    Thanks for an easy hat.pattern. I am a teacher and one of my students asked me if I would teach her how to crochet. Of course, I said yes, with pleasure. She is learning fast and wants to make a hat, now. I always send my new crocheters to your channel because you explain everything very well. Thank you Jayda and keep doing what you do best, teach us to crochet.

    I learned something new today. In the video you use the word Toque several times. I'm from the States so I have never heard the word before. I looked it up and learned of the word's French Canadian origin. I now have a new way of calling my beanie a toque. l can't wait to try this pattern an make myself a new Toque.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  Год назад +1

      Hi Debbie, Canadians from coast to coast typically refer to a warm winter hat (in this shape) as a toque. Growing up, I didn't realize that it was a uniquely Canadian thing!

    I would like to thank you for teaching me to crochet two years ago, and for broadening my bag of tricks with this great hat. As a fellow Canadian I want to say You The North! You are my go-to teacher and I cannot begin to tell you the joy you have brought into my life, as the first project I ever made was the dishcloth in your video tutorial for the half double crochet! 100 dishcloths, 40 blankets and 10 shawls later you taught me all of them. My first hat is super cute, and I will be happily stitching more.

    This is an amazing video, Jayda. I’ve been knitting hats for 50 years, and I make tons of them to donate, but I can only stand to knit them for so long, then I need a change. I’ve never crocheted much except blankets and granny squares, but I followed your clear instructions and, to my *great* delight, I crocheted a hat last night! I guess my son was delighted, too, because he claimed it immediately. Hahaha! I’m working on my second one now. Thanks so much for this video!

    I want to thank you Jayda for your tutorials especially this beanie. I wrote to you once before, I work at JoAnn's in Pensacola part-time and still working on self control. I just love making these Beanies(Hats) with the corkscrews on top. I made around twenty-seven last year and my mother found several places to donate to. I also tell costumers at work of how its done by measurement not counting rows, this makes a big difference and I give them your website on RUclips. You're Awesome and Love your personality. HUGS to you!!

    Love this hat and the easy pattern, THANK YOU! For people with big hair or a man as well, I would definitely add an inch or two to the cuff and maybe even an extra couple of rows to the body. Very nice hat. Builds up in no time at all! Thank you again Jayda!

    • @JaydaInStitches

      Hi Julie, definitely! You could also try it with thicker yarn and an even larger hook (say a 6.5mm) and that would also help to really upsize it!

      +Jayda InStitches, started this hat today, but the skeen I bought isn't enough to do the whole hat. I have about 2 inches left of the six I need for the top of it. My question is...I'm going to get another skeen in the morning to finish so will I just do a slip knot to end and then slip knot to pick it back up. I'm so new to crochet that I am not sure. I would imagine I can and it will be fine, but...lol Want to run it by a pro!

      Jayda, I should have known you had a video on joining skeins. I just watched it and it was so helpful. You are literally teaching me how to crochet. I cannot thank you enough. I would love to send you a pic of this hat when I'm finished. Do you have somewhere I can send it to you? Perhaps in an email? Let me know! Thank you!

    Thank you so much. I do basic crochet, perfer knitting but am having hand and fingers trouble so have try to crochet properly. I managed to crochet this hat for my hubby birthday. Yes stuff it up, but oh my I actually finished it. Not quite like yours, so very happy. Had major problem with the band, but I did it my way. My hubby loves it, gave it to him yesterday a day early. I love how easy your patterns are and your patience. One thing I have learned don't use dark wool when learning. Once again a huge big thank you. P.s. Have started that long rug using my scraps.

    I love the snow scene in the beginning of the video! It's in the mid-90s and oppressively humid here in Ohio, and just looking at that snow cools me off :) I'm one of those people that likes winter better than summer LOL. Love the hat pattern. Thanks Jayda- finished my hat last night. Loved the easy-to-use directions & explanations. The no-stess approach - especially after attempting & messing up 3 other beginner labeled hat patterns. My finished hat is bigger than I thought so most likely missmeasured. And yarn I used seems stretched out but I'm still happy. Each time I crochet, skill improves! Thanks for sharing & providing encouragement!

      Do you mean a pom pom? There are tons of videos to make those. Look for ones where you wrap it around your fingers and then tie the yarn around and cut it. It'll take you 10 min. I know this is an old post, but in case you make another hat, now you know it's called a pom pom. God bless. :)
