I have a pair of these and a pair of original EQP-1A. The Pultecs get used more on drums and bass and also very lightly on the 2 buss, but these 822s are quite useful on stems and for making noticeably different mixes for real world applications like different size theaters or clubs for playback. For some reason, I almost never track with the 822s.
Hmm. This is a bit more precise than the Pultec, a bit more controlled. But I feel it has less character and less “balls” if you know what I mean. The Pultec is a bit of a one trick pony, but it’s an AMAZING trick. The EAR is more flexible but its sound is not as exciting. Maybe :-)
That is the best eq I have ever heard. Please make all EAR gear vids.
The unit was grooving to the music at 5:57

Thank you for a lovely demostration of great E.Q
Awesome on the D.I Guitar track !
Isn't it? :-)
finally man, great reviews...thumbs up
Thanks!
just GREAT!!
amazing!
For mastering I prefer the Ear than the Pultec, the pultec is rounder in the lower areas but I prefer the brightness of the Ear
oh yeah love the pulteeeeccccc vibezz
So how do you think this compares to the Pultec you just reviewed??

Sweet....yeah...I really dug the high end on the EAR in your demo. Almost more natural than the Pultec if that's even possible!
Not as euphoric as the pultec. I can hear how dramatic it is but it is missing a lot of the magic of a pultec.
