That 2 hour trophy is so tight. I remember my final time was like 1:56. Even though it's a short game, it's a platinum I am proud to have.
So, so tight. I just did it in 1:59:02. Even consulting guides there is so much gamebreaking stuff you have to do. I'm hoping the Shadow of The Colossus Plat isn't so stressful (doing the PS4 one)

Once again you inspired me to go for a platinum I'd previously written off. Got the platinum today and it was a nice milestone as a bonus. Watched this video probably 5 times during the process to keep my spirits up lol.

After many attempts I arrived at the graveyard with 17 minutes 2 seconds, felt pretty anxious because I wasn't sure it was good enough but came across this video! THANKS!!!! 😁 This will help me a lot
I played Ico back on PS2 and loved it. The speed run trophy is probably my the only reason I never went back for it, but seeing you muscle through...maybe I’ll give it another chance once I’m done with the Metal Gear franchise I’m currently working through.
Such a great game. One of my favourites too. Wow, you are going through the MGS series. ICO speed run will simple by comparison.
Hi! Another update for another game! Decided that after my months playing through MGS, I would indeed try for the Ico platinum. I also decided to go for the “Castle Guide” trophy first play through. I will admit this may have been a mistake. I wanted to pull my hair out at various stages. The graveyard didn’t give me trouble, but the sewers and the idol steps (throwing the bomb) each took me an hour or so a piece. Plus, while I was making good time, I was lagging behind your times by about 6-7 minutes at each save. My final save was 1:27:13, and I decided to give it a shot. After a few restarts due to mistiming some jumps, I made it to the final boss, sat waiting anxiously through the credits, and made that mad dash down the beach. Final time 1:58.53. Now to clean up the rest of my trophies on my second play through, but the hard work is done! As I’ve mentioned before, love your journeys, can’t wait for the next one!

I must say this is probably your best! I’ve platinummed a few games that you’ve done episodes on. And played Ico. But damn, that’s probably one of the hardest speedruns I’ve ever come across. Here’s a late congrats!!

I found your channel not too long ago & began to binge watch your videos, especially the platinum journeys. Watching you platinum some of my favorite games like Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted is such a blast and i'm glad your brilliant hard work is paying off. You've also motivated me to get platinums that I wrote off long ago like this ICO plat, but watching you get it motivated me to revisit it again. Happy to say with your journey & a guide, I got the ICO Plat as well! Knocked off the 2 & 4 hour trophies along with no deaths to get it and boy was it tough at some places. Regardless, it was so sweet getting that plat that I just had to pour me a whiskey drink in celebration hahaha. Anyway, hope this comment isn't too long to read. Thank you once again, keep up the good work & I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors & plat journeys!

This, Colossus and Last Guardian are amazing games. I’ve got the platinum on all three, twice for Colossus as it’s on ps3 & 4. All three can be tricky, especially Guardian because of that stupid animal!

Awesome video, I'm currently trying to get platinum in this game too. I can still feel the frustration watching you try to deal with the graveyard, and the joy when something goes off without a hitch. Great job.
It's cool to see an old platinum journey I've never seen before! I hadn't watched this one because I'd never played Ico, but I just finished my first ever playthrough last night! No platinum yet, though I fully intend to this summer (I'm playing on PSnow, and I'm moving back to college this weekend, and the internet there isn't good enough to stream games, so I gotta wait to continue)

Pofski Yeah, the 2 hour trophy can be a bit stressful.
I'm still a bit unsure about The Last Guardian because of just how long it has been in development, it might be a trainwreck. I will wait to see if reviews are positive. If so, I will probably pick it up :)
Adam McDermott I don't think it's gonna be THAT bad. I mean the people watching Ueda play at the E3 were put through so many emotions. even though no story has been revealed. Just watching the boy pulling speers out of Trico's back and Trico screaming in pain really hurt everyone watching. It's gonna be a really emotional and beautiful game, like every game Fumito Ueda ever created. I can feel it! (it's just my opinion though. We'll have to wait and see. There are good reasons why it has been delayed. Maybe you should look them up)
True. Ueda has created nothing but masterpieces so odds are he is going to continue that trend with The Last Guardian.

Loved this game. Probably my third favourite of the Ueda games. Only played it the once tho so that may change. Doubt I’ll attempt a speed run tho 😮
I just did Ico over the past 2 days. Took me about 10-12 hours. No idea what my final time was but my main gate save was 1:25:30. I am so proud of this one, I might have to do Shadow of the Colossus and then The Last Guardian.

