    i love this finale so much because of how different it is to usual season finales which typically sort everything out ready for a clean slate next season, i respect the writers so much for not going down that route. this episode is so similar to empire strikes back- how everything is left unresolved with no happy endings. it added so much more tension to when s3 finally came out and completely set the tone for how dark it's about to get!!

    • @benspiller

      After processing everything that happened here, this final is truly phenomenal!! The fact that this wasn't a standard final in the sense of an all-out conflict summing up the season but a simple mission going so incredibly badly makes me think that going forward no one is safe and everything just feels a whole lot more dangerous.

    Great Finale
    [*] Tech
    There was a theory that Tech would become the Imperial version of Nemesis - First Imperial Zilo Troper.
    Just take a look:
    - Both are intelligent and from an elite unit
    - The Zilo beast is there and they can create armor
    - We saw that mysterious clone, CX, who might may have been brainwashed.
    - Both suffered severe injuries.
    I discussed this theory with my friend. The entire conversation is quite long, so here are two quotes that pretty much sum it up:
    "If that's the case, Tech is still lost. Nemesis couldn't be redeemed, it was a completely different personality comparable to Grievous. We're talking about a psychopath whose obsession is inflicting pain and killing. Such people don't seek redemption."
    "In this scenario, the question is who would kill him. Honestly, I'm afraid it might be Omega, but considering it's Disney, I'm not sure they would go that far."
    So my conclusion, maybe it's better that Tech died...
    And rule number one in the galaxy: If you see a Trandoshan, don't trust them. I have no information about any good Trandoshan. There probably are some exceptions, but they're few and far between, and hard to find out about. This race always looks out for its own interests, and whenever I see a Trandoshan, I assume they might betray or even worse.
    Cid is just an example of being selfish and caring about her own well-being. A classic Trandoshan.
    Few people asked this question, and I personally didn't notice it at first, only realizing it during analysis: We only see Scorch again, but where are Boss and Fixer? Where is Delta Squad?
    Hemlock personally took part in this mission so the entire Delta Squad should be there too. Something's not right here.
    Unfortunately, the conclusion is clear. Scorch left Delta Squad:
    At the end of the game, one of the members, Sev, falls into a trap and asks for help. The whole Delta Squad wants to help, but then they receive an order from Master Yoda for immediate evacuation. The clone relaying the orders said that one commando wasn't worth the risk to the entire operation.
    Scorch was furious: "One Commando? He's talking about my brother!"
    And now my conclusion: Boss and Fixer followed that order and acted rationally. Scorch wanted to be loyal and, even if it was a suicide mission, wanted Delta to save their brother.
    The fact that Delta abandoned and didn’t search for Sev broke Scorch and led him to leave and work alone, training new commandos, and later becoming a commander on Tantiss.
    As for Emerie Karr, she is very interesting.
    The most popular theory was that she isn't a clone but Jango Fett's sister. (In the legends, Jango had a sister.)
    This additionally raised even more questions about who Omega really is.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад

      Tech becoming Nemesis is such an interesting theory, it feels like it follows quite closely to Anakin's story with the old self dying and being replaced by a new evil persona yet this one wouldn't be able to be redeemed. The idea of Omega being the one to eventually have to 'put them down' sounds fantastic but Disney would never go for something so dark.
      I'm never going to trust a Trandosian again 😂 Cid has broken all my trust in that species and she is fully dead to me.
      Would love to go more in-depth with Scorch in this show, he's shown up quite a lot and I don't think it would be too much to have an episode explaining his past and fully going into his squad's past too.
      Emrie being Jango's sister is really fun to think about, it would explain why she wasn't in the Clone Wars and would explain why she comes off as quite kind to the Clones since they mostly share her Brother's face.

    • @hehu4025
      @hehu4025 3 месяца назад

      @@benspiller You know, Tech as Nemesis is essentially a better version of Crosshair from Season 1.
      As for Scorch, he's a character from the game, so they won't show fragments of something that has already been shown. Scorch is simply a continuation of the story for fans of Republic Commando and its related books.
      You don't need to know this, but if you do, you'll get a unique second meaning.

    Now, if you thought the Summit at Eriadu would be hard to find... Tantiss is SOOOO much worse.

    No spoilers, Ben.... but as you said in your Pinned comment, Tech is indeed dead. Season 3 was advertised as "The Final Season". That's all I'll really say about it, though.
    Dr. Karr, who claims to be Omega's sister, does have Omega's accent (and a VERY similar voice) but her voice is "older", as you'd expect from a clone that's more mature than Omega. Even from what we saw in season 2, her voice DOES sound a lot like an "older" version of Omega.
    I think that the reason they gave Tech so much character development in Season 2 is to make his death much more impactful. I consider that to be good writing.
    The only thing I'll say about Season 3 is that there will be a bit of a time jump, but not a "huge" one. OH! One more thing about Season 3..... Episodes 1 & 2 both dropped at the same time. So you can do both episodes at the same time. There's a reason that whose two episodes dropped together, and you'll see why when you get to them.

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад

      Still can't believe Tech is actually gone and yeah the writers did such a good job at giving him development this season to make his death sting so much more.
      Dr. Karr is so interesting now, it's clear the Kaminoans never do anything without purpose so unlike Omega, this clone had the genetic ageing thing and clearly had a different role in the Clone Wars and I can't wait to find out more about her.
      Didn't realise that episodes 1 & 2 were meant to be together, I have recorded them separately already though so I'm afraid they're following the same release as my other videos.

    Plan 99...🥲
    Remember the clone 99 from TCW? He died saving the other clones when Kamino was being attacked by separatists? That was what the Batch's Plan 99 was named after. 😭😭
    I knew he was dead because when the rail car the Batch was on crashed, it was much higher up, right at the station where they turn back around. This season finale left me in a state of shock and sadness for a while. :(
    I'm assuming you watched all of S3 too?

    • @benspiller
      @benspiller  3 месяца назад

      I love that this means the Batch and 99 knew each other and he was so important to them that they named this plan after his sacrifice. Still so sad that Tech's actually dead cause this was a pretty standard mission yet it went so badly, makes it feel like no one is safe going forward. Definitely needed time to process this, haven't seen all of season 3 yet but I have recorded the first 4 episodes so far.

    • @ARandomInternetUser08

      @@benspiller I looked it up and apparently, 99 died the same BBY year that the Bad Batch members were created: 21BBY. They might've known 99 in their younger months depending on how early or late 99 died and the Bad Batch was created. If they were aware that 99 died, whether they were alive when it happened or not, that definitely would've left an impact on them knowing why he died. It's probably something that's known among any clones too, like a local legend/tale.
