    8:11 about 4 years ago I went past the bush and spotted there. Great shots from there and the video is good; got some good clips of the HST

    Wouldn't normally watch a train video this long (usually 15 mins max), but the photography and editing was good, and the caption comments at the bottom were very informative, making this into a well rounded and produced video and a pleasure to watch

      Thank you. My target time is 15 minutes. I normally split into parts if I have more than 25 minutes of material. In this case I didn't have any more and didn't want to cut anything out as it fitted the story I wanted to tell.

    Thanks for a wonderful and informative look at Waverley, only been there once and you have reignited my desire to go again. But it is a long way from Exeter. Cheers.

      I was up in Edinburgh seeing family. My normal range is bound by the validity of my Freedom Pass around London. I am very tempted to go to York once the TPE 802s are in regular service but I will have to get a budget allowance from the Head of Finance.

    Dear Friend:
    I am a fervent admirer of the railways and next year I will visit England for 12 days, the cities of London, York, Liverpool and Manchester. I am interested in knowing some station around London to observe the trains at speed. Which would you recommend for filming train passes at good speed? Many thanks and warm regards from Argentina, Fausto.-

    I7C with great western livery are not refurbished. Weltec (?) Are way late with the refurbished carriages. These ones still empty loos onto line, but have old seats!

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  5 лет назад +1

      I didn't get to see any of the refurbished sets. It's Wabtec that are doing the work. I think they are trying to do some in Kilmarnock now to try to catch up.

    This might sound like a daft question but do driver training trains run empty or with passengers? Most enjoyable video and the on screen info is most helpful .

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  5 лет назад +2

      Only class 1and class 2 trains carry passengers. Just to confuse things some class 1 trains now have reporting IDs beginning with a 9.

    How as your Azuma experience?

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  5 лет назад +1

      The ambience seems better than the GWR units. The acceleration is noticeable. We were doing 60 by Abbeyhill and passed Craigentinny at 90. We were at a table of four so possibly sat more upright and were better supported by the seat back because of that. I certainly didn't get the sore back that I get on a GW airline style seat where I may slouch a bit. Would the average punter notice the difference between an HST, a 225 and an Azuma? Doubtful.

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  5 лет назад +1

      It is 390122 according to the number on the driving cars. I think the units coming back from work at Widnes have been minus front end branding since the change of franchisee was announced. Consequently there are a few around. This one is odd because one end still has the virgin red. I think I saw it around London recently as well. I have quite a lot of material waiting for publication so it might appear later.

    Diesel trains, OMG. Is this the '60 's ? What a country ……...

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  5 лет назад +1

      Unfortunately many lines do not have the traffic density to merit conventional electrician. Diesel is still the only viable fuel with sufficient power density for heavy rail in this situation. Rail is much less polluting than alternatives such as road and flying. As the energy density of new technology improves we can be sure that rail will be an early adopter.
