this isn't the same as expurgation or mamigation, saying that it is does all of them a disservice
it's done. i started this when a certain person (you know who you are) reminded me of this song's existence over a month ago, and only revisited it a few days ago when thinking of what i should cover next. i initially started it and then stopped because the syncing was weird with the bpm i had for it (161), and then realized that it was actually twice that. no real reason why it should be that fast tbh (as i said), it isn't a fast song at all. it's still an absolute banger tho
also in doing this i learned that this mod has a radiance theme remix. i absolutely love hollow knight, may need to cover radiant heaven sometime soon

ahhh another nice cover from chum bot, really love how its expurgation but heavily remixed
you know, when i started to see BETADCIUs pop up everywhere, and seeing so many people do incredible covers of expurgation, i remembered that i found the fanmade ina mod through an almost incredible coincidence, simply finding it in gamebanana in like... the fuckin new section. it was far from a perfect mod, but this song stood above the rest as not just what was to me at the time a gigantic challenge even for someone who had beaten the original expurgation, but also as a version of it that i actually loved more than the original.
Seeing that not a single video of it garnered even a fraction of the attention of the original holofunk or any other mod, and that not a single remotely popular figure except for TOPGameplays even touched the mod, i imagined this mod would remain obscure and this remix would go along with it.
When i thought of this song, i felt like the only way that a cover of this song would ever exist would be if i learned to do it myself. But I never really tried, instead just kept it in my mind as a heartfelt memory and an idea that i could maybe one day take on, until i realized that you were doing a cover of it. i couldnt read it from the cover excerpt like i could frostbite, but i could with the hints you gave a few days later. guess i should have seen it coming but it's still kind of incredible for me, and the fact that i may have been the one that reminded you this version existed only makes me happier. This song definitely deserved the love of someone like you to both let people know how incredible it is and to bring it out with your talent. Thank you.
Anyways! about the cover itself.
Separating Ame and Gura's icons to use their vocals separately is a great decision. Their voices are really solid standalone and the holofunk mod itself actually treats them separately and duet them at several points. not enough people do that due to the fact that doing that doesn't lend to gameplay covers. I think you did a good job doing the separate icons and Gura's hair looks fine.
Damn, the Rushia thing got all the way over here? As a vtuber fan talking to a non-vtuber fan, I'd rather you don't stress over it, it was something really dumb (that frankly is barely possible to understand if you don't know a LOT about JP idol culture) and it seems like it's all safely turning into water under the bridge as we speak. o7

The Ina mod is extremely underrated, and im glad you're doing a betadciu of the best Expurgation remix imo.
Hey, just so you know, it's actually fine to use the tgt voice (along with the other ones) while also simultaneously not supporting the creators if they're shitty. Separate the characters from the creations, don't be so nervous!

I love how you seem to look for good songs instead of just doing the popular mods, tons of respect for that! I also really like the vibe of this particular expurgation remix, it feels more epic and emotional and is probably my favorite one. that transition at 3:13 was phenomenal, the decision to add myra's holds was a PERFECT one, and i loved the ending with everyone singing the last note similar to the omnipresent cover.
10/10 would vibe to this again

Edit 2: if you're wondering about the rushia drama, from what ive heard its some crazy "fans" crying and doing dumb things over a message she got from who i believe is a popular male vtuber(?) during a stream, so i think its fine to still use her voice just so you know ^^
Noting that it's since been escalated to Rushia getting full-on sacked for repeated NDA violations that precede the drama. Her voice is probably still safe to use in BETADCIUs even though the character is (very begrudgingly) the one at fault for the drama themselves, but not in any cover videos meant to reflect on the situation as the dev team's fairly upset by some of the attempts to do so. (I mean, come on, Fading and Triple Trouble? Couldn't think of a lower blow if I tried...)

This variation of Expurgation is basically a slower tempo with a different pattern. If you want to test and see if it really is just a slower tempo, change the speed to 1.5x
