Chris, are you going to cover Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec? What a great race. We knew breakaway wasn't going to make it but Tadej missed his sprint window and it closed on him as he moved right about 150 meters from the line. Quebec is a beautiful city!
Really good coverage of the Vuelta, Chris! I enjoyed it. I guess Roglic regrets that he didn’t attack Kuss in the final stages in 2023. He would have been at least nr 2 in the Vuelta 2023 and now the best Vuelta rider ever.

Yes that was no doubt a factor in his underwhelming result, but in my opinion Sepp is not a GT winner - he is arguably the best high mountain domestique in the current WT peloton but he not a GT leader. Why? Sepp has not got the ability for explosive and sustained acceleration on slopes >10%, an ability that is needed to gap your rivals, an ability that Jonas, Tadej, and Primoz (and possibly Remco) all have, plus his time trialling is merely good and not outstanding a GT winner must consistently be in the top 10 in ITT's. Congratulation to Roglic for winning 4th Vuelta. I feel Enric Mas can win the Grand Tour only if other big names crash out. Missed Wout Van Art in the final week. He could have gone home with both the green jersey and most combative rider award (instead of Soler). Thank you Chris for the great coverage throughout Vuelta!
Roglic said in the interview after the race that he had to go to the toilet 20 times before the last stage today...What a fighter! (Correction it was 20 times not 25)
This is why I personally don't go to the bathroom 25 times a day. I just sit on the toilet for 8 hours a day in 1 or 2 goes. It is more efficient to go once or twice for a long duration of time than to go many times for several times a day.
Thats a lie. I drank that crap--no pun intended--they give you before a colonscopy, and i dont think i went to the bathroom 25 times. Besides, who's actually counting? Im sure it hasnt been a pleasant last couple of days, and Primoz is certainly a fighter, but lets not get too crazy
Great work and insights chris and gang as usual. That was the most exciting gt of the year. Red battle, top 3 and 5 battle, white and kom jersey battles. To bad for wout. The giro and tdf lost me when it's not close and a lot of the tdf stages were just flat boring. Perhaps the vuelta organisers can pick the parcour for next year's tdf. I'm still of the opinion that cycling being a team sport should have a ttt in every grand tour. Crazy that mas and carapaz finished with exact times in the last itt
What do you think of Primož ability to recover after mishaps? You talked about his bad positioning while in the main group but what in your opinion is his main issue in the Tour besides the fact stakes and competition is higher? Where does he rank for 2024 Butterfly Effect? Finally when you saw him in the 2015 Tour of Azerbaijan did you know he would be the killer he turned out to be?
I pointed out Roglic to my DS during that race right away, when we were both in the break together. Roglic had multiple teammates but he quickly stood out. I was chasing him doing 400watts and I couldn’t make a dent into his lead. Pretty sure that was Roglic’s coming out party but few saw it as up close as I did. 😂🦋👊
Nitty-gritty details, but not concerning the police officer: you can get arrested for less. But let's say it was fun. The teamboss of Roglic may also have benefitted from some non- nitty-gritty indulgences. Roglic didn't find him funny! But better win with a stumbling teamboss than with a super one who doesn't give you the chance! Roglic has always something, but most of all he has it!
I doubt O'Connor will find this kind of success at Jayco Allula, at least not for a couple of years. Too bad, as he seems right on the cusp of a breakthrough GC victory. As it is he hasn't quite cracked the big 4 yet. It is still RE, TP, PR and JV.

Missed Wout Van Art in the final week. He could have gone home with both the green jersey and most combative rider award (instead of Soler).
Thank you Chris for the great coverage throughout Vuelta!
👊🦋
Roglic said in the interview after the race that he had to go to the toilet 20 times before the last stage today...What a fighter! (Correction it was 20 times not 25)
25!!!?
🦋💪
This is why I personally don't go to the bathroom 25 times a day. I just sit on the toilet for 8 hours a day in 1 or 2 goes. It is more efficient to go once or twice for a long duration of time than to go many times for several times a day.
@@dr.merlot1532 you can not argue with that logic.
Thats a lie. I drank that crap--no pun intended--they give you before a colonscopy, and i dont think i went to the bathroom 25 times.
Besides, who's actually counting? Im sure it hasnt been a pleasant last couple of days, and Primoz is certainly a fighter, but lets not get too crazy
well done our Aussies No gas no worries....
Lupine Lightheimer?
Great work and insights chris and gang as usual. That was the most exciting gt of the year. Red battle, top 3 and 5 battle, white and kom jersey battles. To bad for wout. The giro and tdf lost me when it's not close and a lot of the tdf stages were just flat boring. Perhaps the vuelta organisers can pick the parcour for next year's tdf. I'm still of the opinion that cycling being a team sport should have a ttt in every grand tour. Crazy that mas and carapaz finished with exact times in the last itt
Vuelta had some good action every day. 👊🦋
O'Connor: Ben There! Done That!
🦋😄
Question. Why don't you use short video cuts?
Thumbs 👍👍👍
👊🦋
What about Primoz health? Ben looked good the last few days.
@12:06 wait, Primoz only has 1 fan? 😂
😂🦋👊
Roglic is the second oldest Grand Tour winner after the WW2. The oldest - Chris Horner!
Here is to roglic defeating that record in 2032, haha
In the galaxy!
Also, what about Wout? Is he ok?
Sad that Marc Soler did not get the mountain jersey. All good, though. He's gonna go to bed tonight and not know where he's at, so nothing lost.
He got a nice stage win though 👊🦋💪
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first stage in which Chris didn't call out any knuckleheads?
Nitty-gritty details, but not concerning the police officer: you can get arrested for less. But let's say it was fun. The teamboss of Roglic may also have benefitted from some non- nitty-gritty indulgences. Roglic didn't find him funny! But better win with a stumbling teamboss than with a super one who doesn't give you the chance! Roglic has always something, but most of all he has it!
😊
😄🦋
I doubt O'Connor will find this kind of success at Jayco Allula, at least not for a couple of years.
Too bad, as he seems right on the cusp of a breakthrough GC victory. As it is he hasn't quite cracked the big 4 yet. It is still RE, TP, PR and JV.
The Big Four are on page one just for that reason. Those guys are always a threat. 😱🦋👊💪
Did the sun set on the The Eagle of Durango?
Did it ever really rise?
@@matthillard9363 nice question, I didn't want to upset Chris Horner too much
Form affected by long covid this year. After he gained the lead in last year's Vuelta, he put time on every other rider except his two loyal teammates.
@@joebriggs8422 his two loyal teammates babysat him, and they did grudgingly, only smiling for the public, oh by the way, his loyal teammates were his LEADERS
@@joebriggs8422
If Kuss was on any other team, at last year’s Vuelta, he wouldn’t have won.
Anyone know why Tadej did not or couldn’t race the Vuelta? If winning 3 grand tours would make you immortal, why wouldn’t TP do it knowing this year was perfect for it?
The Spanish going into the nitty gritty to keep a Spaniard with the record books. Shocked, not shocked.
Hehehe 🤪🦋👍
Side question. Why no flower bouquets at the Vuelta award ceremonies? Makes it look less classy. Isn't it tradition?
Someone else got answer for that. 🤔🦋
Blazing hot podium girls is also a tradition, and they mostly took them away because some frumpsters complained.
