Pakistan played 149 overs and England till now 101 overs. Assuming England plays another 40-45 overs, they might take a lead of close to 200. Second innings, pitch deterioration, few early wickets Pakistan might panic. My prediction is a Pak loss.

Question for both of you. How many mystery spinners succeeded in test matches?? As I know only orthodox leg spinners, off spinners and left arm spinners were successful. Then why do we have Abrar in the test team. He may be good for shorter formats but absolutely not in the test cricket. Second question, why didn't you criticize Saud Shakeel for his slow run. On 177 balls Shan scored 150 on the same no of balls Saud scored 55.

Pragmatically, in terms of making a pitch, Pakistan had 3 options.
1) make a pace/seam friendly pitch, and team PAK will get out under 150 in each inning against Eng, and lose the game with a possible innings defeat or follow on in 2 or 3 days.
2) make a spin friendly pitch, put 250+ in the first inning and get out around 100 in the second innings and lose the game in 3-4 days
3) make a dead pitch, make runs, hit hundreds etc, with an outside change of drawing the test match, else lose the game on day 4 or 5.
I ask you, which option would you pick? The question one needs to ponder over is on which track Pakistan bowling has the ability to take 20 wickets without conceding 1000 runs?
As strange as it may seem, it's ironic but true that Pakistan can only hope to win Test matches away from home, if at all. They appear clueless when it comes to preparing home pitches or capitalizing on home advantage. On overseas tours, they have no control over pitch preparation and must adapt to the conditions provided by the host country. If they manage to adjust well, they might secure a win or two, but if they fail, they could end up without any Test wins at all.

A pitch prepared like yester years pitch ...something all teams have eschewed in this modern game....Pak batsmen are playing for drinks break, lunch break, tea break and end of play. Ideally play a timeless test...None of us will watch , but will have a result...
Why blame the captain for defensive strategy when you don’t have bowlers or supportive pitch. At least Shan tried his best when batting to challenge England.

A good bowling unit can defend 200 runs in 20-25 overs, since it is a Test format, you can set all your fielders on the boundary line to prevent boundaries.
But if we expect this from Pakistan's bowling unit then you never know, they might lose. 😂