Jack Barrett For the graveyard, absolutely. Her A.I. can be all over the place at the worst of times. Although, for most of the game she is fine.
Just got this plat today and had to rewatch this video since I understand the struggle now. Like you, I did three playthroughs, one playthrough casually, second playthrough I attempted to get the 2 hour speedrun but failed since I tried to do it blind, got to the final bench at 1:40. Third playthrough I had to look up a guide since I had no clue how I could save time since that blind playthrough was already me going as fast as I knew how. This third playthrough was semi-guided as I only looked up how to breeze through the enemy heavy parts, everything else I did intuitively.
I saw someone say you need minimum 1:25 on the final bench. I got 1:26, I thought fuck this, I’ll roll with it, I ain’t playing the game a 4th time. I choked AT THE FINAL FIGHT when you had to get the sword the last time, I thought okay, maybe I’ll still have time, clicked continue, did the next attempt flawlessly. Meet Yorda at the beach, DIDNT GET THE TROPHY.
I went back to the final bench save point, did everything flawlessly even the final fight. FINALLY GOT THE PLAT THANK GOD. You have no idea how relieved I was, I thought if I didn’t get the trophy then, i would have had to do a 4th playthrough since I was absolutely flawless in this attempt, that was the most uncomfortable credits sequence in my life, I’m so glad to have this game in my plat collection.
If I had to describe the 2hr speedrun trophy, it’s basically like a Crash platinum relic, but over the course of an entire game, absolutely very little room for error and you have to actually exploit some sections and use skips just to BARELY make it.
Oh no, chocked at the final fight. Damn.

@@AdamMcDermott I’m surprised you replied to that and read it, thanks for doing that. I started this game in 2016, was intimidated by the trophy list since I beat the game in 7 hours I thought fuck off no way I can beat it under 2. I’ve been working on upping my completion percentage on PSNP, so I’ve been revisiting old games and platting them, if it wasn’t for this video I would have written this game off.

Two days ago I finally got the Platinum for Shadow of the Colossus on PS3! I finally beat Gaius #3 in under 5 minutes (Yay!).
After that I went back to ICO - out of curiosity. I had the same trophies left as you (except I had the spiked club already).
What’s funny: I had the exact same experience with the lightsaber. A loading screen was necessary for the trophy. A fine troll by the game. :D
Now I have left the 2 hour speedrun trophy.
Ugh, the graveyard and the area after it are the worst part of the speedrun.
Fun fact: My best time so far is: 36:56 -> just 51 seconds slower than your first attempt (8:29). So I know where to cut time.
My current best for the last savepoint (Main Gate) is 1:30:03 -> Not good enough. I want a time around 1:20:00 - 1:25:00.
And I am looking forward to it. Yes, it will be a challenge to cut off time but the reward will be epic. Like you said: I have a lot of failed attemps in my backpack and but I also got the reward from it.
This is easily one of my favorite Platinum journeys so far because I can relate sooo much. Years after its upload I found this gem of a video.
Edit: I now own the Platinum for ICO.

Saltyie That is on the list for sure. I won't be doing it in the near future because of what a massive undertaking it will be, but I plan to get around to it at some point.
I've been working on this Platinum recently. Just Castle guide left to get! Final time of 2:01:34 on my last run - so frustrating! My last save was 1:26:50 so I've painted myself into a bit of a corner but I'm sure I'll get it soon

I played this game on my cousins ps3 and we took turns at the speed run all day and night he just got the plat a few months ago but my best time was 2 hours and 3 minutes cause I press the continue button

I can't say for sure when the Horizon episode is going to be released, but I am tipping away at it. I have 8 minutes of the final video done. Don't worry, just because nothing has been uploaded in a while doesn't mean that I have left. Just that a video is taking far longer than anticipated :)

That is the special "light sword" I think it is called. It becomes bigger and more powerful if you are holding her hand.

Gets shorter when he’s away from her and longer when he’s with her. Definitely not a euphemism. Also, wouldn’t the timer keep going even during cutscenes and pauses and while sitting on the couch saves?
Timer does indeed keep going during cutscenes you can instead skip. It is advised to skip saving on every couch, I think I skipped a couple along the way.

Wow, it was my favourite game on PS 2, alongside with Shadow of the colossus. I recently tried to play this and other games on PC with PS 2 emulator, but it was just absolute shit, compare to real console. Oh it's too bad that Sony has stopped producing their old consoles =(

It's unlikely, buddy. I didn't like the game when I played it years ago but there is now the remake which apparently smooths out the controls. Never say never, but not anytime soon.

Speedrun trophies suck.
I actually like them. They require you to master the game; understand the mechanics, levels, encounters, puzzles to perfection. I feel like a bit of a king when I get speedrun trophies, but that's just me. I know quite a few people despise them.
I wouldn't generalise it. I liked the speedrun for Resident Evil 7 but I hated ICO or even worse The Last Guardian, bc in my opinion these games are in no way meant to be played this way and the camera and controls are way to bad to require you to do certain tasks under time pressure. Especially when i loved the first playthrough and the speedrun left a bitter taste as my last missing trophy.
