some reason.

    I find it outrageous that Bart so confidently.rules out QQ and JJ. A huge portion of 2/5 players, especially recreational players, would play QQ and JJ exactly like this. And we heavily block AT so there aren't a lot of Tx in opponents range. Maybe he checked back 87 of clubs.

    • @jameswalker7420
      @jameswalker7420 Год назад

      We can't assume he doesn't have a 9. But if he does, for the most part, there's not much we can do about it. So we try to maximize value against the rest of his potential hands. It's kind of like when you have kk preflop. You don't know that nobody has AA. But you're better off playing to try to win the maximum assuming nobody does.

  • @mackwilkins5167

    This is a pure river shove regardless of the card given the action. Having less than half pot behind heading to a river, and not putting it in with ANY semblance of showdown value regardless of the river card, let alone the best available 2 pair, is comical. Bart could have answered this one via single sentence email instead of doing a call video. “You have Aces in a 3b pot with less than half pot behind on the river, lead mash it in there.”
