In the light of all the verses quoted below, one can quite safely say that Yusuf Ali’s explanation does not carry any weight. 33:21 “YOU HAVE A GOOD EXAMPLE IN ALLAH’S APOSTLE FOR ANYONE WHO LOOKS TO ALLAH AND THE LAST DAY AND REMEMBER ALLAH ALWAYS.” 68:4 “SURELY YOU HAVE A SUBLIME CHARACTER.” By the way, Sura Abasaa refers to either the holy Prophet himself or to the companion of the holy Prophet. Is it possible for the holy Prophet of Allah to behave in a manner that he needs to be reprimanded by His Creator? How is it possible for Allah to reprimand His most noble Messenger when He speaks so high of him many other places in the holy Qur’an? Who is this so called companion of the holy Prophet from amongst Quraish then? Surely, there is no way the holy Prophet of Allah to behave in such a way. Therefore, is it not a duty of each and every Muslims to investigate and find out for sure who this other person could be?
